Uncle Ted has been scoffed by many, but his wisdom prevails!...just look at how spry and vivacious he is at his age...still so full of life...kudos to Uncle Ted!!
Wisdom? All Ted Nugent ever had was "The Redneck Authoritarian's Rulebook." He's as one-dimensional as a cardboard cut-out of a human being. Believe me... Ted lacks the psycho-spiritual depth that's prerequisite for anything resembling true wisdom. He's never unfolded the multidimensional layers of his own being nor explored the outer limits of human consciousness through entheogenic mystical journeys. Ted is so misinformed he still mislabels psychedelics / entheogens, which are perception altering substances, as "dangerous killer drugs"... What a boob.

He’s got a way with words, and got away from serving his country with turds. He’s lying. Teds still doing drugs as he has since the 60s. He just moderates his use
At the Nashville fair grounds raceway in the 70’s. Opening act named Ted somebody never heard of him played before Lynyrd Skynyrd. To this day I tell about this guitar player that was so awesome jumping off amp’s so much energy blew me away, in my opinion he blew LS off the stage . I got serious about playing drums,I’m 67 now and we still play his music. We also still play the great Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Love what you are saying Mr Nugent - all my siblings died early in life from poisens (drugs & drink) myself a musician grew up in the LA area was around alot of disfunction (myself included) addiction and with Gods help was able to pull myself out of it and move on to reach my full potential. Sober is a great High -
Great interview ted Nugent the man 👌👍yes discipline important you resisted temptation thank god and your still here still playing ❤️🌞good advice to all sadly many won't listen😞

Ted’s ‘drug of choice’ was women. That was certainly the part of the rock & roll lifestyle he embraced. I have always admired his stance on drugs and alcohol, but his loose lifestyle with regards to females, including some who were underage, is an area where Ted should have taken some advice.
My lord. My neighbor from a small town in NW Ohio played in warm-up bands for Nugget. He came back as an addict. I don't recall at the time that Ted particularly cared. Btw, Hendrix was doing his best work when he died,
So you are going to blame Ted Nugent and say that he didn’t care because your friend made bad choices so that’s Ted’s fault? Seriously? Ted Nugent is the ONLY ROCK STAR to stand up and call out the drug and alcohol culture in Rock which when he did it was a complete badge of honor of being a Rock Star. If you went against that grain you were ostracized which Ted was. It’s not Ted’s responsibility to be your friends father! It’s called personal responsibility and it the primary reason why this country is finished. It’s because no one wants to grow up and act like an adult. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Man, I wish I would have heard him say that in 83. He was a hero, but never embraced sobriety back then. It is only as an adult that I realize and believe the things he just said. Im really beginning to like my mind and wish in no harm. Rock on Ted!!!!
Hendrix had lost his fire musically by the end? Yeah, ok, you can rewrite history to suit your own agenda, Ted, but the massive amount of material that was found in JH's home recording studio, incredibly various and brilliant, tells a different story.
I am a professional musician and NEVER touched drugs. Now, my son who is a beyond incredible musician is entering adulthood and will begin his music career and I am deathly afraid of this aspect of music. He’s s very good kid and thus far no issues

I had a similar issue with my son but in a different profession. He started skateboarding when he was very young and he wanted to be a professional skateboarder he got very good atit, and then he started meeting some of the people that were skateboarders professional skateboarders as well as just guys who skated around town and he basically said they are a bunch of dirt bag drug addicts most of them and he hung up his skateboard he's in the Air Force now.

Ted, my favorite guitarist is Michigan Sterling Heights' Jim McCarty. He is awesome. Talked to him by phone one time. I have some autographed CDs from him. Give us some insight between McCarty and Hendrix.
I'm an ex pro wrestler from back in the late 80's when the WWE was still the WWF, worked on cards for them and the NWA but mostly for Independent promotions I was 5x's champion in the defunct WWA and I can't begin to tell you how many people I wrestled or knew in wrestling that have passed from a mixture of alcohol, drugs, steroids, and pain pills ... many of them before the age of 50. I am 62 and did my share of beer drinking, it blew up my pancreas 2 years ago and now I don't even drink beer! But I'm glad I never hit the heavy booze, pills, drugs, and everything else most of the Boys were doing. It's very sad to hear about them passing, and I thank God I'm still pretty healthy, although my joints are all beat up from the sport and years of heavy weight lifting. I sometimes wish I had made a decision to stay totally clean, but I'm not going to lie, some of the party's were a lot of fun. I got into archery about 3 years ago myself, and it is a lot of fun .... I love it! God bless Ted, America, and all you God fearing people out there trying to do the right thing!
@tobeunknown3417 Yea I did jobs in the WWF but took some liberties rather than just getting annihilated. (Put in Joe Champ vs Jake the Snake & see that I did body slam him ... Although that was frowned upon.) I was heavyweight champion in the now defunct WWA 5x's ... But it's not about ego! It's about the money! I have always been secure in who I was to ever really care about winning or losing ... It was about the pay check and the many fringe benefits that came with it! It was about a childhood dream come true & getting to wrestle guys I watched on TV as a teenager, the traveling and the places I got to see that I never would have done having a 9-5 office or construction job. People like SD Special Delivery Jones, Frankie Williams, and many other glorified jobbers were laughing all the way to the bank getting paid big money for basically a part time job (When you figure out actual time in the ring.) traveling all over the place enjoying life! Shit you can be a no name and go to Japan for a couple of months guaranteed 5k a week! So if being a jobber seems like a negative role to you, your missing the big picture! I loved all of it! Sure being a champion and wearing the strap in an independent federation was very cool, but even doing jobs was fun as well ... at least it was for me! And when you went to the parties afterwards you got almost the same attention as the big names with everything basically free for you. It's just sad to me that many of the boys over did the free food, booze, women, and drugs and they now are no longer with us! Interesting that most of the bigger names are the ones no longer with us, and most of the jobbers like myself are still here in our elder years going strong! So you can think what you want about jobbers ... Me? I don't regret it at all! Anyway God bless ya!
You could hear it in Teds guitar playing the clarity of being drug free and sober. His playing was so damn strong and amplified in the cleanest way. Thank you Ted for providing us fans with some damn good guitar playing. And you look so f.*/$ing great. Rock on great hunter! God’s speed.
Thanks for being a great role model Ted. I was that straight edge kid who hung out with the stoners. I liked the people and hated their self destruction. I never understood why they couldn’t just go have a good time without a crutch.
“I got my physical notice 30 days prior to [being drafted],” Nugent told High Times. “Well, on that day I ceased cleansing my body. No more brushing my teeth, no more washing my hair, no baths, no soap, no water. Thirty days of debris build. I stopped shavin,’ and I was 18, had a little scraggly beard, really looked like a hippie. I had long hair, and it started gettin’ kinky, matted up.” Nugent continued, “Then two weeks before, I stopped eating any food with nutritional value. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer-stuff I never touched-buttered poop, little jars of Polish sausages, and I’d drink the syrup, I was this side of death. Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. Poop, piss the whole shot. My pants got crusted up.” Nugent also explained that he was typically “extremely anti-drug” but “I snorted some crystal methedrine” in order to avoid the draft, which is ironic considering his long-held stance on drugs.
He’s told so many lies over the years that he can’t keep track of them all. Hence the nonstop contradictions. So Ted is a lying sack of shit without the excuse of booze and drugs. Ummm wow.
Yeah I do disagree with Nugent when he said Hendrix was "losing his fire." Hendrix was getting into new styles of music- you can hear funk and jazz inflections on Band of Gypsies.
The first concert I went to was Ted Nugent. The hole arena was full of smoke and my friend (who had been to many concerts) told me that the joint will come by, just take a hit and pass it on. Well sure enough Ted was jamming and the joint came by and I took a hit and passed it on and I thought to myself, that tastes different then what I was used to. Later on they told me that I smoked something called "Love Boat". NO COOL AT ALL

I have not drank booze or do drugs for a very long time . I was lucky to find out pretty young that the road of booze and drugs would mean an early painful death for me. If you noticed some of the old time real rockers have had to clean up their act or die. Power to the men and women that can still rock the house but clean and sober. Thanks Ted.
Wished I’d of listened to somebody but I’m 25 years sober now. It was a mistake trying drugs because when I did I instantly felt normal. The alcohol and drugs numbed the demons in my head. Glad I got off all that crap
You can take quite a few bites of the sandwich, before you get to the broken glass. The big problem is, you never know where the meat is going to stop and the glass is going to begin.
I'm not a big Nugent person in terms of politics- but whatever your political convictions are Ted is absolutely right on the money about the substance issue. I am a grateful recovering addict and however you may feel about the Nuge DO NOT tune him out when he talks about drugs/alcohol. He couldn't have put a finer point on that particular subject. Beetroot juice and pomegranate juice will help to lower anxiety and lessen the urge to drink alcohol. While I'm not completely sober I'm drinking a hell of a lot less. The nitric oxide vasodilates your blood vessels which allows you to train harder, and being able to exercise harder you're getting greater physiological adaptations (as long as you recover) so I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to drink less.

I remember Ted back in the day (‘70’s). He was known for being drug free which was very unusual back then for a rock star. That took a lot of guts and he was a role model for being drug free. No doubt. Rock on.
Also Hendrix had perfect teeth and took care of them. Ted makes him sound like a messy drug addict. Hendrix's choice of drug was LSD. He Moderately drank and would take sleeping pills cuz he barely slept ever. He was not the type to down a huge quantity of wine in 15 seconds on top of sleeping pills. Yes he was murdered. Set up by his manager
@crushsatan exactly has Ted seen last shows like Isle of Wight or Maui? Jimi was on the top of his game. Ted just has prejudice against "drug users". Ted met jimi while partying and turned down drugs. Good for you guy. Lol. Never achieved in a lifetime what jimi did in a few years. Maybe drugs didn't have anything to do with it.
@@claytonpaul4259 LSD had a big part in how Hendrix played and it was for the better. If someone disagrees, then you've never taken a psychedelic drug. Any other drug in my opinion changes your playing too, but in the worst of ways.
@kennethnick3213 no it didn't. Jim's drug use has been blown up and made into some kind of legend not based in reality. Jimi used LSD but a lot of the songs he had been working on for are you experienced as an example pre dated the band and his lsd use. so Jimis creativity was all his own, the effect of LSD while listening to the music was appreciated by the audience. It doesn't mean Jimi was on drugs all the time to the point of being a drooling idiot. There was no acid in his headband, he wasn't totally stoned all the time. If you actually look into it those who were close to Jimi said yes he could take a lot of whatever but he was generally weary of drugs and those peddling them. He wasn't just always stoned and if you listen to his music he wrote before his death there's lots of messages about the culture needing to cool it with the drugs and focus on music and art. I just really disagree that LSD was a big part of his playing as you say, because the man recorded hundreds of tracks in 4 years, the vast majority of which are incredible and show his prowess on guitar. He practiced all day everyday. Always playing. That's why he was great. Not because of LSD lmao
God bless you Ted. I was born in 59 and reading your opinion on these facts put me on the right track. I kept my long hair but beware calling me the waste of air and space known as hippie.
Shinning " The Light" in the darkest places in Rock and Roll history was no small feat. I did not know that it was your passion for hunting that help you beat the devil's temptations.
What he doesn't understand bc he never tried drugs, is that drugs made people feel groovy, at least for a short time. Ted had his own demons that would have destroyed his life in this era...

Ted is a sicko
Because he wasn’t ever in those situations.
Ted is a draft dodging liar. 🤷🏼
Ted’s ‘drug of choice’ was women. That was certainly the part of the rock & roll lifestyle he embraced. I have always admired his stance on drugs and alcohol, but his loose lifestyle with regards to females, including some who were underage, is an area where Ted should have taken some advice.
Never heard that about the underage girls. Did it jam him up ?

Ted, my favorite guitarist is Michigan Sterling Heights' Jim McCarty. He is awesome.
Talked to him by phone one time. I have some autographed CDs from him. Give us some insight between McCarty and Hendrix.
What makes him think he's not an idiot?
Large ego.

I had long hair, and it started gettin’ kinky, matted up.”
Nugent continued, “Then two weeks before, I stopped eating any food with nutritional value. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer-stuff I never touched-buttered poop, little jars of Polish sausages, and I’d drink the syrup, I was this side of death. Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. Poop, piss the whole shot. My pants got crusted up.”
Nugent also explained that he was typically “extremely anti-drug” but “I snorted some crystal methedrine” in order to avoid the draft, which is ironic considering his long-held stance on drugs.
He’s told so many lies over the years that he can’t keep track of them all. Hence the nonstop contradictions.

The nitric oxide vasodilates your blood vessels which allows you to train harder, and being able to exercise harder you're getting greater physiological adaptations (as long as you recover) so I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to drink less.

And he’s a draft dodging POS
Tooting his own horn , trying to act like he’s a military veteran.
Charlatan
He should be nothing wrong with not being a drugger, stoners are a thing of the past as far as serious musicians goes!!👀👀😎😎😎😎😎😎
Teds right! Looking back he stood the test of time and hes here to talk about it
I had no idea Ted new Jimi personally.
Prolly didn’t tbh . He is a HUGE liar lol

I remember Ted back in the day (‘70’s). He was known for being drug free which was very unusual back then for a rock star. That took a lot of guts and he was a role model for being drug free. No doubt. Rock on.
@@basdfef4775 Then *_what_* was he known for back then?
@@basdfef4775 - LOL! Clown!
Jimi wasn't killed by drugs. Jimi was murdered.
@@kennethnick3213 Yeah I had to wonder about that. Jimi was "boogery", and lost his fire?
It is so odd knowing Uncle Ted was a part of that time. All these legends seemed so long ago and Ted seems so young.
He probably looks so good from never consuming drugs, alcohol or cigarettes.
You're 100 percent correct!!!!
Nugent must have been a rare fucking bird as a rock musician in the late 60s.
Wisest words to Live by !
Shinning " The Light" in the darkest places in Rock and Roll history was no small feat. I did not know that it was your passion for hunting that help you beat the devil's temptations.
Yet Ted couldn’t control his addiction to under age girls.😂
👎🎶💪🏻
What he doesn't understand bc he never tried drugs, is that drugs made people feel groovy, at least for a short time. Ted had his own demons that would have destroyed his life in this era...

I saw Uncle Ted in Waco, TX in 2017. I think it was the year he turned 70. He looked like he was 50.
Too bad Jimi played circles around you druggin n drinkin or sober.
Ted was right, his dad was tough--sent Ted to an all boys Catholic School in my town outside of Chicago...a few years later after leaving the Amboy Dukes he played at our High School, 1972...2.50 to enter.
👍👍👍 Good video Ted.

Ted gave Jimi a Neal & Bob, because that’s what Ted does best .

Yeah!!!! His true colored hypocrisy.
Ted was right all along through all the ridicule he experienced for not confirming he stayed true to his spirit and he lived to tell the tale

If only it was even 1% as simple as he portrays it. Or as he assumes it is.
A true “IDIOT” is someone who holds a strong opinion about a subject that they don’t really know anything about. 🤔
Exactly!
What a blessing now if anyone can understand that
Ted had demons of his own. People who live in glass houses... And he is probably a better hunter than guitar player.
