Without a doubt, the score is fantastic as it unfolds a tale of friendships, love, betrayal, power, injustice, corruption, and redemption. No other movie depicts all the emotions so we'll, in any level.
They weren't naked neither half, but the scene was intensely romantic and captivating. We don't make these anymore. One of the GREATEST MOVIE ever made.
@@julietoner2236 Hollywood is awful with romance these days. Lust has overlapped Love in everything from the dumb Marvel movies to the flat Lifetime originals. Ben-Hur was true, innocent, honest and heartfelt romance. So much better, and free of today's cynicism.
I've always felt that this love scene was one of the most moving in movies, and I still do. It shows the genius of William Wyler to bring such intimacy into such grand spectacle.
As Esther brushes away her tears, I need do the same. So few words spoken and yet that simple gesture says it all. So moving, with the soft music in the background and perfect lighting. I am always so in awe of this particular scene. Brilliant film, unequalled performance.
What couple hasn't ever gone through a moment like this? You've both found "The One," you feel the pull and want to embrace but are a little frightened of doing so, and the emotion eventually conquers the fear. Beautifully played by Chuck and Haya. And perfected framed by the director and crrew, the set, the lighting, the camera angles, everything. Nothing made nowadays compares.
Why is it that a film that is over fifty years old has more of an effect on my emotions than most of the garbage Hollywood makes today?.....says a lot about the industry these days...
“You will wear it? Until you meet the woman you will marry?” “Yes. Until then.” (Then proceeds to kiss her) I love Judah and Charlton made his character so interesting and deep.
@@oohnathomas4980 She was so stunning in this film. How she didn't win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress or Best Actress is beyond me! She really was the center of this film for me, as it felt like Judah stayed alive in the hopes of returning not only to his home, mother, and sister, but to Esther as well. So poignant and romantic...
Agreed, although the only other challengers I can think of were also directed by William Wyler - in "The Best years of Our Lives". I always seem to be peeling onions during these scenes...
What a scene!♥️ The dialogue, the voices, Miklós Rózsa’s music…one of the most beautiful LOVE scenes always filmed as part of one of the greatest movies ever done. “If I were not a bride, there would be no good byes to be said”. Pure Love.
Her look, her voice, her demeanor are so quin·tes·sen·tial of a godly and humble woman. I love everything about her in this movie. My kind of woman. Smart, humble, but confident in speaking her mind and know exactly what she she want.
Real love ... brilliant direction, acting, music.. All combined and passing through our nerves, heart and brain...no doubt the entire team those days sent to Hollywood by God.
I can’t believe that some people are now saying this film was undeserving of its 11 Oscars, that nobody remembers it, that it doesn’t hold up. I don’t know what they’re talking about. This film remains spellbinding and emotionally involving from start to finish, due in no small part to the absolutely electric chemistry between Heston and Harareet that just makes you root for them immediately. And Harareet’s character is no damsel; she knows how to stand up to him when the need arises and tell it like it is. It’s her words that make him realize he is losing himself to rage later on. Even though he’s initially her master, a great sense of mutual respect and equality develops between them throughout the film. Ben-Hur will forever be an astounding and magnificent piece of cinema.
❤ apenas y se escribir en. Oro ideoma pero de que hablan y yo queria un hombre asi y creeo que es mejor Dios yo aprendie. Desde niña que Dios ezta conmigo
Only 5 minutes of this film convey more emotions than the 3 hours of Titanic and it won almost the same Oscar awards, How disgusting today's cinema is..
I'm wondering if I'm the only thought that Ben Hur was Charles Heston 🤔 or I'm I the only one wondering if those two men are closely related ? Honestly from I've been watching movies from a child until now these two characters have me confused sometimes 🤦 please somebody 🤷
"If you were not a bride, I should kiss you goodbye". "If I were not a bride, there would be no goodbyes to be said". The greatest movie ever made.
Let me provide a list of the better films..........
............Nope, you are correct. The BEST film ever made!
Without a doubt, the score is fantastic as it unfolds a tale of friendships, love, betrayal, power, injustice, corruption, and redemption. No other movie depicts all the emotions so we'll, in any level.
WHY can't they make classics like this anymore?....
And the most romantic scene ever presented on film.
What a beautiful moment. The nmusic is haunting and she is gorgeous.
They don’t make movies like that anymore. True classic
Oh God. What a beautiful scene and score. Gone are the days of such innocent romance.
They weren't naked neither half, but the scene was intensely romantic and captivating. We don't make these anymore. One of the GREATEST MOVIE ever made.
Agreed it’s beautiful, well written, and passionate a fantastic, timeless movie that more people should see!
Soooo true !!! Hollywood is a cesspool !

Agreed
These two had amazing chemistry...
Oh, yes! Watching the scene, I wondered what Lydia thought when she first saw it ... Probably said to herself, "That's my romantic Chuck 💘❤!"
I've always felt that this love scene was one of the most moving in movies, and I still do. It shows the genius of William Wyler to bring such intimacy into such grand spectacle.
Not to mention the score of Miklos Rozsa.
@@eventcone Absolutely right. Perfect expression of the emotion and deep feeling of the scene.
@@loge10 Yup, now this was acting. Just words, no need for special effects or anything that takes away from the scene.

Miklos Roza was a phenomenal maestro. All his music was and is so emotional. Miss him dearly.

My favorite scene. For me this is the most outstanding love scene in the movies to ever exist.
“You will wear it? Until you meet the woman you will marry?”
“Yes. Until then.”

I love Judah and Charlton made his character so interesting and deep.
One of greatest love scenes of movie history
This scene is sooo beautiful!!!

The last of the cast of Ben Hur, rest in peace lovely lady.

She was born for this role. An amazing performance.
She was so beautiful
Two people who love each other, and that love can't be fulfilled, been there, done that. One of the greatest movies of all times.
Best love scene in cinema.

OK, I'm on a roll..." Roman Holiday", also directed by Wyler, and those damned onions! Wyler was just a genius with emotional intimacy.
They’re in my personal top 10 actor pairings with the best romantic chemistry. It’s absolutely palpable.

No real man could resist that kind of woman ❤

Epic movie great story, acting.
Love the music in this scene 🌹👍🏽
The kiss - so passionate yet so tender. If that scene was filmed today it would be a ridiculous full blown snog, and tenderness be damned.
you can feel their passion, without nude and vulgar scenes. beautiful, innocent and passionate!
Real love ... brilliant direction, acting, music..
All combined and passing through our nerves, heart and brain...no doubt the entire team those days sent to Hollywood by God.
And they dared to make a remake of this?....
And it sucked so bad.....not even a comparison
Judah realizes at the moment after the kiss Esther in love with him. So beautiful this scene ...

A cena mais linda e emocionante do cinema. Ester e Judah, inesquecíveis!❤
There’s never been a more beautiful actress in any role than Haya Harareet as Ester in Ben Hur!!!!
Def one of the most beautiful scenes from THE greatest and most beautiful movie ever made.
I cry every time I see this movie
Haya Harareet should have gotten a supporting Oscar nomination just for this scene alone. What a good and beautiful actress she was!
One of my best scene.great performance

Set the record for most Oscar wins with 11. Only two other movies have matched that number: Titanic and LOTR 3, neither of which had any acting wins.
Watching this on tcm now
Einer der schönsten Filme. Peter Mannheim 😂😂😊
I always had a secret crush on Charleston Heston 😂
This scene is one of the greatest from that excellent movie ❤
