The story of the real Conjuring house is actually much scarier. A book written by one of the sisters was given to the screenwriters and was considered way too scary for just an R rating.

The craziest part is that the actual conjuring hauntings were 100x worse and they had to leave out so much because they weren’t allowed to show it in films. The book the children wrote talks a lot about it!

I feel bad for poor little Rory's spirit. He's trying to warn Cindy because he knows what will happen to her, so he shows her his hiding place. The ending scene on his mirror box with the empty reflection shows that he is no longer there, he isn't trapped anymore.
That wasn't even Cindy. That's April. Cindy is the one who sleep walks. Billy just kept getting the names wrong. 😂

Yup and I think that’s why Rory doesn’t appear for the mother in the beginning because Rory knows how this story ends once the mother is possessed and he knows it’s already happening. That part about him not being in the mirror anymore at the end scene was a cool observation I never thought of it like that
Oh my gosh I never made these connections! I always thought it was a little anticlimactic that nothing was in the mirror at the end but I like this a whole lot
I took a study of horror literature class in college and we watched clips from this movie and the clock in the room broke and stayed on 3:07 for the rest of the semester. My friend almost dropped the class, nothing happened though!

I was watching Child's Play with my cousins, and right when Chucky showed up on screen for a jumpscare, this huge mirror to my right broke. I'm certain I saw (in my peripheral vision tho) smth like a paper ball fly out of the wall behind us and hit the mirror. Pretty weird, but interesting.

little fun fact: Ed & Lorraine Warren didn’t do the case to this extent. They tried to exorcise Carolyn, but once Roger saw what was happening and how it was affecting her, he punched Ed in the face and told them to get out & never come back.
They were barely involved in the Enfield case too which Conjuring 2 is based on

@@daniellac.7588 Andrea Perron wrote about it in her book(s), and Lorraine confirmed it when they were working on the movie. Andrea said that their experiences were WAY worse than what the movie showed, but Hollywood wouldn’t allow specific things in the movie because of how horrifying it would be, so they tweaked it and based the movie off Ed & Lorraine

Billy Billy Billy, you young young young man. The TV wasn't "on" static. Back in the day, programming didn't run all night. After a certain time (midnight if I remember correctly), channels stop playing shows, movies, commercials, etc., and then there was only static on that channel until morning programs started. That's when TV's had bunny ears and only 12 channels.
I knew Lorraine Warren before she died. Went to her museum a couple of times. She was a truly gifted woman. Strong too. To see what she saw on a daily basis and not go insane. Just wow!

billie, fyi, the actual set for the movie is extremely haunted and most of the actors have encountered hauntings. it is said to give actors nightmares and they actually had to have a priest bless it. 😌

The Conjuring and Annabelle are actually both part of a whole ongoing series. Each movie can be watched as a standalone, but they do have references to other movies in the timeline and reoccurring characters. And yes, the movies in the series are based on either true stories or actual legends. Obviously creative liberties have been taken to pump up the paranormal. Annabelle is actually a real doll that is on display in a museum. She's a raggedy anne doll that looks quite normal but the story behind her is what makes her famous and thought to be possessed.
Another movie in the series is based off an actual murder case where the guy claimed while on trial he was possessed when he killed the people he killed. So yes, when they say these movies are based off real events it's true. they just don't tell you how loosely they follow those real events.
And the beginning of the movie when Ed and Lorraine was talking about that man with a upside down cross was from the nun. Which is good too 😖😖😖😖
I can't put in to words how intense this movie was in theaters! This is my 2nd favorite horror movie, the original IT barely surpasses it

Kind of? I mean, they are all a shared universe of films (yep, like MCU) and all based on true stories. The Warrens are real people, they really did do all this stuff. You know, allegedly. They are real life paranormal investigators and these films are all based on investigations they've done. The real Annabelle (which is a Raggedy Anne doll, btw) is on display at the museum in their home.
