I'm convinced the end of this song is the sound of UK ambulance sirens through water. He is being pulled up from the water toward the surface. I also think this entire album is him working through the stages of grief while in a liminal state of drowning while trying to unalive. Not sure if you've seen Over the Garden Wall, but *START SPOILER* the whole story kind of happens while a character is suspended in water, drowning, and has an epiphany that brings them back to consciousness. *END SPOILER* This whole album reminds me of that structure.
I would love to hear your updated thoughts and opinions on the take me back to Eden songs you've already listened to, whether you choose to relisten to the songs on video or just break down the lyrics I would love to hear what you think with the current narrative. I believe you are on the right path with some theories and they'll definitely be expanded upon with the third album. When one goes through the stages of grief, it's not uncommon to dip in and out of each stage, or revisit a stage. They don't necessarily need to be sequential or in any specific order. Also, what if he is referring to himself? What if he gained a self of awareness or 3rd person POV with the power of Sleep?
"To remember what I did before, The stories that you never told to me" My interpretation is that he did some things in the relationship and didn't realize how it affected her at the time. We've probably all done that - said something, did something, did not do something - and it hurts the other person and they didn't let on but it festers and builds. And the "him" simply means that she moved on and is now with that 'him', and Vessel still misses her.
