In this entire article none gave a definition of either republic or democracy. Obviously they do not know the difference. Thankfully our forefathers that drafted our government system knew, and selected a representative republic as the better choice. Even our pledge of allegiance to the country flag clearly states "to the Republic for which it stands".
Republic - A political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them
Democracy - The doctrine that the numerical majority of an organized group can make decisions binding on the whole group
The intent in a Republic is to give equal voice to both majority and minority populations, a fair and equitable approach.
Democracy on the other hand voids minority voice and inserts majority rule which is truly unfair, unjust and unethical.
Everyone needs to do the right thing
