I converted mine to all LED tails, front turn and reverse. Can't see much of a difference in brightness during the day with direct sunlight hitting the lenses. It's a different shade of red. The biggest and most worthwhile addition was the reverse LEDs.
I agree. The brake lights look really well defined now, the lines are cleaner but not necessarily hugely brighter but damn, the reverse is HUGE. It's like daylight back there.
Hi, we have noticed that this is like this with regular bulbs also, this seems to be the design of the housing itself and not the LEDs.
This looks great Adam! I see that you've put the cargo cover over the Muddy Buddy. I guess it wasn't laying flat after all?
It was laying flat but this is the GF's car and she decided to keep the Muddy buddy fro now so the dog is more comfortable. Once we're moved into the new house, it'll probably go in the shed along with her floor matts that are under the Weathertech ones (for now).
Are the led bulbs red or white?
The brake lights are red, the reverse lights are white.

LED's look clean
Agreed. The video did not do it justice with the after shot being filmed before it was completely dark. I had to turn the LED Footwells way down since they're too bright while driving.
I never did this to the Golf R since i went LED Tails but this is a nice affordable upgrade at $150 for brake, Turn & reverse LEDs.
Adam, I did this upgrade on my 2017 AllTrack and the turn signals look red, do I need to modify the coding to get the orange to show better?
The housing itself is red so whatever color the housing is, that's what will show. Mine may look slightly orange due to white - balance.

@@AdamChandler86 I just did the deAUTOled dual-color LED fog on my '16 GSW TSI SEL w/LA & DAP . . . I'll get to test it out with the big storm that's predicted to come through this weekend. I also ordered the LED reverse LEDs (unfortunately on back order) and the amber LED turn signals. I'm waiting to do them all at once. Your videos are great . . . even with the subliminal Raspberry square messages!

@@AdamChandler86 Have you given any thought to upgrading your MIB2? I'm waiting for EuroZone Tuning to restock their VW MK7 GSW 8" Glass display retrofit NAV . . . I also considered the Active Info Display but its not plug-and-play (needs coding at dealership). The 8" glass display is plug-and-play so it should be a quick swap.

I've thought of going for the 8" display but I think I'll probably just upgrade the car before that really matters but it is plug & play and lots of guides online to get it done.

I have a 2017 Golf Alltrack do they have the same tail lights arrangements with the bulbs? I’m planning to put some LEDs... Any errors showed up?
I would reach out to DeAutoLED but I am almost 100% certain that these are exact fit.
Update : your Sportwage is the same as my Alltrack tail light housing and just installed my LEDs! Thanks for the vid tutorial... I did not buy LEDs from DeAuto because it’s expensive but I got it from amazon and no errors ... save me $30

Mine are always orange...
Bob van Zomeren it's the United States there are some OLD department of transportation codes that require out turn signals to be a certain size.

The best tail light mod for the GSW I've seen so far.
Someone also coded the lights to operate differently, but did it on an incandesent set.
