Yep, another reminder of Robotech: the Mercury's full body shape reminds me of a Zentraedi mecha. It also looks like a hovercraft with arms and legs slapped onto it. A part of that BattleMech sub-class of "deadly embrace" models, with those ape arms. Respect is due the original Mercury for fulfilling the role of omnimech precursor, along with being one of the first of its class fitted with accelerator circuits. It's a quick Light unit, both in mobility and in "Plug 'n Fight" gear load-out modification. The Clans' mod would be a beefier, slower type of unit. Choose between heat sinks, or that higher rate of speed. Some of the base model's variants were too-lightly armed in compromise to the 'Mech's need for speed, but that's why the different configurations wee designed. The "II" sequel is at least another historical detail for fledgling Clan Wolverine. I'll thank Comstar for nothing. A neat little pod of a light class model that seems suited to recon and operations against light forces. My gratitude to GDN, though, for your weekly expansion of this universe. There's always room for crab-walkers. Until your next sign-on, Narrator; be well and have an awesome week.
The Mercury to me only impressive when you're up against infantry are Some light tanks and decent if you know how to work it well but I do like painting them in different types of colors and using different outlooks to make them look cool like blades on their arms or give them that rusted beat up look it's always cool to make something that's not too cool look cool
Hello Grim. As I have said before, I played mostly as a Mercenary Commander, and thus did not have access to 'very rare' Mech types, like the Mercury. That being said, it is no wonder that I designed a Locust variant to be as fast or faster than the Mercury Mech for my uses. All in all, I would choose the MCY-100-UK, if I could lay my hands upon one. I feel that the combination of high speed, and long range hitting power of the ER Large Laser, backed by a Medium Laser, to be an effective combination of factors for a successful Scout and Interceptor design (intercepting enemy fast units). My comments are directed solely at the 20 ton Mech, and not the later 40 ton version.

The mercury in the old art work reminds me of the Turkina later down the line.

Thanks, Frank!
I like the classic Mercury lot better than the new catalyst redesign. The miniature also feels fragile.
Is it just me or does the Catalyst version of the Mercury look like a kitten?
Kind of like the older artwork. The newer does make it more like the King Crab; too flat and bulky.
A scrappy design:)
it's an UFO with arms and legs
oh hey you said that at the end of the video, great minds
You may be right :)
That's, uh, some nice line art clickbait you got there.
