@ 12:44. Yes, NAILED it. The Negative Space. You know all of the same notes are in there somewhere but during the Gig, why risk going there and f'kn up! Go to that pattern 12 frets up and people will think it's better because the notes are pitched higher and you can also bend you body and make a grimace to get the cheers.
I felt like I couldn’t play for crap yesterday . I tried out a 335 at guitar center. I felt like my pant fell down in front of the world. I need to practice.
Can anyone play a guitar set up off the wall at Guitar Center? I walk in with a baggie full of tools to tweak in anything I'd really consider buying...make sure the truss rod works and whatnot. If I find one that's playable I'll plug it in and rip! Only then.
Have you ever tried a Lightspeed for your low gain/clean-ish tones? I've been using the Belle, and recently picked up a LS and have a hard time turning it off. Now you're making me want the AT! And I can't wait to get my hands on a Gearbox!
I used to have the lonestar special actually i still have it in my trailer but it has no valves in it thats about all it needs to fire up but i have now the mark v 35 1x12 and am way more happy with the cleans and drive sounds. The last time i fired up my lonestar special was back in late april and i found it a little muddy but it does sing andy timmons was the reason i got it i also have the gearbox the deluxe pantheon wampler pedals and a plexi drive deluxe i also have the woodshed comp and the at plus jhs and angry charlie v3 the angry driver boss jb-2 they are my favorite pedals for leads they are sonically huge but have tons of clarity and power very loud pedal with tons of distortion if you need it i also use the halo great echo one of the recent best delay pedals!!!OH and recently i have just got about a month ago in mid to late august the new keeley super at mod love it for low gain cleans what its great for also its great for a blues rock overdrive with a les paul my main new lead tone pedal is the wampler dracarys!!!
A min n relative maj is c major. N country music would be A major pentatonic. So can you play c major and A major scale with the a maj pentatonic . Basicly what scales can be play with the A maj pentatonic scale. And what modes go best with country. If that's a thing.
In country (specifically often having a flat 7) you can use minor 3rd AND major 7th Flat 6 natural 6, hell I can make flat 9 and regular 9 work. Take working man blues or honky tonk night time man, I can get licks to work that have all 12 notes. That’s why I’m focusing on phrasing not scales. Scales keep you trapped within a framework.
I guess in short, it’s not modes or scales it’s how you phrase the resolution of tension notes. As chords change you have to acknowledge and play over those changes as well
That mess up at 15 :58 sounded good. Like it was supposed to change key.
Andy is teaching guitar gold... I WISH I could afford to go to his guitar camps... look in to that if you can:)
Sometimes I improvise on one string as well and find it dream like :) Love Your channel my friend !
Wow, what a tremendously valuable lesson! Thank you!!!
so sorry I missed this one live.. Great lesson Andy.. Damn time zone and work gets in the way
