The Y isn’t missing. It’s a photo op spot ~ you stand in front of it and put your arms up to make the Y.
Lol that explains why it’s been missing for so long!!! Thank you for clarifying!
Moved to NH in the early 1960’s ( the belt line was under construction) The three stores were an ABC store , gas station and a grocery store. Great area to grow up. Lived on Pitt street.
Thanks for sharing that. It’s always great to hear stories like this
If you’re thinking of coming to nc better come it’s pretty cool here Raleigh, Durham , Greensboro ❤️
Love this video. Assume this is the old North Hills Mall area. My wife used to go to a salon over there back in the 90’s before we moved to DC. Would love to re-locate to this area in about 10 years. Can’t wait to see what it looks like in 2032.
Thank you! It will probably look much different in 10 years and much busier
Great video, Chris, with some good insight into the North Hills area.
Thank you for watching!
North hills only is popular with kids as it is a wildly easy place to get drugs and just name brand shops in that area.
Nice video. Thank you.
Thank you
Wow great video, one of the best walk around videos I have ever seen.
Agreed!!
Thank you!!
Great content
BOOMING!! Just like this channel! Amazing content!
👍
BOOOOOMMMM!!!!
Thank you!
Fantastic tour thanks Chris. Any chance you can do future videos on the development of Downtown Cary and Durham. ?
Thank you! Yes, we have some plans to include those things. Which Durham development do you mean?
@@LivinginRaleighTV nothing specific. Downtown.
@@novadhd Yes, we have some videos coming up to cover that
Nice video. Please do one the Glenwood South Area
We are planning it very soon!!
The innovation district was something that you forgot. Near vine apartments. They are beginning to level the area.
It’s shown late in the video
@@LivinginRaleighTV I believe midtown exchange is different from the innovation district from north hills. Dewitt Carolinas is in charge of midtown exchange instead of Kane
@@erikreyes7162 Yes, they are different areas. This video is already plenty long at 20 minutes without going into detail about all of that which is quite a ways from being completed.
@@LivinginRaleighTV that makes sense. I hope they release a time line on that area now that they are preparing the lot for construction
Hopefully soon!
The HAPP is for pictures. You stand in the Y's place with your arms up and open forming the Y.
Haha thank you!
Great video as always! I’m planning my first trip to Raleigh this fall and was wondering if you have any tips and / or recommendations for things that are must see or do on a first visit?
We made a whole video about that! ruclips.net/video/fAS-16ZgyGI/видео.html
Hope it helps
@@LivinginRaleighTV Ah I must’ve scrolled right past it! Thanks!
What’s your take on housing market now ? Should one even consider Raleigh area at this time !
It’s gotten easier for buyers but it’s still a competitive market. Definitely worth considering!
Lots of the single younger Hurricanes live in these apartments.
Bought a townhouse in Pre construction phase in North Hills, it’s about 2 minute drive from Target 🎯 , got it for $460k, now they go for $500k, they just started phase 2, what do you see the price going up to? I know it’s limited information I gave you but roughly 1,800 sqft. Trying to get an idea what the market value will be and what I could get for rent. Thanks in advance
As the market stands right now it’s really hard to tell. I would guess that area will do very well based on all the new developments coming.
Did you personally do the filming? I drive around here a million times a day everyday all day. Didn't see you. I'm a doordash driver lol
No, our videographer did!
Can u show the parking garage
1*1
North Hills the upper crust, I never heard the Mid-town name until about 2014
The name Midtown really fits the area perfectly. Otherwise there is a whole area between downtown Raleigh and North Raleigh that goes beyond North Hills.
@@LivinginRaleighTV I lived in North Raleigh when I first moved to the area in 2006,off Falls of the Neuse, but I also thought that name Mid-Town that developers came up with
Its too crowded that way i wouldnt wanna live in north hills
Understood. It’s still a nice place to visit and very central
The traffic is terrible on six forks near North Hills.
umm... north hills is NOT midtown. I am not sure who told you that. I am not a native, and I know this. I live in North Hills, but not by this shopping center.
Sorry, but you’re wrong. Midtown is a phrase coined by John Kane who built North Hills. That’s why the magazine is called Midtown. That’s why the new project is called Midtown Exchange.
@@LivinginRaleighTV well that makes complete sense, if you are asking for Kane point of view. If you ask the actual locals, he is ruining this city. All about gentrification, and it is NOT good for the residents here. Families that have been here for generations are being pushed out, due to his 'building of North Hills' and other areas that he has been 'building up' in other areas, with the help of his mayor buddy, Mary Anne Baldwin, who he bought and paid into office. Raleigh doesn't have the economic backbone to support what Kane has been building in even the last 5 years. It is a damned shame. Those are the surface level why's you are providing in your first response. At what cost is the part that you are missing.
