Never read them myself, but my mom read the OG comics when they came out. She passed away a decade ago, so I’m always happy to see her spirit live on in other people.
I'm trying to find Fable of Venice, Golden House of Samarkand, and Tango, but I have every IDW edition. I think I can do without The Secret Rose and The Early Years. It sucks they're OOP because I initially didn't care for the series, but now it's one of my favs. "What are you thinking about?" - Tristan "I'm thinking that women would be wonderful if we could fall into their arms instead of their hands." - Corto, from the story, The Brazilian Eagle, in the volume, Under the Sign of Capricorn
Nice to meet a fellow man of culture. One of the important parts of being cool is making people think you aren't trying. Hugo Pratt and Corto Maltese definitely pull this off. If you think those comics are expensive check out the Corto Maltese tarot deck.... obviously the prices posted on places like eBay are wildly inflated but does give an idea about the demand. I would love to these reprinted and the value of my collection plummet back to earth 😅. Thanks for commenting, appreciate hearing from another fan.
I'm not sure which is my favorite, it's been a few years and I'm do for a re read. Samarkand is the one that sticks out though, I'm a sucker for action sequences on a train.
Not random, but feel free to do as you please. Think I'm going to do the 2 books in one video at the end of every month. I'll ask Kevin for some some question prompts..... he is the only one that sends me email 🥲

Wow, that gave me goosebumps!
Thank you for sharing that.
Mom had good taste.
I dig the new channel photo! As someone who's low key obsessed with comics I'm surprised I've never heard of these. I'll have to find a copy.
@@foxingandfiction spent way too much time and money, so I'm happy to share whatever gems I was fortunate enough to find.

I might like to join in on the Sacketts read along if that's cool. Anything I should know?
Sounds very interesting. Enjoy. Thanks -James

Cool covers and sounds interesting. Which was your favorite?

I'm assuming on the Sackett thing we are just reading and doing videos at random correct?
The art on these look pretty good.
As far as you know….

I'm starting the first book tomorrow. Looking forward. I was also going to discuss them at the end of the month.
@@foxingandfiction Glad to have you along.
