    2/3 of the way in 👏🏼 This band means so much to me and seeing people discovering them, song by song, emotion by emotion, theory by theory, has been a truly amazing experience. Once TMBTE is done, I definitely suggest you carving out the 3ish hours to listen to them all sreubg together. Its such an impactful experience ❤️

    I know you've already recorded Chokehold....(YESSSSS!!!!) but i love how this song ends with static and the beginning of Chokehold. It goes so well when playing the albums straight through.
    This song didn't get to me the first time I heard it, but I was just sitting at the pickup line at Walmart waiting on my order listening to it when it came on and I just broke down in tears right there in the car.😂😂😂
    I was glad it was a short song because I was able to dry my eyes before they came out with my order😂😂😂. It just depends on your mood when you're listening to their songs but sometimes their more stripped back songs like you say, would just hit you right out of nowhere. Of course that's one of the things we all love about sleep token.
    Glad that we're finally on to TMBTE 😊.... I Love this album because it was my first introduction to them. Not taking anything away from there earlier songs, it's just so apparent the growth that they've done from those albums to this one. I'm looking forward to the rest of the journey. Can't wait for tomorrow 😊😊😊

    The FINALE!! Its so exciting that you've come this far. It's a weirdly bittersweet thing to be excited that you're so close to the end but at the same time its almost the end.
    I'm really curious about how you feel about the album as a whole and in comparison to Sundowning--with TMBTE about to start. Count me in to watch a video on reflecting back on the albums when you get there.
    This song hit me so hard the first time. Vessel was just in his element here wielding his voice like an instrument and dropping such heavy lyrics in a light way/with a light melody.

Hopefully, you'll check out the link I sent you a couple of videos back, where it is just Vessel playing guitar and singing this live. It is worth checking it out for your own personal pleasure. Quoted from other person on another missing limb reaction "“missing limbs” is kinda equivalent to “phantom limb syndrome” where amputees get excruciating pain (mostly psychological) in the spot of said missing limb. So that last line “and I live like I got missing limbs for you” is genius. Vessel is a genius.""

    This album is the start of Sleep Token really mastering the room. Both musically and emotionally. I don't know any band/musician who can fill a (sound)room THAT good, with so many layers but still being able to keep it all apart.
    I'm 100% sure you will enjoy TMBTE immensely 😁 And I don't know if you or somebody else mentioned this already (or if it is your plan already), but don't skip the 2 tracks you already know. They belong in the whole "story" of the album.

    Something I think that will serve you well is coming into TMBTE, you’ll catch some interesting musical ties based on how deeply you seem to listen.
    Another great reaction! Worship

      I understand that, I am going to try to incorporate that and might even make a video once they have all sunk in. I feel I need to explain something though. The reason I love music so much is literally because I have never needed to listen to the words. I used to absolutely love instrumental music for this reason. I have always had problems misunderstanding, being misunderstood etc (not going to go into all that) but with music, I never had to worry about any of that. I just listened to the notes. The notes literally make me feel more than lyrics do most of the time.
      As I have said, going forward I am going to try to breakdown and give my opinions on the lyrics. But please, be ready for it to not be as good or entertaining as when I am just listening to the song 😂
      Thank you for watching as always Dolly, I am glad you are enjoying them and I hope you continue to do so!
      There is a good chance I may start reigning back the replies to people asking about lyrics. Not because I don't like what is being said or because I disagree or anything like that, I just feel like I am having to explain myself a lot on this subject 😂

      @@BraindeadBreakdown Fair! And as someone who grew up in music, I think you get to pick up on nuances in the music that crosses the albums. I know compared to my friends who were very lyric driven, I could point out other things like chord progressions or tunings that came around- not just lyrical references- and it’s honestly made me a bigger fan.
      As for not liking it as much… meh, some may not, but some of us will. I think the additional discussion you’ll get from the comments will be really fulfilling and fun. Don’t be so hard on yourself. And feel free to call me Demo, since I most often go by that.
      Not sorry for the wall of text in return! 🤣

      I am looking to doing a deep dive for those reasons 😊 Most of my spare time for the past couple of months have been recording and editing though so I still haven't has a chance. Once I have finished the main journey I am going to only be doing a video a day instead of 2 though. It will give me more time for each video and more time to investigate some of the nuance 😊 I started the ST journey doing 2 videos a day (ST and something else) and promised myself I would see it through. Hopefully once I am done with 2 a day, the ratio will start to go in the favour of quality over quantity.
      Also, don't worry. I still have plenty of ST ground to cover once the main journey is over 😊

    • @stonekeeper09
      @stonekeeper09 9 месяцев назад +1

      Understand what you mean about instrumentals. Am a big Vai and Satriani fan and it's a real trip to get lost in their music. But just like it's ok to be emotionally open about ST music, it's also fine to be subjective on the lyrics. There is no right answer. Having watched a few lyric breakdown reactors (project Jango went deep) I found that the different perspectives and things people thought brought insane depth to the meaning of songs. It sounds like you're worried about people judging you. I don't think you need to worry about that mate! We're keen to hear because you've become part of some of our daily lives and we're here for it. That being said, never do what you genuinely don't want to do. Keep being you 👍

  • @cgollimusic
    @cgollimusic 9 месяцев назад +6

    Yeah I think this album (and track) comes to much more appreciation on subsequent listens. The track is absolutely beautiful and once you get into the lyrics and make up what Vessel's words are all about (which I highly recommend you do before you dive into the 3rd album) it just hits. You'll do as you feel, but my suggestion would be to have a listen to the two albums before TMBTE with lyrics open and try to grasp a little. Maybe even do a video about it or something. But yeah either way, I'll be waiting for Chokehold.
    You also realise on subsequent listens that High Water is the real album end, with Missing Limbs I treat as a sort of epilogue/reflection after the end; like I always see slow tracks at the ends of albums.
    But yeah this is the lowest point. Absolute rock bottom metaphorically.

  • @miss__anthropy

    This actually sounds really great when you have the album on repeat and it goes from that static noise straight into Atlantic, it’s a very eerie vibe but a cool one.
    Definitely want your perspective eventually on all of it! Even just a review album by album, and then of the whole trilogy.
    Speaking of… has anyone mentioned that in the comments yet? Sleep Token have never officially verified this to my knowledge, but someone started saying the three albums are a trilogy (starting with Sundowning and ending with TMBTE) and it’s sort of caught on with The Lore of the band. It also… uh, well, the theory checks out when you finish it!
    AND!! I have a potential solution for those of us who have been nit-picking how best to go about Euclid (lyrics/no lyrics) in the comments. Would you be willing to watch a lyric video? There’s no visualizer for the song, but there is a lyric video that’s good (though admittedly a bit distracting to the ADHD brain). But I would argue that song is the most important lyrically, by far.
    And hey, I’m glad you jumped on the Sleep Token train and have given us these reactions ☺️ They’ve been wonderful and heartfelt and it’s not at all surprising you’ve seen an exponential jump in subscribers. Keep up the good work 😊

    • @BraindeadBreakdown
      @BraindeadBreakdown  9 месяцев назад +1

      The looping makes a lot of sense. I will try that when I listen to the whole thing in one go.
      The theory has been mentioned a little bit, usually in the context of how it relates to the song though. So I don't know much outside of the base theory (and I don't want to yet either 😂)
      If the lyric video is the main video, there is a good chance it will be what I go with. I can't promise I won't get lost in the music still though. I will still go over the lyrics afterwards either way, you will see how I am approaching that in tomorrows video 😊
      Thank you so much (as always) for watching! I am hoping the momentum still continues after I finish the main Sleep Token journey!

    • @miss__anthropy
      @miss__anthropy 9 месяцев назад +1

      Sadly the main video is just the TMBTE album cover (the moon), no lyrics. But hey, I’ll shut up about it until I see how you approach it in the next video! Although I still love the idea of you livestreaming the end, that would be sick 😅
      There’s not really any more to the trilogy theory than what I told you-it really just seems that someone had that idea, it spread, and then became the going theory. For all we know it could be Vessel sitting behind the keyboard spreading various ideas to see what catches on 😂

      @@BraindeadBreakdown Ah balls, you’re right, that would definitely kill the vibe 😅
      Also saw in another reply that you’re tired of explaining about the lyrics so I will try to shut up about them! And I do admire that you can pick so much out of just the music. I played bassoon and saxophone for 7 years but I never really “got” music, and to this day the idea of hearing something in your head and then just making it a reality is insane to me. Even just being able to listen to something and then play it back. I think it’s a testament to how brains are all wired differently!

    OKAY TIME FOR MY THEORY TEDTALK.
    CW: unaliving; mis****age; spoilers for Over the Garden Wall, I guess?
    I have a theory that Vessel is a big Over the Garden Wall fan, and that the entirety of Tomb is essentially the same concept as Wirt and Greg's journey through the Unknown. That concept being that the majority of the story is the protagonist existing in limbo as they are drowning, journeying through their pain and addressing the emotions within them and "getting a second chance," in essence.
    Atlantic is the aftermath of a car accident that was into the ocean (think British highways along the water). Have a strong theory that they lost a pregnancy during that accident, as well. He then tries to unalive himself via drowning (or whichever method) in Hypnosis - "and I am almost under." From there on, he's in a limbo state, going through the stages of his life/relationship and working through shit.
    Missing Limbs feels like acceptance, in a way - that he knows he just has to live with this hole in him. Finally, at the end of Missing Limbs, that noise (to me) sounds like an ambulance siren coming through water - slowly getting louder as he's being pulled out by EMS. It turns into a frenzy of static and what almost sounds like a scream as he's lurched out of his tomb - cycling back around to the events of Atlantic following the aftermath of the accident.
    Okay I'm done. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.
