    I fixed mine! The clock setting didn’t work so I tried connecting it to the Charging Cord. I Plugged the Charge cord into the wall and connected the other end to my Fitbit as if I was going to charge it. I took the sharp end of my scissors and held down the little button that u use to navigate thru the screens on the side of the Fitbit as it’s still connected to the Charge Cord. The first time I did it the screen blinked and went out. I did it three more times and it came on! I was just getting ready to order a new one! Whew, so happy this worked. It’s working like it’s brand new now!

    My girlfriend and her stupid fit bit garbage and here I am trying to fix her crap. I’m going to use my 45 auto to disassemble the charge 4 to check the software to see if it’s properly running. 230 grain ball ammo should pop the back off effectively. Don’t worry, I saw this on a Simpson episode where you can open beers, turn out lights. The pistol is a great tool.
    Update, does Costco have a deal on Fitbit right now? It’s blown to pieces and is unrecognizable. I think I’ll just surprise her with a new one and pretend I didn’t just shoot it with my 1911 45 auto pistol. 😊

    I had the same problem with my charge 3. I contact Fitbit and had me follow some lo g restart peocedure. At the end they told me that it was out of warranty. They offer me a 35% discount on a new tracker. I kept playing with the long restart and after a 45 seconds of holding the button while in the cradle. The tracker start to work again. This is crapy selling speach and part of their internal procedure.

    This was done close to a year ago. Any luck getting it to work or having them send you a replacement? You said you only had it for 5 days. I would've made a copy of the receipt and sent it back with an explanation of what the problem was.

    I think it is gradually to become fully dark. My charge 3 is very dark now, and part of the screen seems black. I doubt it was from updating the firmware and burned the screen step by step. Then you could buy a new one as charge 4. It is enough! I will give up fitbit due to the lifetime is just 2 years.

      Exactly what has happened to my charge 3 , half dark other half not much better. Think I'll try another watch .

    Theres no more clock faces compatible to Inspire HR... 😪 my fitbit wont reset and wont swipe. It still shows clock and still syncing in my app but my watch wont reset. Pls help

    My charge 2 started to fade gradually from the rich side of the screen and now my entire screen is blank. I've tried the reset but this did nothing. I think the screen is just dead.

    It's not working any suggestions, I can't change the face as it is not connected to my phone 😢

      me too, any luck? Mine vibrates, but it's been a couple years in the cupboard and now no screen, can't sync it to app to change the clock, resetting by holding the 'button' down while in the charging cradle doesn't work either. Do I have to throw it out?

    I have the same problem but my screen is showing very faint. Will not be wasting money 💰 on any Fitbit ever again. 💩 product!

    I had the black screen, I was charging from my computer. Then I plugged the USB lead in my phone charger... and it fired up ; )

    Mine too. Was working fine but when I recharged it, it went black. All fit it equipment, charger cable and fit it charge 2. It was working, charging, then went dead while on phone with FitBit. They'll check my warranty. Not expecting to hear anything...

    Very disappointed too, same problem - just over 12 months and dead with no response. Off to the bin , never again Fitbit. Off to a Garmin.

    tried it all still black screen, reset it multiple times, tried on pc, on charger, all i get is the vibrations but no screen? anyone worked this out. Can the screen be gone or the connections come loose?

    I had this same problem on my Fitbit ace 1 but it happened when I used my new 24w charger so idk if it is over voltage

    Have you tried changing the clock face? Change it on ur phone. It worked for me. Try a couple different clock faces

      You should try contacting Fitbit customer service. They might be able to send you a new one.

      I plugged it in and then went to my app. Changed the clock face. The smiley face came on my Fitbit and now it works. Thanks.

      Solution: Replace the screen. This solves bad quality of your Fitbit Alta/Alta HR.

    How old was your fitbit before they decided to ship you a new one?

      I had the same problem, I tried everything and nothing worked. I finally tried charging my Fitbit with my laptop & it restarted. It is working right now. Try charging or restarting with a computer.

      Actually i tried soo many times...i just connects the Fitbit to computer...and did the same thing...it just vibrates only and remains the same black screen...can you help in that

      This only shows error 001. Inspire/Inspire HR/Charge 3/Charge 4 only. Attempt to update again, and if the problem persists, contact Fitbit Customer Service.

      Use a laptop or computer to restart/charge Fitbit. I tried everything & nothing worked, I gave up then I thought maybe using a computer or laptop might help & it did. Try it!
