Ulrich II, Count of Celje (Ulrik Celjski) was murdered in Belgrade castle by noble Hungarian family Hunyadi. By accounts he died with sword in his hands, defending against several enemies, after his murder they chopped his head off. With Ulrik's death the family ended (he was the last male heir). Edit: There was suspicion that Frederick II (Friderik Celjski), father of Ulrik II, killed his wife Ellizabeta Frankopan. Friderik's second wife Veronika Deseniška was charged being a witch (the first recorded witchcraft process in Slovenia). Although she was acquitted in court, she was later murdered. Edit no2: with a "little" different course of events the counts/princes of Celje could became emperors of HRE and perhaps eventually kings of Spain,... (hereditary contract with the House of Habsburg).
Very nice! Although, if may I add, the name of the count, who put his son in jail, was not Henry but Herman. I believe that these two names are not exactly the same and that Henry is not an English version of Herman. All in all, very useful presentation!
Hi, Jasmina thanks a lot for posting another nice and interesting video about Slovenia.
Thank you for watching 🙂

Interesting castle.

Never thought you could find Iron Maiden in Celje! 😂
Celje is a dead town. In fact, you're likely to meet more people at the cemetery.
It isnt tiny city it is big city
Če si iz spodnjega dupleka potem je mogoče big city.
