Boom Boom is extremely overused. It really limits the creativity with the boss battles. Kind of similar with the Koopalings, but they're not as bad since they have their own characteristics and abilities.
New Super Mario Bros Wii was one of my favorite games as a kid. That final Bowser boss took me completely by surprise. It’s definitely one of the best boss fights in not only Mario history, but in Nintendo if not all of gaming history.
Yep, I really love New Super Mario Bros. Wii! It has my favorite final Bowser battle ever! I did fall for the Princess Peach decoy, but I knew there was more when Bowser grew into a beeg-beeg boy as there was nothing there but him and me. My grandma gave me an award for defeating Bowser! Edit: My opinion changed last year, and it's now my second favorite, with my most favorite being Mario Galaxy!
The thing about Ludwig in NSMBU is that the easiest way to tell which one of the real one is by looking at who attacks with 3 fireballs. The clones shoot 2 while the real one always shoot three. Plus, if you play with headphones, you hear where he is after each attack.
The music is so epic, I remember I have pass all my summer to beat him with my brothers, and when he deleted the only save where we beat Bowser, we do all of that on speedrun just to fight again bowser. So much nostalgia

Interesting to see Ludwig get all of his fights in pretty much the top half, since he's usually the final koopaling and apparently the smartest one though, it's not too surprising that he bests the others. Also, RIP Boom Boom lmao
In the games, Iggy is goofy and Ludwig is clever, and vain. In the RPG games (like Bowser Jrs Journey, a side-game made in the Bowsers Inside Story Remix) it's even more apparent in their dialogue (I can give an example if you want). Also, in the show, Iggy didn't even exist, right? the 7th koopaling was Lemmy's twin instead?

Beating this game at 5 years of age is pretty impressive! I gotta tip my hat to you! Out of all the New Super Mario Bros series, Wii is easily the hardest version. It gets insanely more difficult with 100% solo, all star coins, no Super Guide, and no game overs. It is just as hard as it is nostalgic, and that's what I love about a game!
I had so much trouble beating the final boss in NSMB2. I was on a vacation in Italy in my hotel room. My sister was sitting next to me. I died over and over and every time Kamek ‘built’ the stage we replicated the sound lmao. When I FINALLY beat it me and my sister were screaming from joy and we don’t even get along very well. I think it took me about 1,5 hour.
As soon as I heard what number 2 was I knew what number 1 was. The pure shock I had finding out that Bowser survived and there's a huge level next to it was unreal

All the Ludwig fights were always my favorites. But the Bowser fights on Super Mario Bros. 2 and the Wii will always be some of the hardest things I ever did in a video game. I used to be able to never pass the bowser bosses in 2, with some extreme struggle and like 50 tries. But they were so much fun I could never get mad
Back in 2009, when the koopalings' return (along with nsmbwii) was announced, I was sooo happy about it! I loved their new style and I loved how Nintendo started this trend to bring back old foes... Then they got in every single game, along with repetitive bosses such as Boom Boom and the Renzors (worst choice ever...seriously nsmb2 boss choice was just weak) Years later, while I still like the koopalings, I think that the original NSMB will always have the best bosses (minus giant Goomba) and probably, will be the best of the series, with U as a close one (they could've used more something similiar to Boss Sumo Bros)
14:40 when I was younger I tried going for 100% completion and i didn’t know the final boss was an entire level and I couldn’t find the last star coin because it was during the fight and I was so mad I never beat that game until over a year later.

I feel like he was used pretty good in 3d land, nsmbds, and nsmb2, where he was used as a harder version as the regular bowser fights, and I hope that they continue to do that other mario games, atleast as maybe as post game new world, like maybe they could have put the bowser car fight in 3d world in one of the special worlds but have bowser be dry bowser like in 3d land
Final Bowser from Wii is my favourite for one reason: It's not a conventional fight. It's a survival fight. Also, since you're ranking bosses, do the Galaxy games as well.
I 100% agree with Bowser from New Super Mario Bros. Wii being the best boss out of the entire series so far. I’ve had this game ever since I was 4-5 years old around 2010. I just love how it references Super Mario Bros. with the first part, but when Kamek/Magikoopa did her thing, I literally got scared once I realized that Bowser grew into Godzilla size and started chasing me. My favorite part of the Giant part is when you get the Propeller suit and that’s when Bowser chases you FOR REAL! Plus, the music makes it way better.
This was a great video! One complaint tho: Ludwig on the Wii isn’t as hard as you made it sound. The first hit can be tricky, but Ludwig flutters in the air for so long it’s easy to predict where he’s gonna be. That, and some bias. Larry is my favorite Koopaling, and all the attention Ludwig gets in his fights kinda makes me salty. Btw, this is his second fight I’m talking abt.
I cannot express how terrified me and my friends were as kids when we got to the final Bowser fight for the Wii. I'm not afraid to admit baby me was basically screaming in panic the whole time-

I also agree that Bowser Wii should be number 1 It makes what seems like the same old song and dance a new fresh experience with giant Bowser, and unlike the WiiU version, Wii Bowser is completely invulnerable and that sells the point that something new needs to be done Another incredible thing is the music score that accompanies the giant segment, it's very evocative and monumental and it feels like it's truly the final battle and it's split into two pieces with the second joining the first in deep voiced choirs when you reach the lava section with the platforms, not to mention that most to all of NSMBWs music was fitting to the atnosphere and very pleasing to hear, world 8s theme really fits where and when the music is played in the world Overall I really think this is a true example of how Bowser should be fought, the guy deserves some credit for the one time he wasn't able to be defeated by something direct from the Mario Bros (powerups, or improvising with something like Bowser Jrs clown car) instead they needed to use his own castle against him
Although I love Wii's final Bowser, my favorite fight of this series has to be vs. Bowser Jr. in World 6 Airship. After a long, challenging World 6, you get to play this really fun airship on the clouds, topping it off with one of the most fun Mario fights. Essentially bumper clown cars in the sky with a dash of electric death! Slamming B-Junes into the tasers is the most satisfying feeling and the sounds plus rumble motion is thrilling! It is so fun but SO SHORT. Why does it have to be only 3 hits?! Out of all the 3 hit fights, I'd pay to love a longer fight for this one. It is that fun! ;D

14:40 when I was younger I tried going for 100% completion and i didn’t know the final boss was an entire level and I couldn’t find the last star coin because it was during the fight and I was so mad I never beat that game until over a year later.
I only have 9-8 left and I got all the star coins and will get my 4th star

I think what this series needs is new original bosses like nsmbds, sure they were easy, but they were fresh
I wish dry bowser was used more. His design is amazing and I wish he was explored more. He is only used for mario kart and random Mario games.

I feel like he was used pretty good in 3d land, nsmbds, and nsmb2, where he was used as a harder version as the regular bowser fights, and I hope that they continue to do that other mario games, atleast as maybe as post game new world, like maybe they could have put the bowser car fight in 3d world in one of the special worlds but have bowser be dry bowser like in 3d land

Final Bowser from Wii is my favourite for one reason: It's not a conventional fight. It's a survival fight.

I 100% agree with Bowser from New Super Mario Bros. Wii being the best boss out of the entire series so far. I’ve had this game ever since I was 4-5 years old around 2010. I just love how it references Super Mario Bros. with the first part, but when Kamek/Magikoopa did her thing, I literally got scared once I realized that Bowser grew into Godzilla size and started chasing me. My favorite part of the Giant part is when you get the Propeller suit and that’s when Bowser chases you FOR REAL! Plus, the music makes it way better.

This was a great video! One complaint tho: Ludwig on the Wii isn’t as hard as you made it sound. The first hit can be tricky, but Ludwig flutters in the air for so long it’s easy to predict where he’s gonna be. That, and some bias. Larry is my favorite Koopaling, and all the attention Ludwig gets in his fights kinda makes me salty. Btw, this is his second fight I’m talking abt.

I also agree that Bowser Wii should be number 1
It makes what seems like the same old song and dance a new fresh experience with giant Bowser, and unlike the WiiU version, Wii Bowser is completely invulnerable and that sells the point that something new needs to be done
Another incredible thing is the music score that accompanies the giant segment, it's very evocative and monumental and it feels like it's truly the final battle and it's split into two pieces with the second joining the first in deep voiced choirs when you reach the lava section with the platforms, not to mention that most to all of NSMBWs music was fitting to the atnosphere and very pleasing to hear, world 8s theme really fits where and when the music is played in the world
Overall I really think this is a true example of how Bowser should be fought, the guy deserves some credit for the one time he wasn't able to be defeated by something direct from the Mario Bros (powerups, or improvising with something like Bowser Jrs clown car) instead they needed to use his own castle against him

The New Super Mario Bros Wii boss battles are just the best (apart from Larry Koopa’s tower battle and Bowser Jr’s first airship fight)

Although I love Wii's final Bowser, my favorite fight of this series has to be vs. Bowser Jr. in World 6 Airship. After a long, challenging World 6, you get to play this really fun airship on the clouds, topping it off with one of the most fun Mario fights. Essentially bumper clown cars in the sky with a dash of electric death! Slamming B-Junes into the tasers is the most satisfying feeling and the sounds plus rumble motion is thrilling! It is so fun but SO SHORT. Why does it have to be only 3 hits?! Out of all the 3 hit fights, I'd pay to love a longer fight for this one. It is that fun! ;D
