I just sold a dining table I got for free for 400 yesterday and picked up my first couch today, wish me luck
#1 this guy knows what's up. I'm an experienced couch ( sectional flipper) in the Los Angeles/ orange county area and his info is spot on.. The only thing I would add is save on storage when you start by storing the couches in your backyard. I put mine on pallets and cover them with big sheets of plastic I get from home depot. Also this makes accessing the couches easy to. Also, once you've been successful and you know the process works ditch the crappy Bissell and go pro....get the mytee lite heated carpet extractor. Pro car detailers use if to clean upholstery for an interior detail. I use mine for sectionals. Get the kuppet steam gun for like $150 also. Be sure to buy the orange degreaser from 3D. . Use the 3 things in tandem. Results are unbelievable. #3 Don't take pictures of flaws. The buyer already knows its a used couch. Just price it correctly. One guy told me about some discoloration, sun damage after I delivered it. I told him " yeah, that's right. And thas the exact reason it's a $300 couch sir. If this couch was perfect it'd be closer to $900 and delivery wouldn't be free too. Literally this stopped him. Like the light bulb in his head turned on. Show the good things, down play the negatives and get that $$$$. J.stone

thanks for the great video. I was coming home from my daughter's Sunday afternoon and passed a couch that looked great by the road at her neighbors. I went home, got my wife, went back, loaded it and brought it to my house. We vacuumed it, steam cleaned it, took photos, posted it on Marketplace for $75 and sold it within 2 hours. Met the lady at Publix 15 minutes after she answered the ad. I gotta do more of this! I want to make $47,000, too!

I’m about to start doing this and it is kind of difficult to start, mainly cause buying a used truck can be a hassle. Finding a descent one and getting it on the insurance so I can transfer the title has taken a while, and costed me 1300+. Definitely doable, but it takes some commitment.

I've been thinking about couch flipping, but the #1 issue I fear most is bedbugs. I'm hesitant about this business for that reason mainly. I've watched several RUclips videos about couch flipping, but nobody ever brings up the issue of bedbugs. I wish someone in a video WOULD talk about in some way.

@@ratboyop2910 yup, and yup. Like anything there is a huge learning curve and you have to do your research, run your numbers, buy good equipment to make the job easier, and be willing and able to make mistakes to learn what sells in your area and for how much and to learn what you can repair or want to repair and how. But its for sure a viable business or sidehusle, especially if you already have access to some storage space to store and clean and repair. The lower your monthly set overhead expresses the more likely you will succeed because you can afford the time and money to make mistakes. Trying to go to big to soon will eat at your funds and add stress at the beginning so i suggest starting small and getting your numbers and systems down to a science so that you know that if you expand you have a better idea how that will effect profits or losses and if it would mean you need to hire people. I personally took a month to do my research first on how to clean and repair and what to purchase before setting up my storage and shop space and starting to buy couches. I also tried to start with free couches so i could afford to make mistakes on them and learn to do good repair work without risk.

More people will say no helping you especially if it's upstairs or heavy so I'm thinking flipping Couches is better with two people
My biggest concern is some couches having bedbugs. Not only am I concerned about any potential customers getting bedbugs in a couch they buy, but I am also concerned about any bedbugs getting into MY house while I am storing some of the couches at my house. My second biggest concern is the issue you have . And that is not having anyone to help me get the couches and deliver the couches. I seen in a video for that situation where he says you can get someone from the taskrabbit site or find someone from facebook marketplace and pay them a small percentage of what you make in profit from that flip (or whatever they charge). This might our best bet. But my concern of the bedbugs? I don't know. I would very much like to see the issue of possible bedbugs talked about in one of the couch flipping YT videos.

Nah it’s all in the photos and simple descriptions. Don’t put your sentences together like a paragraph always double space makes it a lot easier for people to read also learn how to light your photos with natural lighting it’s as simple as paying attention to where the sun is in the sky and placing your couch towards the lighting to catch the lighting the best and you’ll dominate the couch game if you have these marketing tools down in a densely populated area. Also having somewhere to store a couch is key. Transportation is a simple as working the uhaul cost in the price
