The problem people _really_ run into are Healers tunneling the boss and not doing their REAL job: to keep the party up.
I've had healers not use Esuna, not use Rescue, not move out of AOEs, not pre-heal for raid-wide damage events, not immediately Swiftcast a rez when the tank dies, etc. all because they are tunnel-visioned on the boss spaming their two damage spells.
Far more likely to cause a wipe than not DPSing enough is not doing the core job properly. I've had healers let me die when tanking an Alliance Raid boss multiple times because they tunneled the boss. I've had healers let me die as a dungeon tank because they didn't stay in light of sight _despite telling me to pull Wall To Wall._ I've had healers run from the group multiple times with a stack marker _even after telling them what it is and how to deal with it_ because they were on autopilot and tunneled.
Healers are _not_ Green DPS. DPS is secondary; keeping the party up is what justifies their existence, and it is long past time to openly drag them on the carpet when they fuck up at their job. Better a healer that doesn't DPS but keeps the party up than a tunneling twat that lets the party (including himself) die- another thing I've run into a lot as of late.

1.) Unless your a shield healer you don't pre-heal raidwides(unless you mean topping off), but far to often the party holds equal blame for not using party mitigations like reprisal, addle, feint, ect. Healers aren't responsible for handling all the damage. The party shares some of that weight especially tanks.
It is not a healers responsibility to rescue people. If they can that's fine, but if you die it's not because the healer didn't rescue you its because you messed up.
Swiftcast has more uses than just rezzing, so expecting that anytime someone dies they'll have it a bit ignorant. Especially in the case of tanks as there is a good chance that you would use it for an emergency heal to try and avoid said death.
Not moving out of aoes is an experience issue not a healer issue so kind of a odd point to make when talking about them
2.) Dying because you break line of sight is your fault as a tank not the healers. Even if they tell you to wall to wall you still have to be aware of where they are because if you sprint and they don't have theirs up well then obviously they can't keep up.
Again people running away with a stack is an inexperience issue not a healer issue not a good point to make.
3.) It's the healers job to keep the party alive not healthy.
And yes healers are green dps. Much like tanks are blue dps. No matter your role you have a responsibility to do damage because if you don't you are actively hurting your party. Look at it this way, a healer in a dungeon makes up about 20ish% of the parties total damage, so if a healer was to do no damage that means fights are taking a good bit longer then if they were to do damage. Which means tanks have less mitigations to handle damage and the healer themselves would have little to no resources as they are wasting them by not getting the most out of them. The mark of a good to decent player is being able to balance the responsibility of your role with doing damage
White mage is possible the strongest dungeon healer not because of their heals but because of holy their aoe.
Moreover, often some of the most powerful tools in a healers kit want there to be a lot of damage before being used.
White Mages benediction is a 100% heals so you want the target to be as low as possible
Scholar's excog and Astro's ED wants the target to drop to 50%(30% for ED) or below
Hell a large portion of Sage's healing comes from them actively doing damage because of kardia
And again tunneling is an inexperience issue not a healer issue.

More DPS need to learn about Addle, Feint, and the various ranged-physical mits. I run MSQ Roulette as a Tank almost every night and I make darned sure to praise any magical-ranged or melee DPS players who are using their mits appropriately (ranged physical have none at 50). I use Reprisal for full-party attacks when it's available (and, at higher levels, other Tank job-specific party mits/shields). Anything to make our Healer's job easier!@@TheNastyNamazu

My experience is the exact opposite. Too often I have healers who are basically mentally afk just hitting their heal spells every so often without contributing nearly at all to dps which is nuts because in dungeons their aoe damage on packs is massively relevant.
      >Far more likely to cause a wipe than not DPSing enough is not doing the core job properly.
This really does sound like others in the party are not doing their jobs properly. Tanks for example in later content meaning past level 70, are nearly unkillable if they roll their mits and self heals properly. Rarely in duty finder content does the healer really have to focus healing that much unless you are doing a massive W2W like in Shisui or Mt. Gulg.

      @@4SkippyRoo How so?
There comments were blaming healers/new players for everything. Saying things like you died because the healer didn't keep line of sight when you did a wall to wall or that they are being bad healers because they didn't always have their swiftcast when you die is such a bad mentality to have. Because not only does it not recognize one's personally mistakes, but it off loads them to someone else in this case the healer. Furthermore, blaming healers for everything that goes wrong is one the big reason that people are so scared to heal, or is a reason they'll choose to stop healing.
Lastly, they made a comment with several points, and so I took the time to responded to each one of them. As I don't generally assume malice when ignorance is possible. It's why I don't just say no your wrong or completely ignore the comment because that helps no one.
