We all should forever be grateful that Larry Chen became a photographer. The places he has been, people he has associated with, and vehicles he shoots are amazing. What a dope life. How lucky we are to see it "through his lens."
Thank you for this video, it was an incredible trip back in time to my college years. I was lucky enough to own a 3000 GT when I was 20 years old, and it is still one of my favorites to this day.
This was an amazing video and it really took me back to the 90s. The fact all of the cars were red was a nice touch. Even without a GTR it really made my day to watch. Thanks to everyone who made it
She’s a champ, from that vs another thing, to racing a helicopter to the future. As a father of 3 girls, she’s a reference for me when speaking on becoming proficient and happy with what you do no matter if it’s cars or legal counselor. Proof you gotta be determined and present, or you’ll just end up talking about it.
I would be stoked to have any of these cars! But there is just something about a 3000gt vr4 that I just love! They’re so rare and you never really see any around, and any that are done right.
I moved to Los Angeles in 1978. Mid 80's to mid 90's was epic. I had a 89' CRX-Si lowered with huge 16 inch wheels, Greddy exhaust and K&N intake. Mulholland Drive, Sunset Blvd from PCH to Hollywood. Cruising Westwood and Hollywood blvd on Friday and Saturday nights. Crusing Crenshaw blvd on Sunday. Those were the days. I moved to Michigan in 95' I sold my CRX and now have a WRX and Forester X both modified. Thanks for bringing back memories.
Dream collection here. I owned two RX7s back in the day. Almost bought a 300zx but never got around too it. I grew up admiring the JDM cars of the late 70's through the 90's. Too many good cars made during that era. The romance of that time period will never be replicated going forward. Especially with electric taking over.
The RX-7 is maybe the most beautiful sports car ever made. Love the NSX and would honestly rather own the NSX because of the reliability but that Mazda. *chef’s kiss*.
I don't often get nostalgic, but there is something about remembering a time when you could buy an interesting car without breaking the bank because not everything was R A R E
I can't wait to own a Z32 someday, awesome video! I've been watching Emelia since her Subaru wagon and it's so awesome to see how happy she is doing what she loves and how far she came to empower more passionate people to get into cars
I had 93 TT Z32.. I’ll go ahead and warn you right now, it’s going to be everything you imagined it would be and odds are, you’re actually going to end up loving it more than what you initially thought you would. So keep that goal alive.. you’ll be glad you did.
This is the 5th time I’ve watched this episode. I’ve watched her side of it like 3 times too haha My first print I get from Larry will be this shot of the cars w/ downtown in the background when I get settled into my new apartment. I was born in LA and lived there till 1995 & I miss it. So living in Houston now, I definitely need a small piece of home. Much love and respect.
Yay, my car (Impreza coupe) was in the lineup! I want all of them, particularly the RX7 FD, Mk 4 Supra, and the NSX. As a 90s kid who played Gran Turismo and watched Initial D, I was in awe of these cars. So when I saw an Impreza coupe for sale back in 2008, I jumped on it fast. Now it's worth more than I initially paid for it, but I'm keeping it.
This Emelia Hartford chic is berserk.. really like what she did with her Subaru. She’s definitely a gear head-et. Seeing the Z in this video brought back some memories. I had a red 93 Twin Turbo back in the day, one of the best cars I ever owned and the only one I truly miss…. and that was 20 years ago.
Awesome video Larry. Kudos to both you and Emilia. Loved all the great photography work and the details on each of the cars. I never should have left S. Cal. Have while you can.
WOWWAWEEEWAH! Watching this @ 7:55am, I wasn’t RED-y for this warm & fuzzy feel that I’m getting! *NOSTALGIC! 😱😭🥹 Thank you for a purely GENUINE-vibed-ez-and-fun-to-watch video, featuring some of the 90’s FINEST JDM’s (plus, the ‘JDM-ELiA’ SUBARU STI - WOW!) IMPREZZIVE!! @Emeliahartford is RED-iculously talented. Every, single vehicle in this video… just IMMACULATE & inc-RED-ibly well-built!! 🙏🚗🚘🏎 Thank you Thank you for starting my Saturday morning off RIGHT! I’m feeling so inspi-RED & eager to SEIZE THE DAY!!!!
You cannot talk about JDM without mentioning the movie that brought them into the spotlight. What is even more amazing is the FACT that many of these cars were not TRACK WORTHY and the ones that were came from Japan in limited numbers. What is even more mind blowing is GMs 6th gen ALPHA CHASSIS CARS fulfilled the promise that Japanese manufacturers did not, but were scorned from the beginning by the very same crowd that WORSHIPPED JDM. The NSX promise fulfilled is the C8, AND EVERYBODY FLIPS THEM for cash.
I was on a cruise only yesterday with two R32 GTRs, on of which was a N1, a Kenmeri shape Skyline, a 370Z, a Mustang, aRS5, an Evo 7 and my 1976 two door Galant, and when Emilia said she wondered what people were knew were thinking, I knew what she meant. Lol
Thanks for sharing. That pic of all the cars on the road (the money shot) with the city in the skyline was my fav. Where can we find the pics from this shoot/ drive? Would love to view them all. Great Chanel btw. 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏽
1980 RX7, 1984 Supra, 1985 300ZX, 1986 RX7 Turbo, 1992 RX7, 1994 Supra, 1996 NSX-T. I'm forgetting a bunch of others, but I owned these cars back in the day, and I bought them new. I'm 60 now, and I'm having a great time watching a new generation discovering and enjoying them all over again. Edit: I also owned a Mitsu 3000GT and AWD Eclipse Turbo.
@@bear1245 That's a really tough one. the 92 RX7 was the fastest (stock, I modded everything in those days). But the 94 Supra was my favorite. It took mods so easily, getting another 100hp was so easy (and cheap). They were all very reliable.
I AGREE I used to watch her when she first STARTED.Just a girl, that lived the Car scene did know how to get there but she was determined to film record ,what EVER was going on. She didn't have much! This IS LARRY at his BEST, being with the ENTHUSIAST'S that live the life.
I remember growing up in the 90s and seeing the 3000GT VR-4 in the showroom at the local Mitsubishi dealership. Not just any 3000GT VR-4, but the 99' model. When I was 24 I finally got one. I must say I am a proud owner of a running 3000GT/GTO VR-4 that has the full 99 body. Love this car so much and will probably keep it until the day I die. This coming from someone who has owned two Nissan GT-Rs the first year release and then the 2012 Black Edition. As well as a Evo X MR, ITR, and currently a Subaru WRX STi. Always loved AWD cars and will always have one. Though all of my cars have been Black :D I did want an Eclipse from the late 90s, but that is probably never going to happen as most of them are either total trash or tuned to death.
Finally a video of most of my dream cars and all in the color i want. Its nice to see a 3000GT/GTO with its rivals. Its a car thats always been left out.
The car prices really make me upset. Now that I have a job where I can afford cooler stuff....I have been completely priced out of many JDM cars. This was an amazing shoot and would have loved to see it in person. A GC8 Subaru is on the very top of my dream car list.
I‘m not a JDM guy but these cars are beautiful. They kinda look better in 2022 compared to when they came out in the 90s. Body lines are calm and cool. No crazy shapes, angles and body lines. You don‘t see that design philosophy on any 2022 car any more. Really appreciated this video.
Unfortunately missing the Eclipse GSX and the NISSAN 240sxs and the skyline in the line up . I feel like those are missing icons from this shoot and the evo of course but it was not offered in the states
As a child of the '70s and '80s, I was appreciative of the OGs of these cars; 280Z, Celica Supra, Conquest Tsi, I also appreciate how gracefully these cars evolved into the 90s. Underrated decade from Japan full of R&D and innovation.
BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!!! Also my passion! I've owned my 1988 10th anniversary RX-7 for 24 YEARS! And I'm currently doing a full motor swap , YES still a ROTARY OFCOARSE!!!
We all should forever be grateful that Larry Chen became a photographer. The places he has been, people he has associated with, and vehicles he shoots are amazing. What a dope life. How lucky we are to see it "through his lens."
That 3000GT is simply a unicorn at this point💯
Thank you for this video, it was an incredible trip back in time to my college years. I was lucky enough to own a 3000 GT when I was 20 years old, and it is still one of my favorites to this day.
That shot of all six cars with LA in the background is INSANE! Amazing shot!
i freeze video to screen shot that one
That's why he makes the big bucks. Dude is a legend.
Came here to write this. @larrychenphoto please make that available for purchase
Unreal!!
Fantastic
This was an amazing video and it really took me back to the 90s. The fact all of the cars were red was a nice touch. Even without a GTR it really made my day to watch. Thanks to everyone who made it
Such a great sight to see! Also, Larry always seems like the coolest, most genuine dude around.

Bravo!!! Love the content, good job Larry and CrEw!
Love all of these cars!!! NSX and Supra were always my favorites
Hagerty hit a home run bringing in Larry Chen for this series !!!!!! Emelia is spectacular !!!!
Duuuuuuuude i subbed because of that
I'm proud to say I owned two of them (3000GT, 300ZX) in the 90's. Such a great decade. Great opening shot BTW. 😍
Dream collection here. I owned two RX7s back in the day. Almost bought a 300zx but never got around too it. I grew up admiring the JDM cars of the late 70's through the 90's. Two absolute badass people. Awesome vid. Really love the Subie, VR4 and the Supra. What a lineup!
Another shoot needed.....include the MR2, Integra......great video!!!

Pffffffffhahahaha, that was such a Hoonigan moment from Vinnie... 😂😂😁😁🤘🤘
Amazing video. Thank you!

Rx7 is still the most beautiful design ever.
That NSX just stands out wow

MR2 turbo is missing for sure.
Supra has the best red. That deep red
Larry getting the non planned shots is like a little kid opening a Nintendo 64 in Christmas of 1998
Hi, an amazing shoot, very cool cars with some fantastic shots, and especially capturing all 6 with LA in the background...cool 😎
Awesome video Larry. Kudos to both you and Emilia. Loved all the great photography work and the details on each of the cars. I never should have left S. Cal. Have while you can.
Why would you leave this magical place?!
Talk about ULTIMATE? SHEESHS!!! Yes, please! I'll take 'em all but Supra is my favorite since Road & Track magazine articles from like '93-'94.
The wrx coupe is stunning but the stance on that NSX is just perfect👌 eye pleasing😍
WOWWAWEEEWAH! Watching this @ 7:55am, I wasn’t RED-y for this warm & fuzzy feel that I’m getting! *NOSTALGIC! 😱😭🥹

That NSX is my dream car
Here for the 3000GT Boys thumps up!
Thank you for doing this video.
Badass lineup.
Proud Z32 owner here. 🤙
This needs to happen again with the Nissan GTR and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo
Hagerty is gold
I was on a cruise only yesterday with two R32 GTRs, on of which was a N1, a Kenmeri shape Skyline, a 370Z, a Mustang, aRS5, an Evo 7 and my 1976 two door Galant, and when Emilia said she wondered what people were knew were thinking, I knew what she meant. Lol
This IS the era when they made the best JDM cars, EVER. Everything else that come afterwards is a pale facsimile of them! Rock-On the 90's😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Amazing video/photos/cars/peeps!!!!
Thanks for sharing. That pic of all the cars on the road (the money shot) with the city in the skyline was my fav. Where can we find the pics from this shoot/ drive? Would love to view them all. Great Chanel btw. 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏽
I didn’t know who she was until this video and what an incredible lady. Her smile embodies what happiness looks like anddd I think I fell in love 😂😂
Bro she’s the girl we all want but can’t get. 😂
You've got a ton of catching-up to do! Enjoy. This Emelia is great. Early Emelia, even better!

This IS LARRY at his BEST, being with the ENTHUSIAST'S that live the life.
If I saw this group of cars cruising next to where I live...I could cry happy tears (no kidding)
All such beautiful iconic cars, I just wish they showed more of the 3000gt thou
Love all the cars, if it were me it would be between the RX-7 and the NSX
Awesome Video. If I won big money I would have all of these, it's all about 90s jdm, friggin love it
As 3000gt owner it was nice to see it in the mix
3000gt/GTO beautiful car...
Wow. That picture!!!
I remember growing up in the 90s and seeing the 3000GT VR-4 in the showroom at the local Mitsubishi dealership. Not just any 3000GT VR-4, but the 99' model.

I did want an Eclipse from the late 90s, but that is probably never going to happen as most of them are either total trash or tuned to death.
Needed the mr2 turbo 93 in there.
90’s Dream Cruise!
3000gt looks SO good! Definitely my pick
What an EPIC video.
My daughter loves Emelia Hartford. Fav car is the supra and the BMW m2 comp. So proud. TY Hartford.
That Supra though 😍
The Mitsubishi 3000gt VR4 my favorite 👍👍👍
9:43 that’s a heavenly sight🫡
3000GT for life 🙌
Brutal that the MR2 is not in this video. The SW20 is a masterpiece.
How does the SW20 always gets left out
Emelia’s Susie the subie is the jammiest of jams.
FINALLY this video IS Outi!
If I saw this on the highway. I'd probably ditch whatever plans I had and just cruise alongside so many of my favorite Japanese cars
That 3000Gt tho 😍😍😩 I've got an 08 Eclipse Gt, but you best believe once I get the money and can find one, I'm buying a 3000Gt.
Super cool shoot only thing missing is my red is300 😂👍🏾👍🏾
Is THAT a SHOTGUN exhaust on the FD3S? ❤❤❤
If a tuner isn't breaking their cars, they aren't even trying.
She is freaking awesome with a great taste in cars.
I used to own a 3000GT. Beautiful car.
nice to see a 3k in a video on a well known channel.
@larry chen...i have the same lineup of cars(sans subie) but all mine are custom single turbo with the exception of the NSX, its supercharged.
Finally a video of most of my dream cars and all in the color i want. Its nice to see a 3000GT/GTO with its rivals. Its a car thats always been left out.
Exactly
I miss my 3000gt! I have 2 cons against them. They are unreliable as a daily, and they are a pain in the ass to work on 😂
Was better than most from factory but forgotten. Great cars when looked after correctly. 😍 Them all but I own a gto tt so I'm biased
more videos like this please!
The car prices really make me upset. Now that I have a job where I can afford cooler stuff....I have been completely priced out of many JDM cars.
This was an amazing shoot and would have loved to see it in person. A GC8 Subaru is on the very top of my dream car list.
I'm in the same route where I'm moving to the domestic market.
90's Legends Thank you!!!
LANCER EVO only missing :) ... amazing video !

If I had to pick one car out of the bunch it would be the Subaru Amelia’s Subaru nice job big ups
I love the vid thanks for making ass an owner of a tt z32 I love 90s cars
BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!!! Also my passion! I've owned my 1988 10th anniversary RX-7 for 24 YEARS! And I'm currently doing a full motor swap , YES still a ROTARY OFCOARSE!!!
Need a intergra or ek9 type r in that group.
*Only people who didn't come from Instagram and TikTok are worthy of liking this* 👍
I'm Here!
YES YES YES!!!!
The NSX is so understated it's almost invisible.
Jza80 SUPRA *GASP! 😱 SUP-RED-ING THE JDM LOVE! 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
Oh man! 3000GT! It was ahead of its time. Beautiful car!
Bro where's the MR2???
Another rare forgotten JDM would have been a Subaru SVX. Those have potential as well.
Where's the MR2 😕
