  • An Innova with a few lakh kilometres under the belt is nothing new. They feel as good as the day they left the factory, nearly 17 years ago!
We take a closer look at the Innova 2.5 litre D4D engine to see what components go into its making and how they add up to the overall robustness of the engine.

So basically the key reason why the Innova engines last long are:
    1. Extremely low revving and high torque characteristics.
    2. Less valve train complexity (major reason)
    3. Simple yet rugged cast iron block
    4. Two Balenos worth engine oil ensures adequate lubrication for a trip to moon and back.
    5. Crazy high injection pressure
    6. Quality of the materials used.
Wonderfully explained. 17 minutes felt like 7 seconds.

    Etios ലും Corolla യിലും use ചെയ്ത 1ND-TV D4D turbo diesel engine ന് more than 7lakh Kilometres clock ചെയ്യുവാൻ സാധിക്കും.. Etios CKD unit ആയിട്ട് ആയിരുന്നു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നത് എങ്കിലും ജപ്പാനിൽ നിന്നും engine ഉം മറ്റു അനുബന്ധ ഭാഗങ്ങളും മാത്രമാണ് വന്നിരുന്നത് ബാക്കി parts localize ചെയ്യുവാൻ quality യില് compermise ചെയ്തതായി കാണാം(compared to other toyotas itself, otherwise its far better than other prominent brands around)

When you guys start recording, stay silent for a while (3-5 seconds). This is to capture the other noises in the environment.
When editing the video take time to edit the audio
There's this feature in the editing software called noise reduction.
Use the initial part of the audio where you guys remain silent as a reference for the editor and use it to clean up the entire useless bg noises in the video.
If it's not clear what I just said please do check RUclips tutorials. (Noise reduction in audio editing)
The editing software I suggest is audacity (it's free!

Good one guy's, keep going. At times you can make small videos on parts of engines like cams, fuel injection systems, turbo, intercooler, etc..(both petrol & diesel), how it works and what it's used for etc.

First time on RUclips such an in depth explanation about Toyota's engine ! Hats off Vivekji and JayD.
How about a video and your thoughts about cars on ventilator aka least selling/could be discontinued ones Kicks, Vento, Marazzo, Alturas G4, Ciaz/Belta, Urban Cruiser etc. BS 6.2 coming up and what effects it will have on the auto industry, which diesel engines would survive beyond 2023, is it a good idea buying diesel cars now and stuff associates when new norms kick in.
Please try to include these topics on your next news episode. Keep doing the great work folks, Happy motoring ✌️
