I liked the psuedo debate on mtb and bmx. I appreciate that that Fudger is Bmx to the core. I'm 42 years old and riding mtb helps me to stay strong and passionate as a bmxer. I thoroughly enjoy riding both.
The Dirt Jumper is what kinda renewed my love for riding dirt on my BMX. I run through bigger stuff on the DJ because it’s super forgiving. Then I feel like I’ve already hit it, and my confidence rises on the 20”
think i understand Ryan's point though - we already have equipment that's been designed to perform in a specific discipline; so when you stray from its intended use, it's only handicapping yourself. definitely, would be similar to playing tennis with a baseball bat. years of innovative design have gone into each bicycle for a reason.
Im also surfer, I see biking now like surf, it’s depend the wave 🌊 the board you use, I think bike it’s the same, I will not go a bowl with a MTB, also a mountain with bmx.
Really enjoyed this one, it’s crazy to think how long Anthony has been killing it. Seeing the all the footage was such a throwback. Dew Tour events really were something else. You need to get Tony and Garrett on here!
You definitely ride mtb street, eh? Do whatever you want, of course. The scenario that I’m taking issue with is the rider that effectively rides bmx, follows bmxers, watches videos, etc. but does not buy a single bmx part. He’s experiencing all the culture without helping continue it. That is not a good formula for the future of our industry.
@@OurBMXthis shows you never had a look at a “street mtb” most guys ride bmx cranks, pedals, sprocket and grips and support your industry so yall can survive a couple more years before mtb takes over :)
@@OurBMX "street" mountain biking is an oxymoron 😹 it's not mountain biking when you're in an urban environment. if mtb's were to be enhanced to handle bmx style abuse and characterised with maneuverability, it would then find its evolutionary convergence at the point of the modern bmx bike. years of research and engineering went into both disciplines to achieve optimal performance in their respective fields. i ride both and they are certainly different - but it's the unique experience you get from either that keep me riding both. thank you all for another great podcast!!!
Loved this, anthony has such a wild career, one critique i have though, is that you really need to stop interupting and let him speak, theres points where hes trying to explain something to you guys and you and denis are just having your own conversation, let the man speak 😂
Theres so much to unpack from this knowing Anthony way back, but my first time meeting pre-veneer Daniel Dhers in the Cloud 9 mini is something I'll never forget. His tailwhips were so wild and loose and I thought he was just a crazy Venezuelan man.
@@Anthonynapo I believe it was the first one he landed, he was practicing them in a “Foam pit” they had in the park. It was full of couch cushions and mattress pads. I drove down from Vegas for that contest. It was a sketchy set up. Great podcast so far Anthony, still listening to it 🤙
As dumb as the term may sound "MTB Street" is just the name that was given to anything riding street with bigger wheels. Growing up, anything not 20" was considered not BMX and not cool, so I'm happy to hear you say that riding street on a bigger bike should now be called BMX.
Great episode! Dennis! I think bicycle MOTO cross reffers not to the dirt bike sport but to moto as in 'heats' from race days. Or atleast thats an opinion I read on a british mag from a bmxer whos been in it for many years, wich now thinking about it, makes sense.
Would there be any chance you fellas could get Scotty Cranmer. On your show, he was a beast on a bike until his awful accident,!! Be great to .see him.on for a chat about his life.thanks fella great show you have going on .all.the best from Northern England 🇬🇧!!!
such a great era in bmx to be great in too , walking in to lot8seeing dhers nap warden spinner at the same time an buckworth jones toohey where campers 🍀 glad i got to work on those og down hills jumps an the awesome one aloise created by the track #midschool for life 😂
Side note : just a thought, but maybe mountain dews endgame was to become recognized globally as a household soft drink name. And now that they've achieved that maybe there's no incentive for them to put together those awesome tours/series/contest. Sucks for all the riders/spectator involved but corporations are often cut throat like that. Just my 2 cents and it would be dope to see a contest/tour like that now a days .
We’re the OGs. Maybe grab Claus and Held and build some? We’re old enough to not hafta care about the flak some of our peers give about foam & resi because we still wanna ride, but have families to go to work for now. Shoot, somebody needs to make Kenny’s backyard again! 😂
Hey dudes. I'm an old dude, but I keep seeing shit about this Stevie Churchill guy that disappeared off the face of the Earth. Can you get him in the chair?
How much did the front flip to fence clip make him total? I can understand sponsored BMX riders not divulging how much they make from a company within BMX, but this is pretty much free money from an outside source, be open about it and maybe more riders will licence their clips and make some cash.
Does Dennis really not know that every big mtb company used to have BMX bikes? Trek, giant, specialized, mongoose, gt, diamond back... We just wanted good core bike companies instead of supporting some corporate millionaires
Another pod cast another MTB rant. Seems like you always get in to your disgust with the MTB industry and end up backtracking your statements. If anyone listens to the pod long enough they are going to know your not down with any bikes that aren’t BMX. You always end up being neutral by the end of the rant but a loyal listener to the program know how you really feel. Not calling it out as a negative just calling it out as a fan of the show. It seems to come up every other episode and now it makes me laugh. Love the show don’t take this a insult I don’t have any opinion on this subject I like what I like.
This is probably the most outspoken I have been on the podcast, as I generally want to tread lightly to make sure we don’t go down the silly path. To be clear, my opinions are my own and are more geared towards lines and trends that effect the health of the industry that supports me and a lot of my friends. There’s nothing wrong with being conscious of that, in my opinion. Everyone is free to disregard my opinion as rambling and ride whatever bike makes them happy, of course. Thank you for being a fan of the podcast enough to notice my oddities. 🙌
Besides the taking away bmx industry money I just don’t enjoy watchiny mtb like I do bmx. Imo everything that can be ridden on both bikes looks better on a bmx.

So glad you guys brought the podcast back regularly 🤙🏻🤙🏻
I second this, would love to hear his story
Those bee yellow Hoffman rythems back in the day we're good bikes. I do remember the dreamline tickets were free.
Thanks Bobby!
Great to hear Cam Whites name dropped a few times, I met Anthony at Cam Jam one year, amazing rider and genuine dude.
Super stoked to hear all the love he gave to the boys back home!

Great to see Anthony is continuing on with all forms of bike riding
What a rad dude, really enjoyed that. Some seriously good advice in there too. You're doing it right Anthony🙌
This dude has done it all. Big name in bmx how ever you slice it. Redbull or no redbull he still loves riding.

Anthony is a legend, always killed and a very good human !! nice talk guys !!
Another banger of a guest.
redbull pilot story 👌💯 that's mad!
He killed it in the old Levis vid...... And everything else for that matter........
When he front flipped the Arizona wedge to wedge on road fools that was amazing.
One of my favorite road fools clips man what a classic and how savage of a trick
I remember Dennis doing a 360 double whip on dirt in 2006 at a contest in Compton CA put on by Shaun Butler.
That’s actually the contest that people would ask me about.

I wanted a Nerve bike so bad back when Mike was big I remember reading bmx plus in my school library
Danke!
Thank you!
Nothing but love for Napo.
Dennis's soaked socks making me crack up 😂
Too good.
Finally someone who’s as good as Dennis or better?
“Finally?” Pretty sure if you check their ages……
Both these dudes are top tier though. Wish Drew B was still dropping clips on the 20” too.
I did not realize that Napolitan was front fence death dude! Remember Fudger there are no box jumps in FLA.
Keep em coming 🍿
You guys should do a podcast with Miles Rogoish
I bought a very expensive mtb and broke my wrist and decided bmx was my only true love. Then got rid of the doble suspensión for a tight bmx set up.
What skatepark was that at? the almost colonoscopy

@2:17 - B-Rad too.

Agree with Fudger on this one. Some people try to do silly stuff like MTB in street or slateparks just for Instagram attention. Keep it separate.
Okay fine I’ll be your new employee Fudger! We can work on our tunnel vision while we’re at it…

If street MTB became a thing would be a huge blow to bmx cause they aren’t poor. Would be another piece of the very small pie taken away.
