He brought them up to explain the side effects of taking puberty blockers and how serious it can be. Doctors aren't throwing gender-affirming care at children willy-nilly. They do a BUNCH of verifications first. Also puberty blockers are reversible. Going through the wrong puberty is traumatic and torture to young trans people.

Speaking the truth isn't transphobic. This video didn't provide any actual evidence of Marcus having internalized transphobia and it's disgusting the way that members of his own community bully him for pointing out these truths.

Honestly this whole thing makes me sad. Of course we have faults in the community but seeing someone hating on young people who probably cannot afford transitioning and calling himself a biological female and saying that he was born as a woman and will die as a woman will always upset me because it's a constant cycle of self-destructive thoughts to have. Not only that, but it makes young trans folks like myself feel bad about themselves for not fitting into HIS standards. He's a bad example for the community and I'd be concerned if his platform ends up growing more over time. He doesn't care about facts. He cares about what the right-wing has to say about whatever thing appears in the trans community because we're not people to them but a political tool.
I do not mean to say that this guy is 100% correct, because he is constantly contradicting himself, so he’s kinda disproving his own points. But, he has some valid points and concerns. I believe that gender affirming care is good, but that it shouldn’t just be immediately putting a child through a lot of the medical processes that trans adults go through. There are people who actually detransition, or if they never went through a transition, at least experience feelings like “maybe I’m not actually trans” and especially in autism, which it’s statistically proven that gender dysphoria and autism have some sort of correlation. My cousin, all throughout her young childhood, displayed herself as more masculine, but in recent years, has started to feel more comfortable with a more feminine identity. That’s the kind of gender affirmation I agree with, letting your kids experiment with clothing and hair and pronouns, and letting them figure it out for themselves. But trans kids DO exist, and it is caused by a feeling of being trapped in the wrong body, whether the kid feels like they were actually in the correct body all along is up to them. Support trans kids ❤
