haha sorry for the big gap in posting, but decided I wanted to try something new. I hope you all like the new style because I have created enough content for one month. After that I will see what y'alls response is and then i will go from there! Much love as always. Be sure to join the livestream on @simplymax 9am the 12th (Vietnamese time). EDIT: Locations are in the description box
The first restaurant combines bun and spring rolls. It’s so convenient to eat two kinds of food at one time! At the second restaurant, you discovered that the biggest danger of eating on the street is getting splashed with sewage. Your expression was so cute, haha! The third restaurant is very similar to a Stir-fries (Stir-fried Food) Restaurant/Shop in Taiwan. I wonder if you have tried it before, I believe you will like it! That bowl of noodle soup at the fourth restaurant is so rich in ingredients and looks so appealing! The fifth restaurant sells not only noodles, but also human touch. Everyone sits on the chair and eats noodles together. It feels very warm! The way you hold chopsticks is very standard and deserves praise! Thanks a lot for sharing, really great job! 👍🥰👏
I like your comments for being specific about each stage. We so sure that the 1st combination is not only convenient, it's also real tasty (much depends on the good sauce, in fact). To be honest, I have never considered Bún chả giò to be a combination of two kind of food. Like... who eats only noodles, right? it would be tastless. they must have something to go with the noodles. But maybe it's because of the food culture that I grew up with is different to the others.
My husband and I just went back to Vietnam for 2.5 weeks, mostly family matters but we did enjoy our stay, minus the heat and traffic noises. I can make most of the Vietnamese dishes in the US but I cannot find fresh meat or snails like those they have in Vietnam. In short, we really enjoyed the snail dishes we had in Vietnam. Your video just makes us wanting another trip back already, and we had just arrived home yesterday! lol...
As a Vietnamese born in Taiwan and grew up in Australia. Heading to Saigon before 2025 and it's been too long, will take all your recommendations you, LEGEND! Your pronunciation is on point brother. First watch and subbed!
I'm so impressed, not only with his knowledge of the local food, but his pronunciation.... I don't know how he remembers everything....thanks for the video
There are many Vietnamese restaurants in the US and even on Facebook, they ship Vietnamese foods from fruits to snacks to your house. Just look around where you live if you live nearby Vietnamese community. Foods in the US is much safer than in Vietnam. There was just a case of food poisoning in Vietnam involved more than 300 victims. Food poisoning in Vietnam happens like on a daily basis from children in schools to outside foods.

Hi Max, from Australia. 🇦🇺 Loooong time follower, first-time commenter. I have always loved your style of holding the camera and filming yourself - it's one of the reasons I've continued to follow you on RUclips...but THIS new format is awesome!! Love that we can see you 'in front' of the camera (not joined to it), and the editing and general vibe of the video is fantastic! Very professional, and can't fault it. Massive thumbs up from me! Moving forward, a mix of old and new would be great. Thanks for the content.
Tôi là người Việt Nam mà tôi không thể tường thuật miêu tả đồ ăn đường phố hay như cái cách Mắc Ơi làm. Quá hay, quá chi tiết. Tôi cảm thấy như tôi đang ở Việt Nam.
The way you speak, I wouldn’t be able to tell you’re foreign just by listening. Also you are able to speak politely. I’ll try to check out these locations during my visit. Many thanks.
Welcome back Max It has been a while since your last video. Somehow I miss it 😢 cause you’re the most informed Vietnamese food blogger. Love the way you described the texture and taste of each dish. You enjoy the food more than the local lol 😂 and yes, these dishes are not to miss in VN. My all time favorite are com tam and bu’n thit nuong …
For those that haven't experienced broken rice, the fine texture completely changes the mouth feel compared to a whole grain rice. To me it's almost like couscous. Thanks again for another great video Max!!
Good to see you back in Saigon Max! The new editing style is on point 👌🏻 We met once in a cafe shop ✌🏻 you should do another line for cafes reviewing too, would be a pop!
Yo man, you stepped up your game. This new style is great! Keep it up man. But I also don't wanna completely lose the old simple driving/walking around content.

Happy to see all the Vietnamese people open arms and welcome you. And glad to see you said “Hello Vietnam”. Love your video, especially the one with the com tam where you said the rice was as small as grits. My wife and I spent some time banging around Saigon in 2018, and we want to get back there.
The leaving some sweet fish sauce left for the Cha Gio dipping indicates that you're a man of culture! Absolutely love your personality as well as your taste, very authentic and satisfying!

Vốn chả giò hay miền bắc gọi là chả nem được làm ra để ăn kèm bún, sa này theo thời gian nó mới được tách ra thành 1 món ăn riêng biệt
They didn't invent that. That is a normal Viet food dish. Bun and spring rolls and pork.
