I am not sure if the suspension problems are related with the way of driving. I have a 2004 break HDI model, zero problems with the engine, zero problems with suspension, it already had 10th birthday and I drive in Costa Rica that it is famous because so many holes in the streets and heavy rainy winters. The back part has more useful space than two or three times more expensive cars and I even carried concrete parts for my home, a sofa, many things on the roof ... I really like the car and as any other car it is necessary to invest on maintenance.
mine turns 10 this November, 184.000km, no problems whatsoever. paint quality superb, engine makes NO vibrations at idle, you think its switched off. I always change oil, plugs, filters much sooner than Peugeot recommends and use TOP oil. no problems at all. i am extremelly happy with my car
I love that car too , mine is 17 , 305.000 kms , no problems with the engine or anything like that , the engine is still pushing quiet haard when i want to push it a little bit , Peugeot is one of the best car maker ever
@2741718 Also the problem with cheaper cars is often related to the users not taking care of them properly. If you follow the service plan that comes with the car it wont be a unreliable car. But the people buying cars in this price range often tend to be to cheap to follow the plan and thus the car have a much shorter life span. We put salt on the roads here in Sweden during the winters. The Peugeot can take the abuse but the Mercedes', Jaguars and Opels rust like nothing else.
I survived 2 crashes in 307s, both totalled, one was pretty much a head on collision with a wall at more than 70 km/h I'd say, and only had bruising and pretty much nothing else both times. Great car in terms of safety
Agreed. my peugeot 307's been working for all the years i've had it, it's now becomming 8 years when it's december (dec 2013 ) only problem and things i've really had with the car was: Changed the summer tires once spark plug problem ( my local car mechanics dident change them and they went 66 000 km's without changing them ) and now i've got one slightly loose outer tire rod, The car's a dream. not too good at fuel consumption @ 20 mpg in city driving but all cars suck at city driving MPG ;P
@2741718 Let me get this right, you sold a Peugeot 307 and bought a Mondeo, which in fact actually performs worse in crash tests than a 307, and then you are boasting about the Mondeo quality? I have a 307 HDI which has served me for over 300.000km without any hassle, not the best looking car i must admit, but there is nothing wrong with the build quality.

I didnt have any problems with mine but i just pointed it out at my local dealers and they replaced them free of charge. I got sports coilovers as well. As I said earlier, i drive a HDi which means im unaffected of the problems you are referring to. Also i have a premium package car which means full leather interior and better sound proofing.

I know a guy who survived crash in this car. It was head on collision at around 50 km/h. He only had seat belt injury (bruising), otherwise nothing.
