After checking comments, I have no idea how I missed the secret ending in 5-2; sorry about that! With that said, I attempt every level in the video anyway so the end result isn't much of a difference; I'll definitely be more aware next time I make another one of these videos :)

A few years ago I also tried to clear levels with just blue shell. I love the blue shell so much I was so sad when it didn't come out for any of the newer NSMB games

Try out newer super mario bros., it's a romhack of new super mario bros that you can play on an emulator. It has the blue shell power up, but you also get a hammer bro projectile with it.
While I never attempted to play the whole game with a blue shell, I did often try to play through levels with just the blue shell back in the day. Yeah, vertical ones are a pain.

Blue shell was my absolute favorite power up! I would always try to beat all mg favorite levels with the shell. I LOVED every single snow themed level with it.

It probably would be fine if they were designed by Nintendo, but when I hear that concept, all I can think of are those flash games where the developer just purposely puts many insanely hard yet boring parts that force you to reset over and over again giving you the impression that the game is long and challenging. However, in Nintendo's case they could probably keep it easy enough for most people to clear yet challenging enough to be fun and throw in a couple interesting mechanics. For some reason I just generally tend to hate games that were designed so that you have to be moving at all times. It just feels restricting.
In this video's case, it's fun and interesting to me because you're trying to play the game in a way it's not normally played, which is also a feature you would probably lack in the game concept you thought of. That being said, it probably would be a relatively fun and successful game, just way outside my demographic.

This game is my childhood! I remember playing this all the time. And yes I loved the blue shell. It was probably my favorite power up. What I also like is that there are completely unique bosses for each level. It isn’t just the koopalings or boomboom like it is today.
i wish the blue shell came back in the New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe/ New Super Luigi. U Deluxe instead of the stupid crown that can only be used by one character, while the blue shell could be accessible with all the characters (exception for Nabbit, who can't use the power ups)

The blue shell is so underrated. You're almost invincible when in it and it's just so good. It'd be better if you could press and hold/ press and relese a button to go in and out of the shell, though

Things I love about these challenges is seeing how the game 'reacts' to them, basically, I guess, seeing what the devs accounted for like, I had no damn idea that the Blue Shell destroyed the snowballs or burrows through the deep snow

In 5 Ghosthouse you can't get to the secret exit while in the shell at all times since you need to climb a vine to get to the part where the door is.

Yeah, practically nobody else knows that here. It's quite disappointing how all these Blue Shell Mario fans don't understand how the powerup affects your movement options.
So you would have to continuously keep getting blue shells every time you died and it would probably take you 10 minutes for just 1 blue shell from a mushroom house. This man deserves a break from his career
if you sprint immediately after spawning in to the screw at the bottom right of the block you will always get a blue shell. you have to angle it so youll hit the button.
