I will try it but I will line them

This pouch is lined with the backing fabric of the quilt block.

I just made this adorable zip pouch, but, in my opinion, I prefer a lining as my zip got caught a few times.

I topstitch my zipper (sometimes two rows of topstitching) and that prevents the zipper from getting caught.

I’d love to see the topstitching being sewn on the second side of the zip. Videos always seem to skip it as if it’s easy peasy and we’ve seen it a million times. It looks like it’s a royal PITA and I wanna be proven wrong.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll be sure to include that in my next video where I’m topstitching a zipper.

This is great, but I can’t understand why you would use such a large square of fabric and center the zipper for a tab.

I’m not sure I understand your question. I made this zipper pouch using a large quilt block because the idea is to use scrap pieces of quilt blocks to create this zipper pouch. I could have just as easily used two smaller pieces, but then I would have a seam in the bottom of the pouch from where I sewed the two pieces together. Does this answer your question?
