Nelson from Lincoln, Nebraska (a Platinum Member) asks: I'm an attorney, and I have some sensitive information in my database. Is there any way that I can put a password on it like with Word and Excel to prevent people from opening it?
BONUS FOR MEMBERS:
Silver Members and up get access to an Extended Cut of this video. Members will learn how to split their database and have the frontend connect to the password-protected backend. Then we'll create a user table with usernames and password. We'll make a logon form to process the user logon. I'll show you how to use TempVars to store the name of the currently logged on user.

Thank you so much 😀
Great video! If I link to a table in a protected database, can the data still be updated using an update or append query from another database?
As long as you have access to it, sure.
My goodness.... what a rant! Lol. But evidently necessary
Which one? LOL
@@599CD hacking into a DB, backup, all of em haha
You'd be surprised the BALLS some people have! I get emails at least once a month, "can you help me hack into a database?" NO! One time I did feel bad for a guy because he paid an employee to build him a database while he was on the clock, so technically the company did own it, but when they fired the employee he never gave them the password to get into his developer ACCDB file copy. I told the guy there are services out there, but hacking into databases is not my thing. I told the guy I could build him a new database for less than what I would charge him to break into the current one. Never heard from him again. LOL
@@599CD oh nooooo. Ugh. Wow
Great video!!! I run my database from a scheduled task. Is there a way to auto-populate the required password so the scheduled task runs???

With the password encrypted backend, is there a way to change the script that looks for the backend "relink tables when backend was moved" to incorporated the password stored in a table
Yeah I'm sure that's possible.
Question ??
we had a data base created for us and we paid for the person to run this. But they are no longer taking care of this data base and we do not have their password !!! And we need to get into it. How can we get back into it !
Good luck. I have read about 3rd party utilities online that claim to be able to break Access passwords. I've never tried any of them, so I can't speak of their effectiveness. That's why I always say KEEP GOOD BACKUPS. :)
I Can't share password protected database to MS SharePoint. What's the way?

Everytime I log in, the password is still written in the login box, which means other people can easily log in my Acces database. How to remove that password so that everytime I log in I have to type manually?
Sounds like you have the form bound to a table. Don't do that. Unbound.
doesn't work in my file,
how to unlock access database if you forgot the encrypted password
Can't do it
