This video show some of the highlights of the making of “The Pond”.
"The Pond" is part of a series of works titled “On the Surface” In this series I explore textures man made and natural and how they evoke memories and emotions. This work was inspired by the many lovely days I have explored The Botanical Gardens in my home town Sydney Australia. I have been visiting the gardens since I was a tiny girl with my parents. It has become a favorite place to visit with my children and now my grandchildren. The Pond evokes so many happy family memories.

Wow, words cannot express how beautiful this is, or maybe I’m stuck for words, because i always love all your pieces. This one is so so cheery, i love it. And of course, I love flowers, so it’s a win win for me. Great job Cathy! ♥️♥️♥️♥️😘
Taking it to a new level!! Saying its beautiful doesn't do it justice. Great artwork. Stunning. Thanks for showing the techniques.
I just watched again...so beautiful...all the detail blows me away 💗💗💗💗
Cathy Lane woohoo, can’t wait...and if you don’t mind, I will share it in my online Facebook page. Here’s my new website, but it just routes to the existing one. But it is easier to find with the new webpage.

WOW - such a BEAUTY!!! stunning ART! thank you
Really beautiful, lots of work with different medias makes me wish I had gone to art classes I have very fond memories of my Dad doing his art wanting to teach me stuff and all I wanted to do was play Roy Rogers in the back yard with the Kids around the neighbourhood
Wow Cathy this is gorgeous ❤ of course you always make it look so effortless. Thanks for sharing your talents!
*GORGEOUS VIBRANT BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!* absolutely love the cheerful colors! You did it again WOW!
gorgeous piece of art. thanks for sharing your gift with us
I admire how you come up with so many techniques. Your pond is beautiful. We have a pond with koi and water lillies. Would like to see a koi come up to greet you on your pond.
This is absolutley beautiful! What a great work.
Kept checking for sound . Love the Mixed media .
While I love your early works, the 'Under the Sea' pieces, I have to say that this is just Beautiful! I've used resin cabs in my work, too, and they just add that 'something' that is just great. Of course, your flowers are beautiful, love the addition of the gold in wave rings. I've never done screen printing before, but it's a great addition for the background. It's one of those things that if I buy one, I'll have to buy 20, so it's better I leave that alone, LOL. Great work, girl!!!
Beautiful colors, textures! I would love to hear a commentary as you work through your process.

Absolutely amazing! I am in love with your work! I just started my journey of art. I also self taught. Can you share what did you use at the beginning? Something looks like watercolors, then something with spatula, net etc. Please?
