20:01 Maybe do one of those total conversion mods that are out there. There is one for Halo and Star Trek I believe. Either that or maybe try playing with the NSC2 Mod which adds multiple new ship types such as exploration cruisers, battlecruisers, strike cruisers (I swear there’s more than just new cruisers). A ton of mods are also compatible with it. I think the Star Wars ships mod you’re using might be, or have a version that is. Sins of the Prophets has a mod compatible with it.
Why not do both. The ecumenopolis will solve housing on the core for a long time while also giving him ludicrous amounts alloys and consumer goods, while the rings will make for a very powerful economic center for base good production and whatever else Shack thinks of.

Like if nasa discovered interstellar travel and decided to up and leave the rest of us to fight over oil in the world of today. Your species has no central, unifying government. You are a mega-corporation focused primarily upon research and application of interstellar technological advancements. You and your paramilitary operations provide aid in research and helping the individual nations of your species establish off-world colonies. Patrons could opt-in to play as these individual nations if possible.Just colonize a world, set it up, create a sector, and give it independence. Just to mix things up. The goal of this is to give you as little territory and resources as possible, asserting the notion that you are not a major military power in the universe. You establish branch offices, research agreements, and possibly make subsidiaries of your patron nations. Due to the lack of resources you will turn towards a research focus, and focus on the quality of your ships.
Perhaps it is time fot the republic to undergoe a massive overhaul and expansion of the galactic republic's galaxy wide infrastructure and navy. In this I suggest a campaign to reorganize the republic's production from the unorganized random placement of production facilities (districts and buildings) to a more centralized system with the planets being more specialized in function to take advantage of bonuses provided by this specialization. Also, a reorganization of the navy and starbases are in order. In it some of the ships in the fleet will need to be redesigned to fulfill new roles; here is my recommendation for the new ship designs: corvette-keep the same; destroyer- refit one of your ship classes with bow-picket ship and stern-picket ship sections, you can keep the other design with both gunship ship sections the same; cruiser: bow- artillery, core (midsection)- broadside, stern- broadside ship sections; battleship: keep the carrier as it is, the other one bow- artillery (replace with spinal mount when spinal weapon tech becomes available), core (midsection)- broadside, stern- artillery ship sections. The creation of all corvette (they have the largest piracy suppression value) patrol fleets (the glitch related to patrol routes is fixed in your version of the game) to keep piracy down in conjunction with more use of trade routes. Some of the starbases may need to bee redistributed around republic space for increased defense of the republic's still recently acquired territory. Some starbases should probably be filled with anchorages and a naval logistics office to increase naval capacity (you may be good. now but you won't be latar) and creating aditional shipyard starbases to build the fleet. Specializing a planet here and there as fortress world filled mainly with strongholds (they provide hoising for the pop that works it), a planetary defense cannon, planetary defense base (time to use them), a military academy (you can use the planet to train some excellent troops) and all of the soldier jobs will produce a lot of naval capacity to really sell the idea; you can also use habitats for this too. When you get your next ascension perk you should have the one that unlocks ecumenopolis' available as I think you have researched the tech that unlocks it. I highly recommend going for it as the the unique districts you can build with it will allow you to make a truely amazing amount of alloys and consumer goods. Lastly, contrary to what you said in the video your unity production is quite low so build those unity buildings. They have four levels and the second one (the first upgrade from the base) cost no exotic resources, but beyond the second upgrade it does. I am sorry for the wall of text and hope you atleast use some of these ideas as this took me a while to create.

I vote the Age of Wanders III or Planetfall as replacement from Stellaris. I think it falls into our kind of chill strategy game with story potential where you can name Cities and Armies and Generals from your patreon list appealing.
Jack And shack have vary diffrent play styles. Shack is more casual, while jack is way more serious. while i would like to see what happens i think it would be better for them just to do short one offs like a battle not a full fleged series.

You shouldn't sacrifice unity generation AT LEAST until you've got your Ascension Perks claimed.. but... the Edict like bonuses you get after that are pretty amazing too. Lastly... Please... You *NEED Trade Hubs* to collect trade value in your territory! You've got *70+ free energy credits* per tick just sitting there uncollected. *Trade Hubs, and Off-World Trading Company's* will boost your "power" SIGNIFICANTLY my friend. You're still doing alright/well so far. I believe you could beat the endgame crisis if you continue to build up your economy. :) Hope you notice, if not my comment, than someone else's that is able to convey these recommendations to you Cap'! :)
How the Republic developed plans for the Death Star: Okay imagine a giant nipple cannon the size of a moon up in space, that fires giant fiery green lasers of death. Perfect for defending our planets and 'Liberating' other planets. We accidentally made the prototype for this station in our 'Planetary Resurfacing' program, we tried to level a small mountain and actually leveled the entire planet. But don't worry we will put this station into strong and capable hands. He has a long history of naval tactician with a large follower base. we tested him by putting him in front of 100 shiny buttons to see his willpower to not press all the buttons, 99% of the time he pressed the button. The 1% was DEFINITELY was not him splashing a cup of coffee on the button, test lasted about 8 minutes. He promised not to press the red button on the Death Star just to see things go boom.
I just got a stupid idea when you mentioned leaving notes on the map that sounds pretty cool. Make a 4X game like this but in VR. You can move the game like this around you in 3D space. Zoom in on the individual systems. Manage planets from a godlike view point. Have tactical control over your fleets kind of like Homeworld. All while being right in the middle of everything because of VR. Even designing your ships from this view point.
Shack, you need tge Mega engineering research to build/repair the structure. It appears in the research tab around citadel station and larger ship size construction. So if you dont have it. Try working on alot of engineering research

Every time Shack reads the super ion research he only reads that it gives super planetary ion cannons. But he never notices it will allow him to equipt SUPER HEAVY ION CANNONS to his ships 😭
Was it ever explained why Shack is passing up the regenerative hulls? I always choose that as soon as I can. That way my fleets can push out in wars and not have to come back to a friendly station for repairs.

Shack , would you consider going rogue on a few episodes and one leader makes it a dictatorship or emperor as a coup then the story lasts for a couple of decades before the Senate is restored , you could rename it the first order after the leader
So since I’m early I have questions about the base version of stellaris. I have console version and I’m confused at how the AI ALWAYS has a higher fleet number than unless it’s after a war they loose. I don’t understand it. And I’ve never been able to beat a game either.
patrol craft I imagine should be patrolling ther systems &/or sectors detouring pirates, and offering a little defense for invasion... essentially militia/police
Pretty sure if any empire in the galaxy research's jump drive it has a chance to trigger the Unbidden spawning and they are insane. In my opinion the hardest end game crisis cause not only do you have to kill them all if you take to long the game spawns even more empires like the unbidden and it basically turns the whole galaxy into a shit storm. My advice don't research jump drive tech and start building your fleets and fortifying any choke point along hyper lands in preparation for the end game crisis.
Shack, if you want to switch off of Stellaris, I recommend you pool your effort into Empire at war The Remake. Would love to see you do a Galactic campaign as the rebels, but you do have Awakening of the rebellion up. Making more episodes of it would also be welcome.
Okay, for the third time in this series I'm going to say this. GET GOVERNORS ON ALL YOUR PLANETS! This will solve a whole host of planetary problems. And the default weapons you're ignoring is weakening your starbases as they use the these weapons for the base itself (the modules use "best in class").
Were I you, I'd wipe out the Khanate near your space once you can, and then go after the Mon Cal Kingdoms. After that I'm thinking the Empire will be sore at losing their ally... hoping the Mandos don't get uppity in the meanwhile

Not sure how you like the battlestar galactica universe, but if you're looking for a space strategy game with more battlefield control, BSG Deadlock might fit the bill nicely.

Shack, you need tge Mega engineering research to build/repair the structure. It appears in the research tab around citadel station and larger ship size construction.
So if you dont have it. Try working on alot of engineering research

Every time Shack reads the super ion research he only reads that it gives super planetary ion cannons. But he never notices it will allow him to equipt SUPER HEAVY ION CANNONS to his ships 😭
Was it ever explained why Shack is passing up the regenerative hulls? I always choose that as soon as I can. That way my fleets can push out in wars and not have to come back to a friendly station for repairs.

Hey Shack, your next Stellaris series should be Mirror Starfleet. They have an interesting storyline that could be cool for a series!
Shack , would you consider going rogue on a few episodes and one leader makes it a dictatorship or emperor as a coup then the story lasts for a couple of decades before the Senate is restored , you could rename it the first order after the leader
So since I’m early I have questions about the base version of stellaris. I have console version and I’m confused at how the AI ALWAYS has a higher fleet number than unless it’s after a war they loose. I don’t understand it. And I’ve never been able to beat a game either.
patrol craft I imagine should be patrolling ther systems &/or sectors detouring pirates, and offering a little defense for invasion... essentially militia/police
Pretty sure if any empire in the galaxy research's jump drive it has a chance to trigger the Unbidden spawning and they are insane. In my opinion the hardest end game crisis cause not only do you have to kill them all if you take to long the game spawns even more empires like the unbidden and it basically turns the whole galaxy into a shit storm. My advice don't research jump drive tech and start building your fleets and fortifying any choke point along hyper lands in preparation for the end game crisis.
Crisis don't happen until 2400. He's fine for 30 or so years

Shack, if you want to switch off of Stellaris, I recommend you pool your effort into Empire at war The Remake. Would love to see you do a Galactic campaign as the rebels, but you do have Awakening of the rebellion up. Making more episodes of it would also be welcome.

This will solve a whole host of planetary problems. And the default weapons you're ignoring is weakening your starbases as they use the these weapons for the base itself (the modules use "best in class").

Were I you, I'd wipe out the Khanate near your space once you can, and then go after the Mon Cal Kingdoms. After that I'm thinking the Empire will be sore at losing their ally... hoping the Mandos don't get uppity in the meanwhile

Shack I think after your stellaris run you should do another sins of a galactic empire let’s play. But take over every planet, to make it a challenge, and a little more lengthy than your past videos.

Not sure how you like the battlestar galactica universe, but if you're looking for a space strategy game with more battlefield control, BSG Deadlock might fit the bill nicely.
