Yes, I live near Brier Creek/Raleigh Durham line and have seen 5 cottonmouths on my road walking my dog (sunning themselves). One almost got into my garage and I'm in a retirement community, not many trees and no water around. I think they must come up from the small walking trail? I have not seen any copperheads.
My hometown. I make regular trips there for vacation. I love Cary, a truly special place. 👍 I will admit though in my time being there, I have seen a "few" snakes.
Finally we bought our tickets to RDU and we arriving at 19th of September. Now I can check everything you've told us on my own 😂 Hope we've made a good decision to move to Cary. 😅

If you like strip malls, stroads, and very limited public transportation/bike infrastructure, Cary is one of the best places on Earth. If you hate walkable neighborhoods, and love spending hours in your car, you'll love Cary. And the "everywhere is 15 minutes from you" thing. Yeah, but everywhere is 15 mins from everywhere as well. Your favorite restaurant is 15 mins from your home and from your favorite cafe, which is 15 mins from the bookstore etc. Oh, and schools are not good and good ones are usually capped. Her #9 is real.
So happy Cary isn’t an urbanist hell-scape. The greenery, fresh air, and birds chirping outside my window has been the best thing for my mental health. Never run out of things to do, everything within minutes of my front door. The quality of life in Cary can’t be beat.
Move downtown Raleigh or Durham if you’re young and still dating. Stake out Your neighbors to see if there’s energy on your block. Create fun. For Cary, Most people use it as a second home, they want good schools and safety. I have never seen a snake in Cary or Durham. You will not die from a snake.
I moved here back in 1988 to take a job with American Airlines and traveled all over the world. Bought a place in Cary back in 1989 for $43,000.00, and now places on that same street are selling for close $300,000.00 These places are not big and I describe them as a _birdcages._ I tell people the street I live on is an _anomaly_ in Cary as I am surrounded by homes worth half a million and up. I jokingly refer to my neighborhood as the _slum of Cary._ Crazy. I couldn't afford to move here today. I am established so I can easily afford to live here, but wouldn't be able to afford to move here again like I did back in 1988.

Don't even get me started on what happened to Fuquay. What's funny is the local accent is just gone. It doesn't exist anymore. You can hear it if you go back and watch old WRAL interviews (We miss you, Charlie!) But the unique local population is just gone.
If you want to party hard, I would suggest that most of North Carolina is probably not for you. If you really need to party hard, I would suggest that you go to Romania in 1995. For a place without snakes, my I suggest New Zealand.
Pretty much nonsense on nearly every point. And, btw, Cary is ~not~ some kind of GOP stronghold, as she hinted. I would rate cary as moderately liberal, definitely liberal in terms of the South. Less liberal than the larger cities of NC with large African-American populations. But Cary is far from being all white; it has not only a significant - AA population but also a large Asian population. Cary is more international than any other NC town, imo. (This is due to the large footprint of tech jobs and international business.)
