Chloes musicality is so slept on it’s what reminds me of bey the most about her she hits every beat in a song and that upper operatic upper register she has is lethal

What gets me about both Chloe and Bey is normally (or in a lot of cases) when an artist that talented performs, some of their musicality gets lost in their showmanship. Chloe and Bey seem to get *better* on stage if that’s possible. It blows my mind, but I guess that’s the difference between the good and the legendary and/or iconic artists.
Couldn’t agree more. Her presence is so intense that sometimes we don’t notice Halle. That’s why the choreo thing is just THE solution. Cause there’s less difference of presence and gives a structure visually . Buuuuut yet Chloé’s energy remain dominant. Guess it’s just the talent like Beyoncé and that range of other performers
@@i.b7124 I think her presence is a bit more intense because of her size and sex appeal. I think Chloe is equal because she's as confident. Also, I think Halle's personality is more relaxed and less aggressive as Chloes. I was listening to the album and for a minute I thought did Chloe EP this because she seemed to be singing more notes or more adlibs.
Then I thought, they may not be Halle, where as Chloe will jump on top of a note and adlib. She shows out on stage, very reminiscent of Beyonce and maybe an equal hard-worker, which is what makes Beyonce Great.
Also Halle's personal musical choice is blues with an operatic character, you'll miss it if you have a pop/R&B ear, which is all CHLOE!

@@amouramir. i agree & I can see that too but the thing is they should have won for R&B. The weekend won but his song was more pop than r&b so idk why he was even in that category to begin with. Also "best quarantine performance went to CONCO, who tf is that?! CxH always give their 100% but award shows and ppl who keep sleeping on them- refuse to give them their flowers

I really think they didn't get the main stage because they didn't want to go to NYC due to COVID. They've been very vocal about quarantine and staying to themselves/at home. There's a whole video of the girls in a hazmat suit leaving the house 🤣🤣🤣
As for their performance style, Kelly Clarkson said it best. They have duality. Chloe is more extroverted and in your face where with Halle she's extroverted but very laid back and ethereal. A great combo that balances each other well.

I was not ready. They won’t keep their feet off our neck. I watched it 3 times. Chloe’s vocals and dancing were everything in this performance. Gave me beyonce vibes

also i think ungodly hour has a more mainstream sound than forgive me and busy boy - so people at the vma’s (the pop girlies) would be more inclined to continue listening to their otherwise really heavy sound

This was a pre show performance, not the main show performance so not as big of a time slot as the us open stage but they slayed nonetheless

I feel you Dev about their performances and how ideally they should’ve been switched, but it depends on the time slot allotted to them. And this was the pre-show, not the main event. But as ALWAYS they came through, the both of them! SICKENING!

The VMAs probably didn’t give them as long of a slot as the US Open. That’s the only thing I could think of as the reason why they wouldn’t show off more in front of the larger audience. But all 3 of them, Chloe, Halle, and that braid slayed
I think because of time, they couldn’t do a three-part performance as it’s the pre-show. They could’ve got the main show but because they didn’t wanna travel to New York during the pandemic, they were given the pre-show and sent in their performance. I think if they did the main stage, we would’ve got a medley. But I loved their choice of deciding to perform this.
Til this day, this performance is #1 performance in the VMA'S. My fave gal's right here ❤❤

I said this on Twitter, they gave me Beyonce meets Labelle in the costumes, which were gorgeous. The US open probably gave them more time to perform than MTV especially since MTV put them in the pre show.
at the us open sound check, there were multiple artists performing and they each did like three full songs. It was CxH, Kane Brown, and Khalid. So that’s why they did three there and Ungodly Hour at VMAs.
They truly deserved main stage, performance of the night

But I am SO tired of Halle feeling like a background singer to Chloe. They are BOTH powerhouses. Why does it always seem like in every performance (aside from the US open performance), Chloe is highlighted more. I understand she’s more dominating but It’s so frustrating. I feel like their team should do better with highlighting both of their strengths. Even the vocal arrangements favor Chloe. Chloe does most of the ad libs and Halle sings the melodies. I’m like wtf.
Idk if it’s intentional or not but 🤷🏽♀️. I love them both. I just had to vent. Lol.

Zulu Immortal it’s not that the song isn’t equal parts. I’m saying their overall performances seem to be dominated by Chloe. Their team should do a better job at highlighting both girls IMO.
I can see where your coming from but I feel like they do a good job at playing up to their strengths I feel in this performance they wanted to showcase their runs more and at least from what I’ve seen chloe is better at doing runs and rifts

They should have done Do It.. this is the VMAs you gotta do your big song when you have that kind of exposure. Busy Boy would have been a better choice if they wanted to do something new.
Lets also remember they love their fans so they did ask plus this is their title track. I understand about the Do It being popular but its played at this point. Their creative energy is way too big for 1 song plus it doesnt provide much versatility for Halle.
@@austingibson9291 I think they're going to have to wait until next album before they really hit it big. There just aren't enough great tracks on their current one to keep them propelling the way they are. Next album though if they get the right producer and the right writers and they keep working on their choreography.. they could become really big. I thing right now people are discovering them which is good, but if they are going to become the next big thing they need to have talent working for them.

That would build confidence for Halle possibly for solo album if she chooses and send chloe to the universe beyond the sky. @@austingibson9291 alright man I'm going to be real here. Not a huge fan of Destiny's Child or Beyonce. I know everyone is going to hate me now but it's just my opinion. We need to get away from that style and get back to that 90s vibes where people didn't just belt things out all the time. That's why Halle is so key here, because she uses dynamics, and her taste is off the charts. I agree she needs to build confidence though before she can do her solo thing. That's why man, you give these girls an Ariana level album with six or seven singles on it, it would be perfect to propel them forward and push Halle into the forefront. But yeah man we got to get away from this Beyonce style man it's not working anymore.

Love both girls..........but sometimes even when both of them are doing runs Chole runs over Halle. I get that vibe of Chole eventually breaking out to become solo. If its a team they equally need to slay not just Chole on most of there performances.

I loooove them, but sometimes chloe does too much. Like it feels forced with her dancing, while Halle moves more effortlessly. Idk maybe chloe is tryna standout more now because Halle is about to blow up more and get more attention once the little mermaid movie comes out. Both voices are beautiful
Chloe's been like this. There's videos here on YT that backs that up, and that's not going to change. She more so has a performative style while Halle's is more conservative, but she pulls out the energy when necessary (ie US Open performance two days ago). They balance each other out, so you get one that's the extrovert and one who's more reserved. Best of both worlds. Let's uplift each girl and not tear one down to uplift the other.

Nah chloe is fine performing the way she does because it comes naturally to her she doesn’t have to dim her light for anybody else she’s been performing to her highest level since they first came out before we ever knew we would be getting a little mermaid movie and she doesn’t,shouldn’t,and won’t stop now
@@mudeasno1baby73 Right! She's been performing hard since their earlier projects and even when they only did covers on youtube, she didn't start giving 110% a year or two ago when Halle got the Ariel part. People are fake fans🙄
Chloe in this performance seemed a lil force but it works for her. Her fans will jump at any criticism towards her. It has to stop lol.
