Here I take you through the screen, external display and I drop the phone. Fun!
While not strictly 'dumb' this phone certainly offers a different type of use case to anything out there, so let's unbox!

The CAT S22 Flip is built to withstand the toughest environments, boasting an IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certified construction. This means it is dustproof, waterproof up to 1.5 meters for 35 minutes, and can endure drops from up to 1.8 meters onto concrete. Man happy to have you unbox this phone. Im tired of smartphone nowadays the screens are just easy to break especially in my line of work. Happy also to find that you can initiate a video call in this phone. Email, messaging apps and youtube are my most used apps.

I have a S22 T-mobile phone (unlocked) on the way from upstate New York to rural Luxembourg and can't wait to put it to use.
CAT phones are actually manufactured by Bullit Group - a UK company. In China of course.

I just purchased one and I'm not thinking about it twice since I paid only 60 euros for it, it runs android, and I'm going to use it as a main phone to stop using my current main phone more often!

Thanks for the unboxing, I am thrilled for the battery life and camera usage experience. Xiaomi Qin F21/22 may fit a similar device bracket. Will you check out KaiOS phones too?
I will get started on a video for both of those things! I've got a F22 on order so will get stuff up when that arrives. I've used a Nokia 8000 4G in the past, sold it as it wasn't quite right, but the new flip KaiOS phones seem decent so I will grab one of those and get started on making something for the channel!
I work on a farm. I was very annoyed when they did away with 3g and ended flip phones. A "Smart" phone is extremely impractical.
But to my understanding the SIM card can vibrate loose, making for bad connectivity. I don't recall this being a problem with my 3g flip.
I've not experienced that, but have heard a few people say it's happened to them. There is a quick fix to just pop a bit of tape on the back, but, I appreciate we didn't have to do that with the old flip phones!

I would question the term "Dumbphone" term.... it's Android 11, running all the normal Smartphone apps. (However I am hoping its "dumbER" style will help me be less distracted!)
Heya, Oh don't worry I agree with you it isn't a 'dumb' phone, I'd put it more in the transition device category. It runs Android Go and you can download _most_ apps (but not all) and the phone will certainly reduce your screen time just due to screen size alone.

I have been using Smarty, 3 and 02 for tests, and all worked.
I've heard of a few people using Vodafone, so I'd say you are good to go, although haven't tried it myself!
I'm wondering if you've found it useful in curbing phone use? Especially social media.
Heya, great question, it's reduced it *massively*, due to the screen size, while TikTok/Insta/Twitter etc are possible, I wouldn't say they are enjoyable, so I very rarely do it and have found my usage of it dropping off.
I will cover this in more detail in my 30 day 'review/round up' of the phone but any questions you've got fire away!

which sim did you use? i read on a review that a vodafone sim didnt work on the phone

I've tried it with: 3, Smarty and EE sims and all works fine. I've just gone out and got a Vodafone sim but won't be able to test until Friday for you, so if you can hold on until then I can give you a better idea of Vodafone's capabilities.
So I managed to get it to work as normal, no issues my side. I want to head to a location where I know signal is weak and try it but won’t be able to do that until Monday. Short Review: All seems good! ☺️ Long Review: to follow!

Do the signal bands work fine in UK?
I've not had a problem with signal at all, in fact, it's been able to stay connected in places where my iPhone X has struggled. Admittedly, that's a phone from a while ago!
Not an easy-to-test question. Can you use it in a car with Android Auto?

I have been watching your videos for this phone since you started and have a problem that you or your subscribers might be able to help me with. My CAT S22 worked fine for months except that now it will not charge, at all. Replaced the battery and no joy. Any ideas that can help other than toss it?
what is that two pins behind the phone ? I own one but not able to figure that out ..
They are 'pogo pins' and are designed to charge, but no one makes chargers for them. A few people have custom made them, but nothing on the wider market.
Can you tell me what network your running on? I have just bought one today and have an ee sim to install.
I use Smarty, but have tested on 3 and 02 and all works as expected.

I can download the apps to connect a smart watch, but haven't connected yet.
My car isn't snazzy enough to have auto, but let me pop it on my list and when I find a friend who has it, I will give it a test!

Heya, so I am unsure and wouldn't want to commit 100%, but I purchased an unlocked one from Amazon and it works within the UK absolutely fine.
Worth throwing a question on Dumbphones reddit just to see if anyone in Hungary can confirm, but I'd say it's very likely it will work!

But, anecdotally, it's pretty good. I've installed the 'Old T9' keyboard from the Play Store as I found the build in one to be lacking. Certainly takes some time to get used to it when coming from a smartphone.

Certainly have, am aiming to have the 'full' review at the end of July/start of August so I can properly test it. Will have smaller videos deep diving in to other aspects/apps in the mean time.

Would this work with virgin media in the UK? What's your network provider?
I've tested with Three, Smarty, 02 - haven't tested with VM but I am pretty confident it would be fine given the three I've done.
Do the phone work in eu? As far as im concerned it says it only works in usa
I am based in UK and the phone is working fine and from Dumbphones reddit I know it's working for a lot of people in EU countries.

It is available with some vendors for RS.8500 unlocked for all carriers

Yes you can get FB and you can use mic to speak messages, got a video coming out on that soon! It works really well!

I made sure I got an unlocked one, so yep. :)
Does WhatsApp work well or crashes?
It works really well, no issues for me here.

@@DumbphonesUK yep. im glad i did. just started using it properly and unlike most low end smart phones it fits all my 75 apps on and has 3 gigs to spare. only question is how? most phones fail with 16 gigs this only has 11. so far impressed with it. really loving it. glad i found your channel about it.
