One thing that I love about remote islands is how many well maintained older cars there are. I have so many buddies who are constantly leasing new electric or hybrid cars rather than just buying and keeping for 25 years one Corolla

Agreed, their videography skills are amazing. I wonder if they still do all their own editing, or do they have outside help? (Which would be totally understandable.) And if they do it all themselves, then when do they do it?? lol

Your videos are a tonic I look forward to watching every couple of weeks. I was at St. Helena in 2014 and; the weather was just as wet as you have experienced. The highlight of our trip there was visiting the stately, Longwood House, Napoleon Bonaparte’s residence for 5 years until his death in 1821. You tell a great story. Safe passage to the UK.

You two are amongst an elite group of " Stanley and Livingston" class world adventurer's. Very few accomplish what you have done. My wife and I have sailed the coast of Alaska for 20+ years for months at a time but that's nothing compared to what you have accomplished. Good luck on the next leg of your voyage. Fair winds and following seas. Sail On!

I've sat and watched 20 of them swirling over my head in the Maldives, it's so, so magical... Fair winds to Brazil!

Wonderful video production quality. Having such photogenic material helps, but it take a lot of skill and exceptional talent to capture it so well. Many thanks. All the top YT sailing couples are obviously skilled at creating sailing videos, but you have the eyes and and feeling and the wide range of shots required to convey the reality of a small yacht interacting with the wind, the waves.

And that swim with the ray was a remarkable experience. I once had a similar experience with a Manta, as interested in me as I was in it, but then others joined and one went to touch it … and it was gone. Other occasions with dolphins coming to introduce their young to these awkward bubbling creatures attempting to swim under the surf as they guided past. Wonderful

With yet another cinematic adventure under your belt: it's time to cast some shade. The Annapolis Sailboat Show hosted a YCA awards ceremony. Winners pale in comparison to yours. IMHO, YCA is more of a popularity contest. The more T&A shows, the more views. The who's shagging who, for some. If ever there were a more deserving channel, it would be yours. Thank you for the hard work and effort you deliver. You're reaping your rewards by living life to the fullest. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆A mantle full of awards. 👏

A volcano in the middle of an ocean. A small island in a temperate zone of an ocean, typically it rains often. What ever blows over the ocean just continues on through and there is no tempering of that due to a continental land mass. No doubt it is very green, at least where there’s soil and not scoria, in your case. I live in Auckland, New Zealand. It’s very green here as well. It rains often in winter and spring, most days in fact, at least at some point in the day. This is the home of “four seasons in one day” as is St Helena I expect.

Hi Matt and Amy, its good to see you again, I didnt even know St Helena exist, to be quite honest with you. As beautiful as the tiny island is I myself would be a bit scared of living Off Grid on this remote location. beautiful under water scene from the lovely manta ray fluttering through the water, I love those sea creatures. I ve heard of a very old tortoise living on the island of Mauritus, prettty much the same age as the tortoise you found on St Helena. But dont get me wrong I still think Jonathan is the oldest living being on earth. As always stunning views from the exotic island of St Helena. I wish you the best for the balance of your trip on your way back to England, bear hugs to you guys, hope to see you soon, rgs

Thank you for another wonderful episode. We arrived in St Helena 21 years ago after an 18 day sail from Simonstown and remember it fondly. It was February and much sunnier and hotter. I don’t know if those hikes were in existence then. I just remember fields of flax. We did walk up Jacob’s ladder though! Is it still there? There were no rental cars but a local driver took us to see the tortoise and some scenic spots. We all had good times at the restaurant, Ann’s place but don’t know if it is still there. There were no mooring buoys then and we all anchored and caught the ferry ashore too. We had to pay a hefty daily fee for medical insurance and only stayed eight days before heading to Brazil. All the best for your trip there!

Such stark contrasts in the landscape for such a small island! St. Helena is one of the most remote populated places in the world, a beautiful little paradise in the South Atlantic. It was "interesting" that you received a rather cold reception there from the immigration authorities even though you are UK citizens. The post box hikes must have been fun if a bit challenging with all the steep trails you had to navigate. Looking forward to your visit to Brazil.
