With bearings, it's complicated. The new bearings, such as ILQ9, SG7, turn very lightly and are noiseless. Get yourself a new skate like the Rollerblade Twister and spin the wheel. It is incredible how light and quiet they can work. However, the seals in the bearings are weak (non-contact) so dust and dirt get into them and over time the bearings make noise. At this point, even cleaning and re-lubrication will not do anything, the bearing will not run like new (already damaged).
On the other hand, there are bearings like Bones which are lubricated with very thin oil. They are not silent from the very beginning. Generally, a new bearing will rustle when lubricated with thin oil. And this is perfectly normal and such a bearing will spin very fast and lightly.
On another hand, even a slightly damaged bearing, as long as it is clean and lubricated, is not useless. It may not be perfect, but it can be used for sure. I have regular RS sealed bearings, which have been used in the rain more than once, they make various noises but are cleaned and lubricated with Bones oil. Of course, they do not work like new and when the wheel spins loosely, you can feel wear. But during normal roller skating, it does not bother me at all, they are fast enough.
A lot depends on the person what their requirements are. If someone is very sensitive and needs maximum quality, he simply has to replace the bearings with new ones, as mentioned in the video, when they start to make noise, or after driving in the rain.
If someone is not so demanding, it is enough to take care of lubrication and cleanliness, and even bearings that are slightly worn will be sufficient and will serve for a long time.
BTW, as for ILQ and SG, I do not know what it is lubricated with and whether you can get such a grease, because I tried different greases and none of them gave such a good job as the original.

    Fantastic technique for that task.

Awesome, I used to do the whip and the 6mm/8mm trick. But the hammer is another nice way indeed.
Thanks for this vid, once again! 🔥🔥🔥

the hammer is only for metal core wheels. it slightly dameges the bearing spacer, whipping is easier on your gear.

thanks. another good way is to put the bearings in the freezer and the wheels in hot water.

I’m using spacer with extra ring outside (ufo shape) on metal core wheels. And you said that is screwd. Help me then. 😢

you could try to hammer the bearings out like we did with an axle. but instead of an axle you can try to use a slotted screw driver. if that doesnt work, then buy new wheels
