I have the S to S Ikos TR2 - it's basically the same tent, slightly heavier, definitely cheaper but all the same features. Brilliant tent, so versatile, rainproof, solid. Love the design. My go to tent.
I’m a fan of Sea to Summit. There is always a certain cleverness about their products, something stylish and enjoyable, something - indeed - nobody thought of. You could call them the Belgium Hikers among the outdoor brands 😊.
There are a lot of advantages to the sea-to-summit tent. But... I think the disadvantage of water seeping under the fly over the vent is a problem that must be solved.
I'm super interested in the X-mids and hope to be able to test them in the future. But they're pretty hard to get a hold of here in Europe, and if you factor in import duties, they not quite that cheap (though still a great option!).
X-mid will cost me (in the Netherlands) 735 euro including the poles.... Their website says 330 USDollar. So yeah, you are right import duties are rather high. @@BelgianHikers
Yeah after carefully considering this tents attributes & design, I would say this tent falls in to a category we we used to have years back, we used to call tents like this ' SHITE '.
@@BelgianHikers clearly rain!! What other weather would it be? The outer comes too close to the inner, causing condensation to drip down...I live in the UK. My friend bought this tent and hates it! Waste of money

Great video as always 🤙🏽
Thanks mate!
I can see hang out mode used more than camping, kids soccer games like a sportbrella, or a nice beach shade. Could give the tent more use
Absolutely. It's best for situations where you have ample time to set up though. I'm sure there are quicker solutions.

If they keep at it, maybe one day they'll be as successful as we are 😉
@@BelgianHikers hahaha, Iet’s drink to that! Proost!

Hangout mode would be absolutely amazing for fishing on slow rivers
True! Probably not the cheapest or quickest solution, but a nice bonus if you need a tent anyway.
Good video just one thing want to se it tested in the wind
Yeah, a good storm test would have been ideal. My wind tunnel was in repair unfortunately 😄
@@BelgianHikers it ok send me the tent and i use my new 2023 model wind tunnel lol

Let's hope for a small storm in the morning that passes quickly ;-)
Cool channel, Will follow. You don't sound very Belgian though.
Born and bred! May have watched a few too many English cartoons as a kid though 😅
@@BelgianHikers Awesome, your English accent is perfect!
Good tent. X-Mid however has more space and is $200+ cheaper

I❤ you xoxoxo ❤️
Yeah 'groundbreaking' design, another tent that pitches inner first.
Since the Telos has a 'fly only'-mode, you can actually pitch that first and do the inner last. It takes longer though, so don't bother in light rain.
@@BelgianHikers I don't think it takes any longer to pitch fly first. Easy and quick enough whichever pitch option you choose.
@@BelgianHikers It would probably be easier to describe it as frame first pitching - every option follows from that.

Well that’s not sugarcoating it 😅 What does it lack and what would you recommend instead?
That’s funny
Literally zero reason to ever buy this tent over the Nemo Dragonfly 2P/3P. Those tents are better in every conceivable way
Haven't tested that one, but they certainly cater to the same crowd. Pretty similar in many ways. What do you like best about the Dragonfly?
How you can come up with a tent like this after 2 years of development is beyond belief...The R&D team should be sacked!
Terrible tent... Leaks through the vents and suffers from condensation! They need to go back to the drawing board for the next version...
When you say ‘leaks through the vents’, what kind of weather are we talking about?
@@BelgianHikers clearly rain!! What other weather would it be? The outer comes too close to the inner, causing condensation to drip down...I live in the UK. My friend bought this tent and hates it! Waste of money
Ok, I thought you were maybe talking about stormy/high wind situations. Haven’t had any issues in normal rain myself.
@@BelgianHikersputting vents on top of a tent like that is just ridiculous!!
