I lost my dad back in January. He was barely here in his last few days and this song was on repeat in my mind. In the end losing him wasn't what hurt the most. It was watching him lose himself and become a shell. I love this song. It reminds me of a horrible time in my life but leaves me with hope.
Jordan Chapin I lost my closest grandmother to ALS and dad to suicide shortly after. This song fit both of their situations so perfectly and was there for me when I felt no one else could be. Stay strong bud. I hope things have gotten easier for you.

This song has helped me through some rough times after my mom died. I'm glad I discovered this band. All of their songs hit home one way or another.
After getting out of a DV situation and him trying to (end) himself in front of me and me having to save him - this came on a playlist today and it hit so much harder/different than last time I heard it years ago and I cried. It’s so powerful.

lost my mom january 2018. my dad was devastated as was i. it hurt seeing him turn into a mess. he was a heavy alcoholic, and he even popped pills for awhile because it was the only way he could cope. unfortunately, i lost him in september of 2018, when my mom hadn’t even been gone for a year. i needed him the most. it still hurts, but this song helped me get through it. much love to anybody struggling right now, always remember there are people out there who love you.❤️

My grandma raised me since I was 4. I'm 30 now and she passed away August 26th, 2019. She was never disappointed. I went to jail, got expelled from school and ultimately joined the military. I've taken lives and she's always been my comfort. I'm so lost and I don't know what to do.

my dad died of Parkinsons disease and the death was very rough. this shit is so cathartic for me. that line "I saw your soul leave this room like it was sick of you" brings tears to my eyes.
My dad just passed away last summer and my boyfriend at the time showed this song to me. It was hard to listen to it then but it's comforting rediscovering it now.
My dad passed away at 49 last year in December after my parents had been together for 27 years. Seeing a young and happy couple together really gets to me because it reminds me of a time when they were happy despite medical issues. This video really hits.

Fucking powerful. I love the direction this band is taking, you can really tell that Landon's songwriting has matured a lot with the last few singles because he doesn't have to be all like *RAWR RAWR I'M SO FUCKED UP AND PISSED OFF LOOK AT ME* anymore to get his point across and still sound good. It's melodic and inspiring, but still (to me) keeps the spirit of a hardcore band.

It amazes me how The Plot In You only gets better and better! only disappointment is that they would leave Rise for StaySick, although i do understand and respect their decision.

I was 18 a senior in high school the year my grandpa passed away, it started as complications from diabetes and snowballed... took less than 2 weeks to take him. He died during the night and was resuscitated only to be brought back brain dead. I had just gotten to the hospital that day, i went up to his room in the ICU he decided to wait for me five minutes later eyes wide open gasping for air he took his last breath and i watched his soul his life force everything that was him just flicker out of existence i literally watched his soul leave the room like it was sick of him. This song hits me so hard because i know what it is to watch someone die and it's not something i want to experience ever again.
