    Man those were the days. I was just a kid but I loved watching Soul Train every Saturday morning. I thank God for a awesome mom and people who strived to promote GOOD and decency for others especially kids. Unfortunately that concept is getting smaller and smaller, just look at what's on TV today.

    Everyone was slim and trim back then. It's too bad so much of us has let ourselves go, especially the young generation.

      cuz we ate REAL FOOD... these kids are eating fake foods, fillers, hormones, gmo's etc. Plus we were more creative and active. These kids are allowed to lay on their computers, etc. We were told to go outside and play!!

    To those in this forum who think the brothers are gay in this video: I am from that era and to be honest most men back then danced! The idea that the only men who could dance had to be gay is relatively recent. People thought Rick James AND Prince were gay and they got more ass than a rectal exam. Of course some of these cats may be gay, but I doubt many were.

    I guess back in the day I didn't really know what being a fabulous male was all about. these guys are "fabu".. I do know that alot of them were "modern dancers" i.e a jazzier form of ballet dancers. they really knew how to move.

    I've watched Soul Train since I was a kid but I have to say some of those guys that be on there need to go over to the women's side. I mean real men don't go around kicking there leg up in the air like that joker at the 1:33 mark no doubt there some sugar in that tank...smh

      You can clearly see that there weren't a men or woman individual line by that time 1980. That didn't happen until around 1981. But who's to say some of those "real men" who didn't do the leg work didn't have "sugar in their tank?"

      You know I thought I was I THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS THINKING ABOUT THAT WHILE WATCHING SOUL TRAIN. PLZ don't get me wrong I love it wishes I could've had the chance to go on there but the men kicked their legs and shook their butts more than me and they were on beat. Hmm, I saw some fine men too. I was praying for those who had those tight pants on kicking and squatting that they didn't get embarrassed on national tv.
