Granted most apartments/rentals expect a single payment 1x a month, I know there are some that are willing to work with people and do payments bimonthly/semimonthly I get the feeling that “Angel” was just squirreling the money that was being paid to her in installments and ~NOT~ paying the rent to the landlords, while only paying the rent for those that were paying *HER* in full in a single payment… Even if she were, most of these people would still be subject to eviction because none of them were on the leases Angel was basically renting a ton of places under her own name and illegally subleasing to others for a profit (if the featured lady was paying $1,700 to Angel, then Angel was likely only paying $1,500 or less on the actual rental term… except she wasn’t paying it… but that’s likely what was ~SUPPOSED~ to be getting paid) The woman and her kids seemed to finally have a foothold on their situation; Angel did the whole family and apparently many others dirty AF This lady seemed to have managed to have the dollars to get into a place, but it could’ve been her credit score that was keeping her from getting a place… she might’ve hit hard times in recent years (likely as she was relegated to her truck) and been hit with an eviction strike on her rental history… technically this one isn’t in ~her~ name at least, but still This whole situation is super messed up. Hopefully her lawyer can get her some restitution and might be able to line her up with some *LEGIT* housing placement assistance It’ll be rough for the short term, but hopefully things pick up for her soon and for the long term

Renters, always check out the property records to see who the real owner of the property is and speak to them directly. I hope all the scammers get caught and put in prison for life
This type of scam needs a lot more coverage. With the housing market being snatched up by investment firms it is a lot harder to actually meet the owner of your property, making this sort of scam very easy to pull off with a little knowledge of the rental and legal aspects. And there are decent landlords out there that are actually trying to get people into good homes and make it as affordable as possible. I hope someone steps up and gives this mother an honest chance instead of trying to steal her life away.
It's hard to know if anyone is the actual owner, years ago my brother and his wife rented from who they thought was the owner. Turned out it was someone who had rented, then posed as the owner and took deposits and a couple months of rent before just taking off. So unless you ask to see the deed or whatever, how do you really know and even that could be fake. It's crazy and sad.
That's cheap for a 2 bedroom house... where I live a 3 bedroom APARTMENT is almost $3000 a 1 bedroom house is about $1700... So a 2 bedroom for $1700 is good.

I was never married to my daughters mother and she had gotten arrested for dealing drugs so the landlord served her with the eviction notice and lol created a new lease with just my name and my daughter. But then happened 7 years ago. Wow it’s been that long since I was stressed out the most. She fed drugs to my daughter too and she was both physically and mentally abusive to my daughter and to me. I’ve developed blood clots and other issues that are life threatening and she one instance refused to call for an ambulance because I had multiple blood clots in both lungs and was hospitalized for 2 weeks 6 days after we had just moved in back in 2012. And she’s refusing her orders concerning visit next month on Mother’s Day. Her only visit which is supervised. Yet she has slandered me so much that I have no support left in this state. I feel or have more sympathy for the woman in this video than that evil woman who lived here

I had a friend who moved into a house. Turns out, it was already in process of the bank foreclosing on the property. The landlord pocketed all her rent and never made the mortgage payments. Less than 6 months in the house, bank evicted my friend.

They don't have the credit to rent from real property managers. Their applications would be denied & I don't blame them. They need housing for those types of people.
I almost failed for these rental scams, I am experiencing homelessness with a special needs child and no one willing to rent to me. I have no eviction, low fico score and still can’t get anything.
You just figured out what one of the main causes for homelessness and eventually substance abuse. How much can someone in her position get taken advantage of before they really do give up. And this is not new, landlords have been doing the same thing to their poorest clients. Get them moved in and then evict for something technical because they have no one to turn to for help.
I totally get that the property managers or owners don't have any culpability in it. But what's the problem with letting the people stay as long as they continue to pay the rent, but they have been paying and if there's a difference in each month rent pay that? It's kind of indifference to a real legal and morally wrong "being done to someone" that the person who own the property can help with.

if the actual tenants can show they have been paying rent, you would think the actual landlord would give them a chance to become the legal tenant through the landlord. landlord can work with tenant to pay a new deposit over time, but market rent may actually be a lot higher which is a problem.

My eviction paperwork did not even have the correct address! Not even close. There were so many errors during the 10 month ordeal.

How can anyone tell what is real any more? All these lies everybody keeps getting away with. "Oh, here is my Facebook page"? There is no control over who signs up claiming to be a legit business.

They don't have the credit to rent from real property managers. Their applications would be denied & I don't blame them. They need housing for those types of people.

I almost failed for these rental scams, I am experiencing homelessness with a special needs child and no one willing to rent to me. I have no eviction, low fico score and still can’t get anything.

You just figured out what one of the main causes for homelessness and eventually substance abuse. How much can someone in her position get taken advantage of before they really do give up.
And this is not new, landlords have been doing the same thing to their poorest clients. Get them moved in and then evict for something technical because they have no one to turn to for help.

I totally get that the property managers or owners don't have any culpability in it.
But what's the problem with letting the people stay as long as they continue to pay the rent, but they have been paying and if there's a difference in each month rent pay that? It's kind of indifference to a real legal and morally wrong "being done to someone" that the person who own the property can help with.

if the actual tenants can show they have been paying rent, you would think the actual landlord would give them a chance to become the legal tenant through the landlord. landlord can work with tenant to pay a new deposit over time, but market rent may actually be a lot higher which is a problem.
