  • I needed to crackle paint a couple projects and I was having trouble finding my usual product locally, so I was thrilled when I found Mod Podge Crackle on the shelf at Hobby Lobby. (By the way I always say Modge Podge.. sorry, I can’t break the habit) However, after buying it, then watching some RUclips review videos, I was very skeptical about how effective this product would be. So I started to experiment with it, and the results surprised me!
Let me know what your experience has been with this product!
    Thanks for watching!

An artist friend once said they experiment with all sorts and has once painted with coffee by mistake when thinking she'd washed her brush in water! It's good to keep going and you've proved that. I really like your little dish :)

I love product reviews like this. It did turn out cute. So many people use Mod Podge for so many different things. The only criticism I've ever heard was that over time it might yellow. I haven't used it myself. But it seems to be a versatile product.

I agree reviews help so much!
I’ve used Mod Podge for years for various things (decoupage mainly) but never their crackle product. Maybe it’s new/ish?
Thanks for watching the video 😊

Now... I'm all for experimenting and I can only appreciate you showing how you went about it. BUTT... from the start, you seem to have done almost the exact opposite of what it says on the bottle. Which reads:
[Apply a thin even coat in one direction with even strokes. Do not apply a second coat. Avoid over-brushing. Let dry completely 1 hour. Cracking shows when the medium is dry. [...] Full cure time 4 weeks.]

Ah! Fair enough! I notoriously don’t follow directions well and work intuitively. During this process is when I discovered that there was a difference between crackle medium, which I have lots of experience with, and a medium that crackles! So yes, it was a video of discovery! 😁

Try to put layer of ordinary PVA and on the top of wet glue very delicately layer of paint . Very good result, much better than mod podge crackle. Thank you for sharing now I know what not to buy. Very informative and truthful review, thank you so much 😅

tried it, but it did not work, very disappointing, watched several videos, doesn't matter what I did, did not crackle...worthless.
