The only reason so many people believed their guilt, was because back then we were at the mercy of newspapers and TV news, it's the only information we got, so when they report bullshit, that's all you have to go on. My heart still breaks when I think about this. ✌❤
Not a joke, even though its been made into one, and also not the only child to be killed by a dingo. It was trial by media at the time and there were people on either side. Poor family.
Avis and Cliff Murchison (Lindy's parents) were my next door neighbours along with her brother Alex. I went to school with Alex's kids. This destroyed the family
That was a horrible time! We couldn't believe the terrible stories the press came up with, like satan worship and sacrifices! So few gave them the support they really needed! For Australia, this was just so wrong! They also had two sons who's lives were changed! ☹️
There have only been two recorded fatal dingo attacks in Australia but tragically both were children taken from tents camping. Azaria at Uluru and a nine year old boy attacked on K'gari 2009 (I think the year).
Fun fact from a tragic event. The Chamberlain's yellow 2 door LX Torana has been fully rebuilt and restored back to the original condition and was donated to a motor museum after recently been completed.
In my opinion blame for the original verdict can be blamed squarely on the media. They were printing and airing wild speculations right from the start. They were the ones reported on how she dressed and her demeanour, criticising everything. As she said it didn’t matter whether she smiled, cried or remained stoic she couldn’t do anything right. The media just didn’t care about the effect on Lindy or on justice they had an opportunity for a world wide audience and they were milking it.
I always believed that the Chamberlains were 100% innocent. After they were found guilty at the second court case in Darwin I was guilty of joking that it would have been impossible to find twelve sober jurymen and women in Darwin. 😢
There was an American Movie made. Lindy was played by Meryl Streep. Lindy was innocent but treated like shit. The jokes by American shows were disgusting...
I think they deserved more compensation for the years of reopening the case. It was like they were trying so hard to find guilt with the parents. It makes me sick to be honest. It's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty and the way this world is, even back then in the 80's it's guilty until you prove otherwise. People are so quick to judge and bring their own sentence down upon these people as well as others when they really don't know what they are talking about. Just because someone seems guilty, doesn't mean they actually are. It isn't our job to judge a person, no matter the crime, it's God's and that is something people need to get through their thick skull. Unless you are an actual judge, what right do you have to say what should happen to someone.
I haven’t watched your video yet, not sure if I will. Can you please change the title of your video as it is EXTREMELY offensive for Australians who watched Lindy & Michael go through the hideous trial by media with that horrible catch phrase. That catch phrase represents one of Australia’s worst ever miscarriages of justice. Imagine an Australian were to make jokes of school sh**tings in your country, you’re doing the equivalent with your title. This story isn’t a joke: these people lost their baby & then Lindy was framed & incarcerated unfairly
I recall it well. It was trial by media and it still disgusts me how the public turned on the poor mother.

The "jokes" about Azaria's death and Lindy's wrongful conviction are absolutely disgusting.

52 recorded attacks on the mainland. More if you include Fraser Island.
@chrisbodini1808 not fatal, all I was implying if you read it.
Why block my reply again utube.
Is saying "yes that's correct" terribly offensive or antisemitic now?
Fun fact from a tragic event.

@@taniaPBear Michael Chamberlain wanted it done as a memorial to Azaria. Why is that creepy?
@@taniaPBear Bit of a low ignorant reply there. Imagine if Mr Chamberlain or other family members read that? Think!

Sad story of mob mentality..
9 month old baby weighs' from 16 to 19 lbd . a dingo 43 lbd . it would struggle to run away from a person ///
She was 9 weeks old. Not 9 months.
