Reeves has said very recently he'd love to play John again. The people who created the movie have wanted to do a sequel for a while but didnt think Keanu would do it. So I think its now 'in the works' Whoop!
I don’t think it’s in the works just yet.
Remember that after Reeves said that he would be open to play John again, he then said, “I’ve tried”, probably meaning that he hasn’t had much luck in getting a sequel.
But given his rising popularity with the John Wick franchise and his return to the Matrix franchise, I wouldn’t see why Warner Bros. want to develop the sequel.
Truth is this is the most underrated comic book movie of all time
I would like to see that :).
Isn't he already playing John now? John Wick! 😂😂😂
lol he just loves playing as himself in movies
Fun theory: Lou said that John cut too deep and cut the tendons, causing loss of the use of his fingers, but when ascending to heaven he flipped Lou the bird, meaning that act was sanctioned by God himself.
Lovely idea, but no. Constantine cut the tendons, which are used to bend fingers. To flip the bird, you straiten the middle finger.^^
@@galdramann2478 ...which God healed, granting John the ability to flip the bird to Satan on his way out.
@@qrrbrbirbel2 God did not heal John because John would not need his body in heaven. It was the Devil that healed him
@@ronniebots9225 the only thing the devil healed in John was his cancer; what was killing him.
@@galdramann2478 You don't straighten the middle finger to flip the bird. You bend the other four. Skeletal structure of human hand is about 80% straight by default if no force at all is given.
Such an underrated film. I loved this and always hoped they'd do another. This film was one that improves with age. And let's face it, Tilda is amazing in everything she does.
Something i love about this movie is Lucifer. Everywhere else he is always portrayed as a human (his form i mean) doing monstrous things. In this movie he is a monster (pale as hell, black goo all over) doing really human things like messing around with john (his lighter for exemple), jealousy towards god (when he doesn't want to lose john soul) and pettyness (when he removes the tumor).
Peter Stormare suggested and got several changes to Lucifer. Quality actor whos minor parts are often memorable 👍 (casting of Gabriel is very good too)
He's a Lucifer I'd like to smoke a joint with.
The things I love about this movie.
1) Based on comic books.
2) Keanu Reeves still kicking ass during a time he was unappreciated.
3) Tilda Swinton playing a great Gabrielle.
4) Gavin Rossdale, lead singer of Bush, did a better job than given credit.
5) Always been a fan of Rachel Weisz
6) peter stormare, he was perfect Lucifer, creepy, powerful, funny... top tier acting for this movie
@@MrFirsito definetely !!!
as I'm sure you know, it's not really based on Hellblazer but I love them both - it is such a good movie, I hope they do a multiverse thing with both constantines from the movie and the shows
@@MrFirsito If I may: 7) The best cinematic depiction of Hell (IMHO, anyway)
Damn 2 reminded me of time when people used to think he was a B grade actor and made fun of him, ohh how times have changed but he still remained the same.
Am glad he's so much appreciated now a days, man deserves everything
Peter Stormare is one of the best on-screen Lucifers for me. Such a great character actor. And such an underrated film too. I caught this in theaters when it came out, and had a great time. It's one of those movies I have to just let play out when it comes on. Of course, there are some definite religious inaccuracies, but it's done in a way where it's like, "we know this is inaccurate, but we're going to make it entertaining to make up for it", and I think they did a good job of that.
I haven't read the comics yet, so I can't say if this is a faithful adaptation or not. But from what I've seen, it makes me want to find out. I think this movie justifies a sequel. Constantine is one of those roles you can actually pick up 15 years later, with Keanu playing the grizzled vet. Fingers crossed that goes down. 🤞
If he DOES reprise the role, I'm calling it now: it's gonna be John Wick as Constantine with the long hair/beard. 😆
You want to see a great portrayal of Lucifer? Watch De Niro in Angel Heart.
@@n0tk0sher Or "Aragorn," I mean Viggo Mortenson, in "The Prophesy!" But I agree, Stormare did a great performance...
This John is kinda different than the comics. The tv show was the more accurate version although the studio didn't want him smoking lol
At the end of the credits, his friend who dies by Gabriel shows up.
Of course this is standard in super hero movies now, with post credits scenes.
Fun Fact: This is Keanu Reeves’ first DC film, and he gets his second film in July when he voices Batman in the animated film, DC League of Super Pets.
Underrated movie. It is so good. Hope there will be a sequel.
Yes it is true, yes he was nailed on the cross, but he was alive for a while, so to quicken the death, he was speared in his side.
What’s up Homies!? A few things you questioned on the video.
-That lady at the beginning is the arc angel gabriel on second to Michael as gods top angels sent on important mission.
-The spear in the beginning is the spear of destiny, the spear the Roman’s used to stab Jesus Christ in the side to make sure that he was dead.
-the black guy in the club is a legendary voodoo priest.
Papa Midnite was actually a villain in The Comics although he did reluctantly work with John against greater threats on occasion.
In the DC Comics, Constantine is blonde and British. He is also a very powerful Mage. There was a short lived "Constantine" t.v. show in 2014, starring Matt Ryan that was way closer to the comic book version of the character. You guys should do a review of the show, it was only 13 episodes.
Constantine is an awesome DC character love this movie
The Story of the chair is that it was in a prison and used as an electric chair.
Over 100 people were electricuted in that chair.
With magic, water, liquor and electric, you can see the past in the chair.
I wanna see another Constatine movie, but ONLY IF Keanu is John.
YES!!!!!!!!
Finally another reactor watches Constantine!!! Lol I love this
Please have the rest of the crew watch this film. Let them know it’s a DC film too!
Guys it has a last post-credit scens, it's like the happy end
It's such a good movie..FYI -In the comic book Constantine is British and has blond hair...but this works for me. There is an extended version of this where his sidekick comes back as a half breed angel.
I mean Keanu`s Asian-Canadian IRL.
Actor who voiced Constantine in the animated show played the English Constantine in the 1+ seasons of TV series.
I really hope they bring back Constantine in a DC film or show. Keanu did say he was open to playing as John again
I haven’t seen this since I was a kid so I definitely don’t remember this movie like that but that bathtub scene definitely got hit stuck with me the look on her face when she tried to get up if “you got me fucked up” was a person 😂☠️ I mess around and buy y’all patreon 💯
WE’RE GETTING CONSTANTINE 2 BABY!!!! 🎉
Possibly my favorite comic book movie. Love the reactions.
That is part of the lore about the spear of destiny that it was taken to a small church in Mexico and hidden.
This movie has been in my top 5 favorites ever since I seen it. Such a badass film.
"It has about 30 meters range" hahahaha this is why I love reaction channels, thats never even crossed my mind, but not ill never not be able to think about the AoE of the spear of destiny
The effects in this movie hold up amazingly well.
this movie Is from 2005, how ahead this movie was from this time?
@@raphaels33 α lot!
You missed a little cut scene at the end relating to the young lad who had been working with Constantine he had actually been guiding Constantine without Constantine knowing ;) Great film and I do love how the Devil is portrayed in this one.
"i was waiting for this" kiss, kiss.....LOL
Constantine always reminded me of the film The Prophecy from 1995 with Christopher Walken
Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me of this movie, great role of Viggo Morthensen as a devil
I’m glad you watched this. I didn’t think you would! Very good movie! I saw it in the theater in 2005 with my mother. To this day it’s the only movie I ever saw in the theatre with my mom! Lol
"Dogma" is good and thought provoking.
Two angels are trying to become human.
It's a DC character and he have his own tv serie for 1 season only. After he was in the other Tv serie "DC's Legend of Tomorrow".
At the end since Gabriel lost her wings she is now mortal and as a mortal has a clean slate and has committed no sins. If Constantine had killed her she would have gone to Heaven which is why she was so eager for John to kill her at that point.
We need a Justice League Dark movie. With Constanstine (Reeves) leading a group of supernatural heroes.
I liked this movie. My favorite part was the end when it makes you think he's putting a cigarette to his mouth but it was gum. 😆
Great movie guys! 🍻. Did You know it’s the same Constantine on DC’s Legends of tomorrow” tv series?
This one’s a classic👍🏻
This movie is great, i have not seen it until now and its really great. May i suggest watching Legion, if you want to. Its about angels and demons also too. And trust me the angels in here are really awesome even if they're wings are cut off.
There was a short lived TV show follow-up to "Legion" called "Dominion".
I love this version of the Devil. He just ooozes black oil but has a perfect white suite.
Trivia: the girl that was possessed at the start said "papatayin natin sila" which translates to "We will kill them!"
If you watched to the end of the credits, you saw that there is at least one last scene.
Gabriel: Father?
God: You're adopted.
4:08 Was the most adorably hilarious thing of the whole video 😂
Great film choice. Great reactions
There's a little extra scene at the end of credits
There was a short TV series season of Constantine, different actor. He has show up in Legends of tomorrow series.
There are 3 anime movies with Constantine in it that are good too
You good folks skillfully edited out Shia LaBeouf😂😂😂
I love this film 😍
Me too!
@@michaelmcgee7683 Same
hey!! I don't know if you didn't see it, but there is a post-credits scene, you have to see it!!!
This movie has a final scene after the credits.!
10:23 do you recognize the melody in the sounds of many telephones? I wonder what kind of music we hear
Hahahahah loved the jump scare
Constantine plantea un juego de poder entre Dios y el Diablo, por eso está película es tan interesante.
Es lo más interesante del personaje, y se expande mucho más en los cómics
FUN FACT: Constantine have an ex boyfriend named King Shark..lol
Correct me if I'm wrong pretty sure that s not in the comics only in the justice league dark movie
A favorite actor...an underrated movie...
Thanks !...🌿🌿🌿
That wasn’t the end of the movie. There is a post credit piece. You missed it. THERE WAS MORE!
Man Keanu Reeves is a national treasure tbh. This movie is so good and has aged well. I do hope that they remake it with him or do a sequel.
Where you guys are from?
Loved this movie cause is so logical....I knew at the end that he couldnt go to hell cause he sacrifice himself just like Jesus did for people so Constantine was the same....what I didnt expect was that Devil was sooo mad about that he will returned Constantine health so he could have a chance to get him.....was so funny when Constantine claims about the cats name.....what is wrong with him??? or about the cats name??? I remember I was the same that Angela was....like what? you think thats strange but not the exorsism that you perform??? or the demons that you see the whole time??? another great movie of Keanu Reeves
Love this movie guys
Well you guys haven't see the ending part of the movie you'd better check it out ASAP 😎
I'm sure Christianity is just a fairy tale and pretty sure that God doesn't exist, but it's a fun story and I love Constantine's depiction of it. A great film.
Favourite Lucifer in movie history :)
i learned after watching this movie after 4 times it has a postcredit scene
Give Red Dog (2011) a watch. I think you'll all love it.
45:50 Lia got jokes LOL 😂🤣❤️✌️
my favorite homes, Bang-up job as usual
there is a movie called priest, if you liked this movie, you should like priest as well.
Что у нее на футболке???
Did you watch the post credit scene?
I missed the scene in the end credits for a couple of watchings of this.
1:54 larry is a wee bit evil 😈
no reaction for the after credits? Jhon's apprentice becomes a half-breed angel when he was visiting his tomb
miss the post credits
My favorite people reviewing my favorite movie.😊🤘❤
Just check how many "patients" who died from exorsism
This is one of my favorite DC movies... but unfortunately this one is a bit underrated.
They missed the end credit scene 😵😵💫😵
18:01 Larry got jokes LOL 😂🤣 damn Larry now I want McDonald's 😢😭
Larry at 1:58 you scaring Lia made my day lol 😂🤣 I love it when you scare her lol 😂🤣
Animated version of Constantine city of demons is a class of its own the series Constantine is also class above the movie Kianu is a really good actor but he is not suitable for Constantine's character if you want real Constantine energy that's something you need to watch.
This was one of the films that got me into a Gnostic phase.
"The Devil's Advocate" (1997) is better. It also got the best acting from Keanu Reeves, Charlize Theron and Al Pacino.
Great movie and highly underrated Keanu Reeves movie.
Can you also react to Point Break and My Own Private Idaho with Keanu Reeves?! My two favorite movies of his (though I love a lot tbh!!) 🥰🙏
You guys never watched the end credits scene? Damn what a waste it's actually really good
That’s where he visits Chaz’s grave right? Cause if so I thought that was an alternate ending?
Love this movie. Hoping the second one is good.
Noo you cut him getting hit by the car.
At least the subs didn't spoil the bug demon but it told you it was Satan before you realized damn it.
Nooo the after credit scene!
I forgot that Shia Labeouf was in this.
This movie is my favorite
I thought Christ on the Cross was actually killed by the Roman Spear?.
Too bad you didn't know that there is an after credits scene, which is you would have loved
The best Lucifer in movies.
Loved this movie
It is actually true that Jesus / Yahushua hung for 6 hours on the cross and the soldiers were told to end it. A spear was thrust into his side piercing his heart and water gushed forth. The others had their legs broken so they could no longer lift themselves up to take a breath.
Fun fact this is a DC movie
such a great movie!! based on hellblazer comics!! but not really. but if sc got their sh%$ together and wanted a uni, they could add in swamp thing, and maybe even introduce gaimans the endless. and maybe even coraline!!! live action!!😊✌❤
anyways, even tho this movie is very not the comic book version of John Constantine, it could be used as a jumping off point!😉
The sequel is confirmed!
larry, always nice when you make an appearance 👍🏼✅
I like this version of constantine better in the comic it puts him as bisexual and takes every monster he comes across
Larry and lia you guys should check out a movie called stigmata
Belief and presumptuous or a batch...
They was calling Gabriel her but the character is a androgynous male but played by female actor.
The After Credits Scene you missed......
