- We drove past this yard and noticed it was super overgrown so we thought we would stop and see if someone lived there so we could mow it. It looked abandoned at first but after we went and talked to the neighbor she told us someone actually does live there. He just works so much he doesn’t have time to mow so now it has got beyond what his push mower can handle. We told her we would take care of it for free and then she warned us that we might change our mind when we see how bad the backyard is. As always we are up for a challenge and we are excited how this one came out. He is going to be absolutely shocked when he gets home and see’s his yard!

What this video says about good parenting, is in my opinion, the greatest teaching tool ever. These kids are working hard, happy to be hanging with dad and helping him. It speaks volumes about this family unit. These parents, dad and MUM, are doing a brilliant job raising their boys.

As a person who works all the time also and at times gets behind on yard maintenance.this happened to me once by my neighbor and when I got home was a HUGE relief to see he did it .I returned the favor when I was on vacation to let him know how much it was appreciated. He said that's what neighbors are for..cudnt ask for nicer neighbors
My garden looks like a jungle because I work in a bank and can’t get on it. Started on one hedge which is 16 feet high, did half and now I’m exhausted, but feeling good!
I agree, that’s what great neighbors do for each other. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be an abundance of good, caring neighbors anymore. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful world to live in if all people were as caring as this wonderful family? Blessing boys, definitely blessing others!

I’ve had some health issues (physical & mental) over the years, so I can’t say I’ve been able to be a good neighbour in more recent years like I was when I was younger and able to be. So I certainly don’t fault people who live nearby for not being “neighbourly”. I know my property is my responsibility. But it’s still heartwarming and encouraging to see that people like these Blessings Boys exist in a pocket or two of society, helping needful folks one property at a time. Because it helps those nearby too - those who need to look at it every day. And it might inspire others who see this video and all the work they do to help others themselves , in any way they are able to - even those they don’t even know ❤🙂!

Thank you for all you do! The man will probably come home and think he’s at the wrong house. The neighbors have watched his lawn grow and grow and probably close to getting a fine but yet they wouldn’t help him out. I grew up in rural Kansas and neighbors always helped neighbors. I’m so glad you did! You teach your boys how to give and how to bless others.
Yes each one could help by mowing over into his yard some when they mow their yard!!😃 Especially his front yard, then maybe he could have time to mow the back yard!!!😄😄 I think that they should be glad he's a good person to work so hard!!! I agree with the sentiment that the neighbors could have helped. My neighbors have helped me on occasion without my asking. I reciprocate with baked goods as a way of thanking them. Easier for me to bake than to mow or shovel snow!

What broke my heart (yeah, I’m soft hearted) were the raised planters that spoke of someone who at one time had the time to plant abs tend to a garden, and is no longer able to, or around to care for the gardens. The kids play set that was overgrown and abandoned also made me wonder what had happened to the kids.

I was thinking that at first too. But then I thought perhaps the current owner(s) or renter(s) might have inherited those things with the property and had intentions of taking them down some day. But when minimum wage is so low, you need three jobs just to afford healthcare, yard chores are a low priority - there’s not enough time to do it all!

The lesson not just for your sons but to everyone. Money is today’s goals. People forgot what life use to be when I grow up. Neighbors helped each other. Your actions of helping would not be compensated with money but with appreciation and gratitude. Thank you for showing us that people still care. You did not need to know someone to help.
Where I grew up, there was a group of neighbours that shared things. We had a concrete mixer, welder and hte most of anyones tool, so they would be lent out regularly. Another family has trolleys and moving stuff, plus a large chicken coop, so they took anyones grass clippings and provided eggs. There were others, I can’t quite remember the details. I do recall that three families purchased a trailer which was stored at one of their places. It reduced costs for each family and saved a lot of wastage.

For example, the yard where we live is so overgrown with grass and sticker weeds and the fact we are all disabled in our household the landscaper quit on us because there was garbage that blew in from recent storms and refused to come back.

Many people just need the help. So many set back and complain about people yards but, maybe like this man they just need a helping hand and not neighbors complaining.
