Apparently from what I've read, he was an interior designer and this house was specifically built to show case his designs hence the reason most of it doesn't work, for show only, ect.
HillbillyBusa makes sense!
Those weird chairs are "courting benches"; when a young couple was dating the parents didn't want any hanky-panky going on. The couple could sit on the bench & talk, but anything past a peck on the cheek would be obvious, uncomfortable and completely awkward ;p
A great place to play Hide & Seek.
I wouldn't have a problem with the low ceilings 'cause I'm only 4'11"! lol
Same here, I'm 5 ft. tall!
Hello fellow short people! I am also 5 ft tall 😂
I lost it when you said "Whacky Tobacky millionaire house" LOL!!!!!
I used to live down the street from there, the weirdnesses of the house are mainly part of a cooling system, the house draws in air through the cellar and up through the house in an updraft (and through the rooms via the little doors/ windows etc) to cool the house during the summer.
NC doesn't stay that warm in winter so I'm sure some of the fireplaces were originally functional, but may have been sealed off at some point for a more modern furnace sometime in the early 1900s?
You should visit and do a video of the Winchester mystery house. Very cool place.
Max Zomboni Yes they do I've seen plenty of videos on RUclips where they let them film I'm sure they can make an exception and it sounds like ole carpet bagger would love that type of place.
That's exactly what I kept thinking the entire video was that Jacob needs to see the Winchester House. He thinks this house is stranger then he's going to be really impressed by the Winchester Mansion as it is "THE" Mystery House! But I'll definitely dub Korner's Folly as the Winchester Mansion of the East Coast.
Curiouser and curiouser...
The figure in the hallway background at 6:50 freaked me out!
I was waiting for you to make that doll "hiss" when you zoomed in on her !
Just imagine taking all that furniture up to all them rooms
+Earl V yuck
This house is amazing, but I think the most entertaining part was watching Adam trying to fit through the smaller spaces.
I was waiting for you guys to get stuck.
You need to see the Winchester Mystery House. We took a 3 hour tour and left after hearing strange noises.
If I ever attempted to build a house it would probably end up something like that...
i love abandoned places with creppy vintage dolls keep up the good work
rickey baker i love abandoned houses but.....not......so much...............dolls
wow.. that is a strange house.. I couldnt live in a house with rooms that small ! very interesting. Thanks for sharing .
So bizarre, yet fun!
Actually all the fireplaces can work with the ventilation shafts and a series of tunnels under the house, keeping warm and cool air flowing. I think he was showing off his decoration skills with the interior though.
The narrow hallways and stairwells are for maids to duck behind. This way they can get their work done without disturbing the family.
You should put the location of these attractions in the description.
That place is insane! Have you ever checked out Lost Cove? It's one heck of a hike but it a cool abandoned moonshiners town in the mountains. We went there about a month ago and loved it. There a video on my page.
+Joshua Harris Vlogs I've put it off cause I was worried I'd get lost
The Carpetbagger it's a hard hike but it's worth it. I put a video out on it not to long ago from when we went. If you ever want to collaborate on a video together let me know
That was really fun! So glad you went there and gave us a tour.
I'd like to visit one day. Very cool
Those low ceilings are things made of nightmares. I could feel my claustrophobia rising in that kids room.
I really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing with us. 👍
What a crazy amazing place!! Thank you for the tour!
❤ Korner's Folly is so beautiful decorated for the Christmas Holidays! 🎄 i will be taking my first Candlelight Christmas Tour tomorrow evening.
Now, that was fun. Thank you !
I LOVED YOUR OLD INTRO VS YOUR NEW ONE.
From the outside this place looks like the houses I build in Sims 4. The windows all over and everything. 😆
😂😂😂
Hi guys 🖐🏼. This house is almost as whacky as the Winchester house 🏡. There's no way I could live there being claustrophobic. Especially in those small tight confined spaces. Thanks for sharing this with Us 🙋🏿♀️
Loved your take on korners folly
I love that house. It's brilliant xx
Wow awesome !!!
Very cool house!!
Built like a brick .... That was so funny! Good to see Adam in the video. I've missed the daily Woo.
Looks like fun!😁
Would've never known this strange place existed. Thanks for your vlog!
Watching replay thanks 😊
great job
I was so nervous you guys were going to get stuck somewhere and couldn't get out! My heart was racing!
This was cool!
Jules Körner actually made his fortune designing and painting those iconic BULL DURHAM advertising murals. His name is pronounced Kerner. His family founded Kernersville. Same family but Jules preferred the original spelling.
I just saw Adam's video as well. It's pretty cool how the two of you we're doing your show simultaneously well done.
like yours and Adams adventure very interesting video
Amazing 👍👍
The Korner House
Where each turn, leads to a corner.
Just went. Love it!!! Doll was not there though. Only 1 in rose room
The lowered ceiling in one of the rooms reminds me of a 2005 geico commercial lol
If you ever get up north I'd recommend The House on the Rock in Wisconsin. (and maybe Taliesin heh)
That fellow with you looked like a giant. Loved the brick sh...Thanks Jacob!
You don’t know Adam the Woo????
Oh my!
It's just like the Winchester house! 😆.
It made me think at the Winchester house. Greetings from the Brusselsman
What a strange place!!
pretty house and like
that is an odd house. when I was a kid a friend of mine lived in an old Victorian style house. in it you would go up this grand staircase and the landing you came to instead of a wall in front of you there was an opening that was covered with a plate glass window! at one time you could walk through the opening to rooms in the back of the upstairs of the house. you would turn the corner go up three more stairs and up there were two locked room.the family who rented it could not get in rooms and the landlady lived in upstairs behind the glass wall! creepy!
That house would be a child's dream!
Only day two since i have discovered you here. I have watched many videos. I am enjoying the ride.
+telecasterbear I appreciate it
Cool!
Is one is one of my favorites.
omg I would have had a panic attack, and I'm short lol
All the spinning and quick movements I am now dizzy. I think the house is cute.
I bet the kids liked it!
This is like Winchester House Jr. Lol
This is a super cool house, although I can imagine trying to play hide and seek in it. Or getting lost in it if you were an overnight guest trying to find your way to the kitchen or the bathroom. And some of those rooms were downright claustrophobic! Still, though, I would LOVE to live in a place like that!
That's cool
this buy loves urban crawl spaces.
Your so funny u crack me up everytime lol 😂
This looks wild! And they were just eccentric- not murderers- so that’s a plus.
those rooms weren't that small back in those days, an average person was about 1,60
😂😂 loved it
It was built to confuse people, guess he did a great job...
It"s making me hungry !!
its like an mc escher drawing...also- reminds me of Cousin Its room n the old Addams Family show🖤🖤cousin It was always my personal fav🤘🏻❣️also reminds me if some nitemares where im in a small room and trapped n feel like cant breathe!!!! ahhhhh!!!!!
I concur
A little bit like the Winchester house 😱 I like it.
Not everything has to be functional 😎
still a very neat house
The castles in Europe (including the palace that I got married in) had murals all over the ceiling and walls. We had to take off our shoes and put on some slippers to get married in the palace.
Doing a paranormal investigation here would be cool
Such a strange..Alice and Wonderland...vibes..type..place
I like the house
PLZ GO TO THE DODGE HOUSE OR SPUIRREL CAGE JAIL IN COUNCIL BLUFS IOWA! i went there on vacation once and it is creepy.
Mr. Korner must have heard about the Mystery House in San Jose, California and decided to try to one up Sarah Winchester.... Lol
just realized you kinda sound like Master Shake from ATHF........awesome
Spooky
Cool! :3
Oh you captured the awkwardness of the house.
This seems crazier than the Winchester house
you need to see the winchester house in jose calif. !!! Please look
It's weird I actually had a dream about a house that looks like this before and I'm looking at this video and the house looks so familiar i'dk why it's crazy
*cars rolling by*
*RUclips captions* *applause*
Those are conversation chairs.
Looks like he tried to compete with the when Winchester house!
As for that "children's room" safety standards in the 1800s and early 1900s certainly weren't anything like they are now.
(my gran was born in 1908 and was playing with an iron functional toy stove and was allowed to put a coal in it to warm up cookies she'd made. Early "Easy bake oven"?)
This house is basically my brain
That house looks like it was designed for little people.
Weird house, weird family that built the weird house,
Yummy Goodies
Does anyone know the decor style of the house? Particularly the kind of paintings that were used in the theater?
