I appreciate the shoutout, BG. Tuck n roll is a fun adventure. I definitely feel it’s the chefs kiss for some builds. Just like laying down all that confetti on the GT3, the tuck n roll was very relaxing. Mind numbing if you will.
Hi Brandon! thank you my brother. I had started the process of cutting and fitting the half round pieces. it hasn't been going well. so i stopped and am reconsidering my options.
@@BGsModelWorkshop it will look off until you put a very small piece of full round plastruct as the pleet material around it all the half round. That’s what made mine feel enclosed.
Im working on this same Jimmy. This is the first time cutting the doors out of a model kit, i hopei can make it look good. I like the plan you have, that dash is CLEAN! i have a hard time makng the details pop like you,
Hi Rich! Wow you are opening the door!! That's awesome!! I know how much trouble that can be especially on a kit this delicate! Good for you!! One of my secrets for dash work is to use tiny amounts of panel liner from Tamiya and place it around knobs and switches. It can help reinforce shadows and make the detail pop!
Great progress on the Jimmy and I really like the theme! I've done the seat 'half round' tuck and roll thing. I remember it was a little tedious...lol Just a suggestion....maybe instead of tuck & roll, use a seat decal like a Mexican blanket.
Greta shoutout. She is awesome!! So good. Love the filler cap idea. That is awesome. Some super cool stuff. Loving this project and the fun idea is awesome too.
Great shout out and the truck is looking killer! (see what I did there...I'll show myself out). This thing is going to look so good though once completed. Can't wait to see it
Hi Bryan. I'm really digging the weathering. The body is looking great with something not overdone. The gas filler weld is a great detail. I'd never heard/seen of the M16 with a shotgun. I'd only seen grenade launchers on M16s. That does look cool. Have an amazing weekend and enjoy all the cookies you can find. 🥠🍪🥠🍪🥠🍪
Hi Vince! Thanks for the fortune cookies! LOL, that made me chuckle. Yeah, hadn't heard of that type of combo either! Apparently, this is known as "the master key" for blasting hinges off doors and then rushing in. =)
Looks good. I think I I got the "story" of this build as well. I think of it as a "Fauxvivor" - combination of Rat Rod ethos and patina with a Pro Touring chassis & powertrain. Maybe that is a genre to itself, but your build is first time I have seen those two genres combined in one vehicle. I love the weld story and detail. It reminds me of a meme with a story that I will paraphrase as best I can. A welder shows up at a shop responding to help wanted sign. The applicant inquires as to the hourly rate and is told the rate is a range of $18-$24. The employer then says, "Well, I have answered your questions, let's see what you got. The applicant finishes a welding sample, and the employer says, "ok". But the applicant goes on to do a second sample and the employer asks, "what are you doing?" The applicant explains: "The first one is your "$18/hr weld and the second one is the $24/hr weld. Do I have the job at $24 per hour?" The graphic of the meme shows an "$18/hr weld" and a "$24/hr weld" side by side. As someone who assembles Department Store bicycles, I spend a lot of time looking at, and sometimes fighting $18 welds. As you can imagine, the alignment on the welded pieces is not always the best. I love seeing the quick and dirty weld detail in scale.
Great work BG most 67-72 had black rubber around front and back glass. Because the windshield set in as a gasket.
Great point!! THANK YOU!! =)
The scratch work and modifications on this are epic
Thanks my friend!! I a really am having fun!!
Oh MAN! I LOVE the paint disstressing!! Awesome Work!!!

Hi Johnny, I am still debating the seat issue. i tried the half round styrene and it wasn't going well.
Like the worn and weathered body👍
Thank you David!! I feel this type of build is a lot of fun and good artistic expression! =)
Great shoutout for DRC! The Jimmy is looking awesome BG!

Its looking good Bryan
Thank you Bob!! =)
Great idea for the seats, but may I suggest using half round stock on the seats
Hi Mark, you mean add half round stock on the photo etch seats?

The M16 with 12 guage shotgun underneath is often referred to as a Master Key. They often used the shotgun to breach doors.
Really!!! thank you Jim! I didn't know that! =)

Great video bud! The solder tip is awesome! Loving the mag and there FB page is awesome as well keep up the good work bud
Hi Mike! Hope you can use that solder technique sometime! Right? that magazine is killer!!
Stance is all that matters!
100% makes the whole build!
BG is the white glue you talk about like Elmer's school glue
@@johnhenon1464 Howdy! it is very similar. I use "Zap 560 canopy glue" it holds strong and is sort of thicker so it dries a little faster.
@BGsModelWorkshop thank you sir trying to mock up the garbage truck body to another chassis
@@johnhenon1464 sweet!! The canopy glue will be perfect for that!
The Jimmy is a work of art, and the boomstick is super cool. Thanks for the sub!
