Awesome Value Fixed Blades, for sure! It's hard to beat the "Bang for your Buck" value of these great Cold Steel Fixed Blades. Great Video! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I also carry a fixed blade daily. Fortunately given the area I live in, nobody has ever said anything about it. I do get looks but honestly they’re looks of jealousy rather than actual fear. Living in the middle of nowhere has its perks.
@@chadthunderd1ck734 yeah, I agree. I think with more states becoming open carry, Texas, and now Florida is open carry as long as you’re hunting/fishing. I think more and more of society is getting used to it. Plus I really don’t see a problem with carrying a fixed blade, even in an urban environment. Especially the fact that most of them are 5” or under so it’s not like we’re walking down the street with an Irish claymore or some shit. Lol and if you check the knife laws in any state besides California and New York you’ll often find pretty reasonable knife laws. Most states don’t care as long as it’s not a spike, dirk, spear, or dagger(edged both sides) you can carry fixed blades legally almost everywhere
You talked me into getting 2 of them.the compact to carry and the big one for the front of my vest. I always carry a craftsman speing assisted folder. Not the best looking knife but i use it every day and its a famn good knife especially for unde $20. I like it so much i bought 8 of them when Napa started clearing out their craftsman tools.
Great looking blades. I'm going to get the larger version in one of these two colors. Thanks fot the demo. Cold steel should do a grey stonewash blade version too.
@commonsensepreparedness5329 To carry your knife, buy an ulticlip for $15 and remove that nylon strap that's screwed on. Just put it in your front pocket
I really like compact SRK. I’m not a fan of the hollow grind. That mini Pendleton hunter is a awesome knife. It is really to keep screaming sharp. The SRK is basically 1085 so it’s also easy to maintain. Funny how coldsteel makes up new names for steel. I carry mine with one strap on the inside of my belt. I had a Camillus coldsteel when I was in the service. Back in the 90s they were extremely thick. I really like the compacts grind it’s a great do anything knife.
Mini leather neck by cold steel. Those are the best EDC knifes on the market. And they only run 30 bucks with out a c clips. With c clips about 45 counting shipping and the knife and clips. Thee knifes are wonderful for EDC work knifes where a larger blade is needed. But for a fix blade knife that's reliable and useable get the leather neck edc
Im considering ordering the small tan one. I have a black 7in one I got as a gift but it's to large for EDC carry. So I leave it zip tied in my f150 beside the seat belt. It's been there 10+ years now and I've used it alot
I carry a Jars Echis (German Brand) scout style, nobody has ever noticed I carry a fixed blade 😊 downside is it's as expensive as all of the SRKs on your table 🫤 but its a fun little knife with N690 steel and G10 handles... The green compact looks nice 🤔 seems like I need a new knife 😅
I didn't see the axe and knife combo.. Midway USA has exclusive srk's with Orange handles and I saw one with 3v steel. They were on sale I ordered the srk and srkc the other day.
@@t.k.o683 I didn't see the 3V one on sale, must have missed that. I don't need another one in the same steel but I would have liked to get a 3V for comparison.
It's a good deal for 3V steel, the question is do you need the extra toughness? I didn't for an EDC knife but if I had wanted it for hard field use I would have gotten 3V for sure.
@commonsensepreparedness5329 This is my first fixed blade and I rarely camp.however On midway usa its the same price as the San Mai. Not a fan of the SK5 color.
@@CoasterCoat I've stripped a blade of the coating before but since I don't think you can remove these handles that might not work, but it could be an option.
I like theses knife but the cold steel carry options kinda suck in my opinion. You have to find your own way to carry cold steel fix blades. I would like to carry scout Carry not on the belt. Nice review
I ignored/avoided these knives for years...snobbery is all i can think of for my reason. Cheap, and probably nasty, i thought. Wrong ! Probably the best value ...bang for your buck...in the knife world. Now i own 3... 2 old skool Carbon V and a new SK 5 .. which came shaving sharp! And, with another SK 5 one on the way today, I Must get one more in cmp 3v ... Then I'm set! $320 AUD :-(
Seems like it depends which forge made it and when. Mine are all flat, I think a hollow grind would be all wrong for a blade that needs the extra strength to baton and whatnot.

Weird how different countries have different laws. You would be in jail quick sharp for carrying in the UK and it would be a hefty sentence as well.
With a tecklock the SRK compact can be carried horizontal and isn't really noticable. Its one of my favorites to carry!
Thanks for the tip!
Where could you buy the technology lock? Thanks Kyle

That's my setup, compact for EDC and full size on my search and rescue vest. What color did you go with?
After using all manner of knives in 60 years i gind the SRK is as close to a perfect knive ive used

Cold steel should do a grey stonewash blade version too.
I've stripped and vinegar bathed a blade before and it looks great, I just don't know if the SK5 steel will rust even after vinegar oxidization.
OG od green C walk
Your funny 😂 you bought all of them. That's something my Dad would do in the past.

Sk5 is a Japanese carbon steel that is pretty common.

Iis ok to have a fixed blade in a backpack when going through metal detectors at shopping centers?
That depends on the laws where you live.

Do that in the UK and you'll have to spend a very long time in jail.
I got the desert tan ..thinking it would be the GO for me.. No.. it's kinda washed out. Bought again, in FDE ...😄👍😄🇦🇺
I have several, just wish they had jimping on the spine
Orange and black exclusive on Midway USA website!!

I found that their simplicity makes them feel great in the hand. They don't try to be over the top. Just a basic, ergonomic knife to cut things.
You need some c clips
Any particular brand or place to get them? I will look into those.
