Richard, I cannot express how much I love and appreciate the movie references in your videos ,absolutely spot on, "Red 5 standing bye". I particularly enjoyed your "What's in the box?" reference during the Pandemic Legacy Runthrough, I laughed so loudly, woke everyone up. . I hope to hear more of them in your videos! Keep 'em up sir!!!!
Wow... game was literally over before Jen even got her first turn. Look at that disparity between total pips on dice (34 vs 15, over double!) and money (12 vs 7) before she even takes her first turn. It's like she started 4 or 5 (at least) turns behind. If I was Jen I would have just called a mulligan right at the start, and started completely over. :) And seeing the board and score at the end of the extended playthrough, it would have been wise... it doesn't look much better. I'm thinking this game needs a house rule to avoid just disparate starting positions... maybe, for the set-up turn, re-roll all 1's and 6's. Looks like a cool game, though.
high value dice aren't implicitly more valuable in this game. sometimes you want low numbers, and you can use them to good effect. also, jen chose to start with less money so she could trigger more special effects during the game. because i took the extra cash, i get signficantly fewer special moves during play.
Don't you think that the random setup can create situations where one character has a good starting point to fulfill the requirements and the other a big disadvantage. For example the Elf Range gets the biggest point bonus for condition but it's very hard to achieve because she starts with two less.
+Leon Scheuber the rules actually have 'non random' startup as well where you have a lot more control over the initial situation :) the elf wasn't screwed that much though... sure it'd great to get that 4vp, but not chasing after thta means you can go after different VP scoring options too!
+Leon Scheuber There are a few cards that can help overcome this, if you are in this situation. The "Famous" Trait gives +2/-2 to any Attribute. The "Longsword" Weapon gives +1 to all dice of your class color, and the "Jeweled Dagger" gives +1 to all gold dice (you can effectively count 6's as 7's). Even with the default setup rules, the player can chose either side of the class card, so you can choose to avoid that concern, if that's desired, too.
How would one get these cut-outs into the Character Sheets I wonder... The game looks awesome. Great job introducing it to us, Richard! Thank you and Keith!
+Christian Scholz-Flöter For the prototype, it was just careful xacto knife use. It was a lot of work to make each prototype. :) For the final version, they'll be punched as part of the punchboard, of course.
A game focused on character building where an elf ranger can't get full points seems somewhat broken. Not judging on the gameplay, but the flavour seems off.
Is this what the kids call a Meta game? I feel a disconnect with this theme. This is why Rahdo is so great because his runthrough gives me a feel for the games. I love Watch it played but it doesn't give me a feel for the game. Thanks' Rahdo

at 30 seconds in, i thought for sure this wouldn't be interesting. but, here i am at the end, and really wishing the game didn't cost so much.
Great theme for dice drafting!
4:42 haha that small panic attack!
Your videos make me want more games :P
+Charles Clements no kidding. I learned of Rahdo in January, and I'd say 40-50 of the games I've bought since then were because of him :S

Fun idea.Already ordered sagrada so I'll skip this one.
Too bad you never get to actually play with the character.
Is there a little penguin on the table watching you? Spotted it at 7:50.
+Jonaelize yup, my wife makes them, and we sometimes use them as game pieces: www.jenefer.net for more info :)
Oh, wow, your wife is mighty talented. Thanks for the link!
2:16 Think you meant 18 Wisdom :)
wow... how did this game slip by me? :0
