Honestly how I feel about the movie is that it's extremely well acted and well shot and a pretty good portrayal of raw grief but I have a hard time saying I enjoy this movie because it is very bleak and they kill the dog. It's got talent but no heart. However it's fun to watch people react to it, that's the best part of it is seeing somebody else experience the weird. PS: Midsommar is from the same director with the same basic emotional beats so I think you'd be fine to skip that one. Especially if this Hereditary video doesn't do well in the algorithm. Don't feel like you have to watch Midsommar if Hereditary left a bad taste.

Grandma was in a cult trying to bring Paimon into the world, she tried bring Paimon into her own son through rituals and her son killed himself believing she was "trying to put people inside him", he was wrongly labeled as having schizophrenia. . Grandma wastes no time and raises Charlie as her own immediately starting the rituals, hence why Charlie always seems "weird", because it's basically a young Paimon learning about the world. . Through rituals and cult practice they orchestrate Charlies death to move Paimon into Peter. A more favourable form. You can also say that the Moms sleepwalking was an unconscious effort to stop it all happening by killing Peter.

I felt the worst for Peter because he literally had to watch his entire family get wiped out and then had no choice but to succumb to the evil that was plaguing them. also, not sure if you caught this but Peter ended up becoming possessed by Paimon at the end who was in Charlie the entire time. Paimon needed a male host but the grandmother couldn't get near Peter for the longest time so the cult orchestrated the entire thing to get Peter's body for Paimon.

@@realSimoneCherie that was literally a dream sequence. And first of all who the hell are y’all to judge if someone did have a toxic family? Makes you feel good huh 💅
Do I have this right? I’ve seen the movie a couple of times and some reactions too. From what I understand, Grandma was part of a cult that worshipped a demon. Grandma wanted to use her grandson as a vessel for the demon to be here on Earth. Daughter left with her infant son and went no contact with Grandma for a while. Then they later reconciled and Grandma secretly used Charlie as the vessel instead, even though the demon prefers a young male vessel. When Charlie died, the demon spirit hovered around the family/cult until it was able to inhabit the mom when mom was freaking out & overwhelmed & was vulnerable to be possessed. The possessed mom and the cult members in the house went after the teenage son to try and transfer the demon to him and when he jumped and was unconscious, he became possessed. So the cult wins in the end and gets the vessel the demon wanted.

This was so funny, poor billy this movie is hardcore…… There’s no Hereditary 2. This movie is about what grief can do to your mind when a family is under immense pressure. I found it disturbing but very well made, well acted. Theres a part at the end where depending on the resolution of your screen, you may or may not see the mother staring down from the ceiling of her sons room when he’s sitting up in his bed at the end. Horrendous.
you really need to cut peter some slack, he was panicking and in shock that his sister's head just flew off lmao, nobody gunna react well to that, and he 16!! not well equipped to deal with it at all, not everyone reacts the same, the whole movie is a commentary on people not able to come together because they struggle to connect in their grief. as for him not getting in trouble, he didn't do anything illegal aside from speeding cause he was tryna get her to the hospital, plus mama shares the blame for forcing him to take her to the party. point is it's nobody's fault.
I think this movie was really well acted and I love the cinematography. I understand why people dislike it but I love how genuinely they portrayed grief, shock, resentment, etc. Definitely react to Midsommar. #bingers
I think what a lot of people do not understand is that it was always the plan to have Charlie die in order for her to be a ready vessel for Paimon (correcting her body with Peter). To blame him makes zero sense because even if she had not died the way she did, she would have died.
Soo i know billy missed alot like how the grandma was apart of a cult and sold her grandson and granddaughters soul to the demon and the naked ppl were apart of the cult anf also the same ppl who were at the grandma's funeral this movie is actually amazing lol if u know your lore of Christianity and demonology
This movie scared me so much, I cried. I made my boyfriend shut it off, whenever the mother chased her son into the attic, when the son shut the door and she was just banging her head on the attic door. I am usually not one to watch scary movies and when I do, I have never cried once, but this movie changed that for me.

When I say I clicked SO FAST ✨ You are absolutely not in the wrong for being confused up until the movie kinda spells it out. It's such a fantastic horror film & Ari Aster movies are meant to keep you questioning everything. They're psychological terrors that get under your skin. It's fun to watch multiple times to catch details (even though I know you're already trying to forget this lol) Thank you for doing a reaction to this! Love you & your videos 💖💖

Definitely looking forward to watching this commentary reaction. I've never seen this movie. But I've heard that it's super scary. Can't wait! I highly recommend the 2019 thriller movie "US". #Bingers
I honestly couldn't with this movie. I am obsessed with scary movies, my husband and I have seen them all, but not this. I felt wrong the whole time and by the end I knew why.... They use the image of an actual demon from the Key of Solomon, which are the texts used by Catholics to help priests learn about all the different demons on the ranks.... And idk about everyone else... But like not using ouija board I don't think anyone should call out names of actual evil.... Call it and it will come... Will not watch again, felt wrong even for a movie to fake summon a real demon 🤷
Hereditary is a masterpiece. It is a slow burner but from the moment Charlie dies it just continues to grow more disturbing like a disease. Toni Collette f’n kills it - she deserved all the awards. It's brilliantly shot and the more you rewatch you notice all the intricate details laced throughout. You seriously missed the blue light every time it was on screen.
This is absolutely one of my favorite horror films of all time. A story about the destruction of a family with a secondary demon plot. Lol Phenomenal acting on all fronts, and some of the scariest scenes I’ve ever seen. I’d suggest watching a video breakdown of the film and giving it another watch. When you notice the details and thought that went into it, all the subtle things, it really is a masterpiece.
Great reaction! Hereditary is not everyone’s cup of tea but personally it’s my all time favorite horror film. I hope we get a Midsommar movie reaction its another knockout film by the great Ari Aster.
Fun fact (but not for some Aussie kids): A movie theater in Australia accidentally played the Hereditary trailer before Peter Rabbit 😲 I hope they've recovered by now
I have to say what makes this movie so terrifying is that it's central theme is FATE. This family had a destiny no matter what they did different it would be the same result. The audience wishing they did this, or they did that has no point because there isn't any hope ha. Just dread and misery that's all. Now that's how a true horror film should be like.
“What is wrong with this boy” he’s a child that just saw his sister get decapitated while already panicking trying to get to a hospital to save her life when her MOTHER, the ADULT, shouldn’t have forced him to take her to a party she didn’t want to go to itfp
Doesn’t matter if his mom made him take his sister it is what it. He clearly couldn’t do nothing about it. She is his responsibility once they leave the house. He’s old enough to know not to leave his lil sister alone in a house full of stranger. If he was going to smoke then he should of brought her with him. At least he had his eyes on her. She wouldn’t of seen anything she wasn’t gonna already be exposed to. I’m assuming you aren’t the oldest or really know what responsibilities are or maybe you just young in general I’m not sure. Either way not a valid argument.
To this day I have stayed away from watching Hereditary for this exact reason. It mixes slow burn with extreme creepiness and just a spiritual wrongness. All that being said, this reaction was absolutely hilarious. And when Billy said “how much time do we have left? 10 more minutes?!?”, I about died lol. I heard ALL about what happens in the last 10 minutes of this movie LOL 😂
I’ve never seen this movie before either. And even after watching your reaction I’m so confused as to what happened 💀 Pls watch Trick ‘r Treat next #Bingers !
My two cents, but Midsommar didn't really scare me. It just left me questioning just about everything. And I'm a horror movie wimp, I don't like being scared.
Grandma was in a cult for the demon Paimon, and it's implied that all Charlie's death was the plan from the beggining (you can see Grandma's necklace symbol in the post were Charlie hitted her head). Grandma liked Charlie way more than Peter (I asume bc of her spirit/personality), so she was perfect to be Paimon's host in all ways EXCEPT in one, she was a girl, and Paimon needed a male host. So Grandma planned for Charlie's spirit to posses Peter, so she could "become a boy" ("she wanted me to be a boy" Charlie said to her mother). This way, Paimon could posses this new "Peter", and have a body. I watched you video at 5am xD
This movie is a masterpiece, the cryptic hidden messages, the shot transitions, the small details that make perfect sense when you rewatch it and the amazing acting of Toni Collette. Its a shame some people didn't understand it but I recommend to watch again and pay attention to de scenes and dialogue to fully enjoy i.t
I think when you say “2” you mean Midsommar, which isn’t a sequel but you should definitely watch it cuz your reaction was hilarious for Hereditary, even though you hated it i was still cracking up 😂
#Bingers How about you watch the Babadook? That movie was real freaky Also Lights Out! I'm afraid of the dark and I watched it, I kinda regretted it but I also really liked it
The movie in short : brainwashing and using mentally ill people into joining cult, i prefer midsommar over hereditary but hereditary is also good you have to note down the subtle hints happening in the background on how the cult members slowing involved themselves with the family, they were even living inside their house at one point, movies like hereditary and midsommar has more happening in the background than front
I’ve never seen this movie bc I don’t like horror but if someone is so allergic to nuts it causes anaphylaxis why don’t they have her carrying an epi pen around everywhere just in case….
I ADORE this movie with my soul, it's less jumpscares and more... truly sad and disturbing, Toni Colette was amazing, the grieving scene right after "the accident" was horrific in the best way, the tension, despair and rage were so deep. Honestly, as a proud member of the Vulture Culture Community, Charlie's taking the dove's head didn't disturbed me at all, she just needed to lear proper sanitized way to do it, so she could be safe. #Bingers Okay, now that you are done with Hereditary, Midsommar would be great, same director Ari Aster, if you didn't like this one, you ....probably are not gonna like it, but it would be amazing if you give it an opportunity :) You'll be entertained that's for sure.
The first time I watched this movie I had to leave the house. Go for a night out and do anything else to just get my brain off it before bed. I love it so much. Really brought horror back to life. But I do NOT recommend it lightly.
This is one of the most troubling and sinister movie that I've ever watched but Billy, your reactions and comments. . . Lord I am laughing 😂 another great one Billy! Love it!
dude tbh when i first watched hereditary i was scared out of my mind but i loved it so much, it's like on a different level to other horror movies i'd seen?? like not necessarily worse or better, just way different. i think the 'Hereditary 2' you're thinking of is just 'Midsommar' which isn't a sequal, it's a separate movie - but i would still definitely recommend watching it, it's very different to this one but still makes you feel super uneasy and messed up for a while after watching :D
I honestly regret ever watching that movie. 2 hours of my life that would literally have been better spent sleeping, walking, staring at paint, anything. I recommend The VVitch. (yes, it's two v's to make a w). It's set in Puritan US back in the 16600s, and honestly, I think it's the best horror movie in years. #BillyBinges
The point of this movie is to make every inch of your skin crawl. Not make you feel comfortable while Midsomer. That movie was a masterpiece of horror some say. The basic summary of this movie is grandma sold the family members to be the queen of hell and bring a demon into this world Taking of Deborah Logan, hell house #bingers
this movie made me never wanna watch another Ari Astor film, and then i did (Midsommar) also if you haven't already, watch The Lighthouse with Robert Pattinson in it, it's totally not disturbing at all, no sir
9:37 There is no point in checking on someone if their head is gone and you have the headless body in your car. What would you check for? If they are okay? She CAN'T be ok man. Her head is gone. 😂
I love horror, but this movie was too much for me. Charlie’s death traumatized me. I’m the oldest of 3 sibling, so I couldn’t help but imagine myself in Peter’s situation. It scared me so bad and I couldn’t shake the feeling for days. I got out of the theater and wanted to go straight to church..
This is one of my favorite scary movies. The fact that it's not about a place that's haunted, so there's no escaping. And the devil worshippers who will go to any length to summon a demon. Not to mention I've heard of real stories similar to this with cults. Just so damn freaky.
Just finished the video, let me just say that I LOVE this movie. It's so strange and messed up, but if you watch it over after reading an explanation bout it further it makes it even better! The whole plot and concept for this movie was awesome. Alex Wolff sold his part, and he did an interview talking about how making this movie made him feel that gave me chills when I watched this movie for the second time. Thank you for making me laugh my butt off! I would love to see you watch all of the Alien movies or continue with the Conjuring universe!
charlie was supposed to be born a boy. she was supposed to be the grandmas original sacrifice, the paimon they chant at the end of the film. the grandma was in some sort of freaky religious cult thing (a running theme in ari asters movies, as you can see from watching midsommar too) and the end of the movie is charlie possessing her brother to take the form she was originally supposed to have. that’s the summarized version, there’s a lot more depth to it but we’d be here too long to go into all of that nonsense
Awww I'm bummed you didn't really fuck with this movie. It's legit one of my fave horror films ever. First time I watched it, I stared at the movie credits roll and couldn't really wrap my head around what I just saw. Incredible movie. Slow burn. Just fucking amazing. People like Midsommar too (same director) but for me that movie was nowhere as good as Hereditary. Anyway, enjoyed the reaction!

Unfortunately you didn’t seem to pick up was what actually happening in the movie. There’s is a lot of details you have to see and figure out. This is not a horror movie in the sense that it only wants to scare you. It’s actually telling a very sad, disturbing intricate story that’s extremely well written and executed when you notice and connect all the dots. This is not one easy film to view tho. Not for everyone. But in my opinion one of the absolute best horror movies ever.
This movie was so unnerving for me. My friend hated it and thought it was boring but I loved it. You never know what to expect, the end with the mom on the ceiling always really stuck with me.

Big red flag if you feel like she’s your mom jeez
Yeah I think you’re missing the point. I mean the way she’s yelling at her son, it’s reminiscent of when your mom yells at you.
@@realSimoneCherie that was literally a dream sequence.
And first of all who the hell are y’all to judge if someone did have a toxic family?
Makes you feel good huh 💅
@@mellysomethingclever ...I think she just asked a question.
This movie is about grief and how scary it can be.
So the cult wins in the end and gets the vessel the demon wanted.
yup, that's basically it. Every event in the film was orchestrated by the cult.

"So are you just not gonna go back there to look at what happened?"
This one's rough! You better keep your head! Hahahaha!😆🤣🤣🤣🤭
P.S. Love ya, Billy.
I see what you did there 😂
This was so funny, poor billy this movie is hardcore…… There’s no Hereditary 2.
I feel bad for the dad marrying into that crazy ass family 😂
I think this movie was really well acted and I love the cinematography. I understand why people dislike it but I love how genuinely they portrayed grief, shock, resentment, etc.
Definitely react to Midsommar. #bingers
I'm pretty sure the guy who plays as Peter actually injured himself during the scene where he smashed his face in the desk.
Yup he broke his nose if I’m not mistaken.
@@mellysomethingclever yep, I believe that's what it was
I think what a lot of people do not understand is that it was always the plan to have Charlie die in order for her to be a ready vessel for Paimon (correcting her body with Peter).
24:10-24:48 had me laughing so hard I had to keep rewinding that part!! Billy, you're hysterical! 😂🥰
SAME 😂 "HAA - NOT MY NECK!"
Midsummer isn’t part 2! It is it’s own movie! This is more psychological horror than anything else! Messes up your head !
You HAVE to watch this movie pls
It’s only right you watch Midsommar now. I don’t make the rules 🤷🏾♀️ #bingers
Yes indeed. Yes indeed. 😌
#bingers yes, midsommar must come next
Yeeeessss love that one so much.
I saw the thumbnail and I immediately thought, "Oh this is not the movie for you, Billy!"
This movie scared me so much, I cried. I made my boyfriend shut it off, whenever the mother chased her son into the attic, when the son shut the door and she was just banging her head on the attic door. I am usually not one to watch scary movies and when I do, I have never cried once, but this movie changed that for me.
I wanna go see a horror movie where the theater is filled with 100 of this guy 🙌
Like when Kennie JD went and saw Mama in the theater 😂

#BINGERS Case 39 All I can say is they should have baked the baby. 😁😄😅
When I say I clicked SO FAST ✨
You are absolutely not in the wrong for being confused up until the movie kinda spells it out. It's such a fantastic horror film & Ari Aster movies are meant to keep you questioning everything. They're psychological terrors that get under your skin. It's fun to watch multiple times to catch details (even though I know you're already trying to forget this lol)
Thank you for doing a reaction to this! Love you & your videos 💖💖
"She spends a lot of time on her own doing crazy stuff". 😂 Don't we all....
Can’t wait to watch this video, upload days are the best, I’d love to see you react to the conjuring 2 and the insidious movies! #Bingers
#Bingers Billy you have to finish October with the movie that brought the horror genre alive in my opinion The Exorcist it is a cult classic and people will be getting really hydrated lol love the reactions keep them coming. 😊💖
You’ve been killing it with these choices ! You know we all were counting down the min until that pole scene 😅
It wasn’t until my 3rd time watching a realized he drove home with charlies body in the back
Third time? What did you think the first two times happened? 😂
@@fuzzyapple lmaooo had the same thought
Pleaseeee watch “Us” (2019) #bingers
Fun fact (but not for some Aussie kids):
A movie theater in Australia accidentally played the Hereditary trailer before Peter Rabbit 😲 I hope they've recovered by now
I have to say what makes this movie so terrifying is that it's central theme is FATE.
@@BillyBinges damn you really took it personal
@@jacobgraham3907 He is right.
The thickheaded commenters all have the same reaction to this scene. God bless them.
“Take a drink everytime I say hell nah”
Grabs 20 oz water bottle that lasted me 10 minutes in the conjuring video doing the same thing😅
You need to react to Us by Jordan peele!
Or midsommar which is the second film by the hereditary director
#bingers
I’ve never seen this movie before either. And even after watching your reaction I’m so confused as to what happened 💀
Pls watch Trick ‘r Treat next #Bingers !
#BINGERS I recommend Midsommar, Halloween Town, and Trick r Treat. A terrifying movie, a kid movie, and a fun cult classic
My two cents, but Midsommar didn't really scare me. It just left me questioning just about everything. And I'm a horror movie wimp, I don't like being scared.
You think this movie is weird you need to watch the lighthouse the Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe
This movie fucked me up the first time I saw it. Would love to see Orphan! It’s my favorite horror movie followed by It Follows and Us. #Bingers
omgggggg he will lose his fucking mind with this one lmfao
I think when you say “2” you mean Midsommar, which isn’t a sequel but you should definitely watch it cuz your reaction was hilarious for Hereditary, even though you hated it i was still cracking up 😂
I wonder if Billy realizes the husband/dad is a psychologist?
I do now!
There is no hereditary 2 but there is Midsommar it’s an, interesting film and you should so watch it
#bingers
#Bingers
How about you watch the Babadook? That movie was real freaky
Also Lights Out! I'm afraid of the dark and I watched it, I kinda regretted it but I also really liked it
If I brought a younger sibling to a party they would be right by my side the whole time, or I wouldn't even take them and I would stay home.
WHY ARENT YOU WATCHING SLEEPAWAY CAMP?! Why are you doing this!!!!!!
The first time I watched this movie I had to leave the house. Go for a night out and do anything else to just get my brain off it before bed. I love it so much. Really brought horror back to life. But I do NOT recommend it lightly.
#bingers harry potter
This is one of the most troubling and sinister movie that I've ever watched but Billy, your reactions and comments. . . Lord I am laughing 😂 another great one Billy! Love it!
YOU DEFINITELY GOTTA WATCH MIDSOMMAR AFTER THIS ONE
I got to ask. Do you have a precision vacuum routine? Because those vacuum lines look identical each video. Vacuum game is on point.
dude tbh when i first watched hereditary i was scared out of my mind but i loved it so much, it's like on a different level to other horror movies i'd seen?? like not necessarily worse or better, just way different. i think the 'Hereditary 2' you're thinking of is just 'Midsommar' which isn't a sequal, it's a separate movie - but i would still definitely recommend watching it, it's very different to this one but still makes you feel super uneasy and messed up for a while after watching :D
I didn’t enjoy this movie, it was slow and confusing as fuck, but i have to admit the ending disturbed the hell out of me.
The point of this movie is to make every inch of your skin crawl. Not make you feel comfortable while Midsomer. That movie was a masterpiece of horror some say. The basic summary of this movie is grandma sold the family members to be the queen of hell and bring a demon into this world
Taking of Deborah Logan, hell house #bingers
this movie made me never wanna watch another Ari Astor film, and then i did (Midsommar) also if you haven't already, watch The Lighthouse with Robert Pattinson in it, it's totally not disturbing at all, no sir
He enjoys cracked skulls toooooo much. I can’t. 😩😩

There is no point in checking on someone if their head is gone and you have the headless body in your car. What would you check for? If they are okay? She CAN'T be ok man. Her head is gone. 😂
this commentary is the only way i can watch this movie. doing the lord’s work billy!! 🙏
Billy please watch the Addams Family or the Addams Family Values, or Halloweentown #bingers
I would love to see you watch all of the Alien movies or continue with the Conjuring universe!
him saying that charlie had to go was amazing
This movie is wild and your reactions were hysterical 😂
I think we should drink for every time you say Charlie😂😂
This movie is honestly one of THE best horror movies. It's just so good
He's in shock. Isn't that obvious?
charlie was supposed to be born a boy. she was supposed to be the grandmas original sacrifice, the paimon they chant at the end of the film. the grandma was in some sort of freaky religious cult thing (a running theme in ari asters movies, as you can see from watching midsommar too) and the end of the movie is charlie possessing her brother to take the form she was originally supposed to have. that’s the summarized version, there’s a lot
more depth to it but we’d be here too long to go into all of that nonsense
Awww I'm bummed you didn't really fuck with this movie. It's legit one of my fave horror films ever. First time I watched it, I stared at the movie credits roll and couldn't really wrap my head around what I just saw. Incredible movie. Slow burn. Just fucking amazing. People like Midsommar too (same director) but for me that movie was nowhere as good as Hereditary. Anyway, enjoyed the reaction!
😆 Billy if u were confused by this then i would love to see your reaction to #BINGERS Midsommar its the same Director, Shark Tale this is an animated film its hilarious and you seriously need to watch The Conjuring 2 , Insidious Chapter 1 and 2
Unfortunately you didn’t seem to pick
up was what actually happening in the movie.
I knew this movie gonna break billy.this and green mile are some of those amazing movies you would never watch again in your life
This movie was so unnerving for me. My friend hated it and thought it was boring but I loved it. You never know what to expect, the end with the mom on the ceiling always really stuck with me.
this movie had me messed up for a whole week lmao
Yeah there is no Hereditary 2, but there is Midsommar by the same director. It's definitely less weird than Hereditary and easier to follow. It still has plenty weird in it, but not to the point of wtf is going on. I personally like that one better.
Went to this film having no idea it was about spirits and witch craft, things I don't mess with. Couldn't sleep for a week after.
