Commuter Destination sounds like something I'd install in a heartbeat. I've always struggled to find overburdened or unused public transport lines and I hope this will finally help.
@@Sathish_12 it might help. Cities skylines is very cpu and ram intensive. A good graphics card will help it look better but won't help it run much better.
@@Bendigo1 I have actually been thinking that, when and/or if, the developers make Cities: Skylines 2, that they should make it so that if you have a 2nd graphics card, you should be able to enable the use of that to alleviate some of the heavy CPU loads that the game needs to run its simulations.
Gotta get Commuter Destination now. I use AVO to add an entire extra level of realism to my city. I use the acceleration options for each custom vehicle (no ugly donut or hot dog vans in my city!) Small sports cars accelerate very quickly, sedans a bit more slowly but not bad. Big trucks accelerate like snails. When I fix traffic problems in my city I actually have to take into account the types of vehicles using the problem road and adjust accordingly. Makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes but the results are always worth it. I have a lot of roads in my road menu and finding the one I used can be a pain. So I use the Net Picker mod by Electrix. Select the picker, then select the road you want and the road menu opens with the road already selected. Really comes in handy when I want to expand a portion of my city using the same road. I keep emergency vehicles under control with the Enhanced District Services mod (EDS, I use an old version.) The new version looks better but requires extra setup. But it is nice not having emergency vehicles trying to cross the entire city.
Just a small thing for the vehicle spawner mod. If you have something like the Hyperloop tracks / station / train. You can prevent the Hyperloop train from spawning and then when you make a line have that specific train line use the Hyperloop train. It will spawn for that specific line, but won't spawn anywhere else.
On the building themes by district, applying to the whole city isn't actually a bad idea, won't actually fubar your game in any way, and is actually meant to keep your city as a whole looking a specific way until you set down districts and specify styles for those districts. Vanilla building behavior is to select buildings from the map's default theme and all your workshop buildings for any and all zones OUTSIDE of a district with a selected theme. The mod's behavior is the same, except it also throws in which ever vanilla theme is NOT the map's default building set. The functionality is just like policies in general... you can apply a citywide policy, but then turn that policy off for a specific district in it's district specific policies tab, or, leave it alone and whatever city wide selection is in effect will be in effect inside the district until you specify otherwise.
Actually, the game only lets you buy 9 tiles. 25 tiles is a mod too (that actually has less bugs than the 81 tiles mod, since the game doesn’t manage well infrastructure placed outside the 25 tiles
Another excellent video! I particularly liked the section on the new Commuter Path mod. You explained that very well and gave good examples. That could be a valuable video on it's own for people searching for info on that specific mod. Thanks Yumble!!
Loving the channel! Also, thanks for the laugh. Seems you have some Aussie twitch viewers going but the use of the 120 Collins Street and naming the pool after Harold Holt.....hahaha One other thing, with Advanced Vehicle Options, I like how you can increase/decrease the amount of passengers a certain vehicle can take (mostly of transit vehicles)
Hey YUMBL! I just happened to stumble upon one of your road tutorial videos a few days ago. Now I have just seen this one. I really have to say, that your narration, explanation, tips and everything in between are really helpful to me! Glad to have people like you around! You've got yourself another subscriber! Keep up the good work, much love from The Netherlands!
Along with the hotdog, donut, and bug vans, you have to get rid of that annoying personal electric chair. I hate seeing that thing running down the fast lane of the highway.
I think Realistic Population mod sets all LowRes buildings to 1 household, which doesn't always make sense. Especially if you download various buildings. But you can change the number for each building in-game. So if I see a building that is obviously a small appartment complex, I go and change it to 2, 4, 6, whatever I feel is realistic for that building. It will save this for all buildings using that asset.
i just saw this and clicked instantly. thanks for the recommendations, funny enough there that one node to close to another that wasnt going away in my city lol.
In addition to Advanced Vehicle Options, you can add the vehicles you don't like to the Loading Screen Mod skip-list, so they don't even load in. I need to set this up along with AVO as the default vehicles are just too silly, and especially for the cargo trucks, they aren't really appropriately balanced to an actual large city. Should save on some loading time and possibly memory usage.
Thank You Yumbl ! You made my day ! Some mods here I knew, but definitively answers I was looking for, for such a long time ... You're one of my favorite city builders. Love Biffa too in a more comic/ludic way :-) Keep it up ! and Thank you again !!!
11:24 - I saw people mentioning a bug with 81 tiles that every time you buy a tile, existing metro lines and stations move one increment deeper, so I think you have to first buy all tiles and then build metro lines in order to prevent that bug
The assets that Building Themes needs kills my eight year old processor, 16gb of ram, and my GTX 770. I really like how in depth you go explaining the mods and how they work.
In my understanding cims move in at the exact same age and live for exactly 3 years. I think that the real world will have trends and neighborhoods will grow old at similar times, but thats far more random than what Cities offers by default. I still definitely recommend lifecycle rebalanced.
@@YUMBL I was more so making fun of how the game handles things related to death. Another thing is almost no funeral home I know of uses a hearse to do transfers (collect the dead). Instead pretty much all funeral homes use either minivans with no rear seats, or unmarked vans to be as discreet as possible.
Great content! Would love to see you do a map with lots of elevation (mountains, waterfalls…) on 81 Squares. Adds a lot of new challenges, such as avoiding road & building deformation, water physics that you don’t get on billiard table maps and would like your perspective. Resources limits are also tricky to manage on 81 squares. Would be great for a series.
I did chuckle at the 81 tile mod section, not gonna lie. 9 tiles is the vanilla experience, so thinking its 25 is a bit funny, since the difference is so big even there XD
Two of these, I didn't have! Thanks. I'd love to see a video on all the different road options, too. NExt2, BIG, Vanilla++, etc (especially to replace NExt2, since it's having problems lately for many people).
@YUMBLtv. Since you have so many mods, how do you know what mod is faulty or expired after a long period of time causing your game to not open or crash?
An alternative to Improved Public Transport 2 that I really like is Transport Lines Manager 14. It's insanely powerful and gives you full power over setting up bus schedules based on time of day with alternate pricing and all sorts of awesome stuff. With the latest update it got a lot easier to use, though it still has a lot of improvements before I would call it easy to use.
Nice vid. Just got into city builds is there a max number of mods you can load into before they start overloading or can you just keep adding more mods and assets?
Mods will tend to bog down the CPU as your processor will have a larger workload with every new mod. Not all mods are equal so depending on what you get you might be able to run a lot or only a few. Generally though having a couple dozen shouldn't be a problem except on lower end hardware. For workshop assets, about 1200 / 16gb of RAM is a good number. I have 32gb with a little over 2100 assets and my RAM use is in the 20's. I'm actually thinking about upgrading to 64gb just so I can get more custom assets! XD
81 tiles is buggy. It sinks your underground metro to as low as it can go over time (48 metres or so). Any transition you have from grand to underground gets really ugly. While it's nice to have the entire map available, the bugs just are not worth it IMHO. Have you found anything for rendering underground tunnels? (metro, sunken rail lines, etc.) Going to have to try some of these other mods though, AVO and Realistic Population. Glad I found your channel.

Putting vehicles in a pack would make the file size astronomical. A lot of creators do put them in collections which is a list on the workshop of all their individual vehicles. You can subscribe an entire collection at once but then you're back to huge downloads. I just pick up vehicles individually as I get the results I want without much hassle.

Surface painter is currently incompatable with Node Controller Renewal 3.2 and creates unfixable bluewholes and other problems that make cities unusable. Is there any substitute for surface painter since i think that one is not as elaborate as node controller. Have lost two cities and would need help with that
How did you get the mods sorted alphabetically in that settings window? In my window they are totally mixed up :-(
“Sort mod order” is the mod.
Very nice and clear explanation!
Thank you :)
Love your videos Yumbl. You are my new favourite player/designer on RUclips.
I’m honored! Thank you very much :)
Very good. You just forgot Real Time. I am surprised to not hear much about it, despite it being as important as TM:PE
You’re right, i did not list every mod 😂
What would you say the best mod that rebalances things like power consumption and rubbish output
Which mod alphabetizes the mods in the options menu?
“Mod list order” i believe. Or something like that
How did you move the Electrix Road Tools icon? Mine won't move no matter what I do.
Probably with right click or ctl click, or double click. I dont use it anymore though. Network multitool is better.
So excited for more videos, keep em coming man. You're doing great 👍
I really appreciate it :)
Love your videos. I pause all other work to see your videos. Also the functionalities of theme mixer and improved public transport 2 are available in the base game...atleast it is for me because I don't have these mods yet I can do what you are doing in this game.. you can select themes now for districts and also vehicles for each line and set no of vehicles for each line in the base game
Is there a set or pack for the vehicles you have used as part of the Advanced Vehicle Options (cars, trucks, vans etc)?
Putting vehicles in a pack would make the file size astronomical. A lot of creators do put them in collections which is a list on the workshop of all their individual vehicles. You can subscribe an entire collection at once but then you're back to huge downloads. I just pick up vehicles individually as I get the results I want without much hassle.
My assets are all linked in my “about” page
Thank you that help for me!
:)
Wow, that's a nice map and those are really nice condos! Have you posted anywhere which assets you are using? Could you also please tell me the name of the map?
Also, I LOVED this guide, it made me rethink my choice of mods, for example, I didn't really care for the commuter destination but now I realize how powerful it can be, thank you!
Thanks for watching! My mods are in my about page. The map is called rolling waters.
@@YUMBL wow fast reply! yea i was a bit silly, see them now tysm
Hey Yumble, would you recommend using Advanced Vehicle Options if you have a rig with 16gb ram? Thanks for the videos. Love the content.
I would! The subscribed vehicles don’t tend to take up too much space, and AVO is great for removing unwanted vehicles.
is Theme Mixer removed from the Workshop??
Would you mind telling me what map that is? Looks pretty good for Sunset Harbor dlc. Thanks!
It’s called “rolling waters” in the steam workshop
@@YUMBL thanks! Adding it now. Probably use it for next series. Thanks very much. I enjoy your videos.
Great video bro. My new city is mostly inspired by your tips and tricks which helps me a lot to customize it.
Can I know name of the theme that u applied to this city? I have theme mixer 2.
It is really beautiful and I want to use the same theme apply to my city. But I am playing on my laptop with less RAM so downloading every assets to test is not my thing. so please...
Thank u.
Thats awesome! I’m glad the videos helped :) I’m not sure exactly what themes I used. I have a bunch and I picked each element by feel. The good news is that the themes are generally the most popular ones.
@@YUMBL thank u very much for your reply. Heading to steam workshop.
looking forward to your next upcoming video.
Do you have a list of the assets you use?
Check my “about” page
What computer do you have?
I just wanna know the best road mods for American cities that works with the zoning mod from first video. I like network 2 but won’t work with the zoning mod
goddamn why the hell did I install auto line adjuster when improved public transport 2 exists... also do you know of any good realistic tree packs?
Anything by pdelmo! I like “common trees” but “generic trees” are good too. Not joking btw. Thats what theyre called

You dont have a link to your twitch or discord in the description.
They’re in my about page :)
What's the name of the mod for all residential buildings? They look better than vanilla.
Its not a mod. They are all assets in the steam workshop
I appreciate the way u in depth on how to use the mod. It is so important to give us tutorial on all those mods❤️❤️❤️😇 maybe one episode one mod in depth explaination would be more helpful too. Please do it for us🙏🙏🙏
Which mod do you want to see in depth?
U did such a great job on each mod explaination ❤️❤️ i dont mind u go deeper on each mod settings such as all the check box in the option menu. Even how u r such professional! Cant wait the official cities skylines feature u in thier episode! Root for u!💪❤️
Thank you!!!
Please provide the links of the assets used in the shopping center area 23:59 ..
Specially the largest one.. thanks
Google “king leno steam workshop”. Most of them are his.
I can not get mods.Trying to load on a game that I bought on Microsoft, can you help? Should I buy from Steam or is there a reason it not working
You should get the game on steam so you can use mods from the steam workshop.
@@YUMBL Will my creator packs from Microsoft load on the new game if I link the accounts? P.S. love the content
Thank you! I’m not sure if the creator packs will transfer. Steam is just a much better platform for mods.
An excellent video... thanks 😊
Thank you! :)
Always wonderful explain. I'm still waiting a video with "Enhanced district service" mod, and, if u want go beyond, "Advanced Buildings Editor" mod :)
I havent tried it yet. You’ll know when I do!
@@YUMBL and I'll be here :)
Love your channel. Many helpful tips. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for watching!
Love you Videos - Kepp up the great work.
Can you tell me how you manage to make you own "tram"?
Thank you! My friend BlueThunder made all the YUMBL transit assets for fun :)
Excellent video, hot dog van needs to go.
But also, have anyone ever figured out how to prohibit the ore trucks from going out to the highways/motorways? Also big rigs are going to get ore in the quarry. Is this even addressable?
You’d have to swap out that type of vehicle using that same mod. “Advanced vehicle options”
When you didn’t build the corkscrew and said we’ll live... we died. Thanks
Glad I could help! 😂
@@YUMBL assisted suicide 😆
so i got the vehicle mod and i did the same thing you did and i keep getting error messages, any pro tips??
Did you turn off a vehicle that is necessary for the save to function? For instance if you turn off cargo planes and build a cargo airport it will show a pathing error.
16:32 at the right hand side, why is there multiple turn lanes onto a bend?
1:23 Where did you get all the vehicles?
The steam workshop! :)
