Changing the clock face did nothing for me. I know it is working, just can't see anything! Would like to get to settings to change brightness but can't see.
My first Charge3 got returned to Radio Shack after a month - it simply died. My second one, inherited from my wife, has the famous, irreparable (change clock face, reboot, etc.) white-striped screen issue. No more fitbits!
Thanks for the video, I had NO idea about reset, I changed an alarm time and when I went to check it the screen died when I touched the alarm icon until I reset the fitbit via your instructions and all is good now. Thanks again :) (it did take me 3 tries to get it to reset )
I bought my wife the Charge 3 for Christmas (1 month ago) and this blank screen happened. The fix was quite easy... Go on your phone and go into the fitbit app. Change the clock face, and viola!!! The display comes back.
The volume of videos showing how to fix the issues related to the Fitbit Charge 3 is massive. There is a big problem if a product has this many videos out there showing how to fix. Now I am talking with support. Wish me luck.

I'm having the same issue however I don't get the smiley face. I've had my Charge 3 for a little over 1 month. I charged it over night, there were no charging indicators it looks like it still syncing to the app but just no screen on the device.
Sorry it didn't work for you, however your video DID help fix mine. It was capturing steps because I could tell on my app they kept increasing but no visual on the display. Followed your reset steps, saw the smiley and it worked so thank you very much for posting this.
DIsplay broken too for my mom's Fitbit Charge 3. Many users experience the issue, few call it a downgrade from the Charge 2. I got no smiley face having reset it. Makes me glad I got a Charge 2 instead of the 3. Sheer luck mine is still kicking. EDIT: You MUST clip it on the charger at a VERY specific point upon reset, and that Smiley face CAN or CAN NOT fix it. Your's smiled, but didn't revert to display so it would likely need to be sent back. Or given more attempts.
My wifes fitbit is dim and cant be fixed. Fitbit wont replace and makes excuses. A lot of shills in the comments. Maybe instead of shilling fitbit should fix the broken watches

OMGGGG so after you said to see the smiley face pop up I had done that then taken it off the charger then I pressed the side button and it just turned on o.m.g it stopped working on April 21 and it just started working today😰😰😳😭✊🏼😂
If I click the thing to turn it on it turns on but it only shows my heartbeat and the time and they are both correct but the heart in the scream doesn’t beat anymore and I can’t swipe it or do anything else plz someone help. Never mind I changed the click like people have been saying it it works now! 😁 I hope you get your fixed or replaced

I changed the clock face and that fixed it! I was so anxious, my charge 3 was my birthday present and it's only a month old

I met the same problem. I tried (1) changing clock and (2) tying restart my Charge 3. These didn't work.

It you paired with Bluetooth then u can change face but for pairing we can't see otp
while you have it on the charger, hold down on the side indent button until a smiley face appears and it will turn on.
