My mom got to see Rattle and Hum in theaters. I’m 18 and I grew up on their music, and for my high school graduation my mom found a copy of the DVD. U2 is truly unparalleled. I get told a lot that I have a middle aged dad’s taste in music, but good god…. If this isn’t the most emotion packed into a song I’ve ever heard. U2 will forever be my favorite band and have a special place in my heart. Edit: 21 now, and this is still my favorite song and favorite band. I always come back to this video.
I have watched this literally thousands of times since it came out. I've worn out over 10 copies of this movie. Bad and With or Without you are legendary in the film.
This was their pinnacle. Plateau on the Joshua Tree and downhill from there. There was no 'feeling' in their songs after this and Joshua Tree. The anger had gone. Replaced by a wonderfully poignant line in God Part II (Rattle and Hum): "Don't believe in riches but you should see where I live" Sums it up really
I like how Bono sings stones at the end. If U2 and the Rollling Stones did a concert together. The universe would not survive the coming together of such awsomeness.

Back when this Movie came out in the theatres , I saw this movie 8 times until it stopped being screened just to hear this again and again and again I could not let it go and now in my 40s this song will not fade away :-)

I was at this performance at Arizona State Univ.'s Sun Devil Stadium in 1987. Was excellent. They sold tickets for $5 to ensure a fully packed stadium both nights---they started and ended that tour (Joshua Tree) at the same venue and filmed the ending concerts for this film.

Saw twice on the rattle and hum tour. Wembley Arena London. Was and aways will be the most moving concert I have ever been to. We walked all we way to the tube station about a mile away singing the last song This is my fave version and still go back to it. Had the VHS tape of the concert then the DVD. Went to see them a few day later at the old Wembley stadium but the magic was not there. A few year later went to the Zoo tour and they had changed not the same band for me.

I remember seeing this in the theater about 6 times. SOOO awesome....What they need to start doing is having U2 nights....Red Rocks, Rattle and Hum, U23D and any number of concert DVDS thrown in (Slane, Boston, Chicago etc...)

I grew up to my dad’s VHS of this film. It shaped my whole taste in music. You couldn’t ask for a better gift from your parents than Rattle and Hum.

The incredible passion, soul and richness of Bono voice is just simply bone chilling.

At 13, this was the 1st CD I ever purchased. Before that, it was all cassette tapes. Haha. I remember opening up that cardboard packaging.
