Fans putting forth these talking points are basicly saying why are you not putting your queen in the front of the enemies pawns in 3rd move, do you lack balls? - No Im just playing the game, and being strategical. I can understand he is frustrating to race against, and maybe for fans of other riders to watch as he doesnt give away much. He just doesnt seem to give up and seems to be untireable, while not saying much, that can be demotivating for his opponents, he gets in their head, a bit like Rocky bilbao in the movie, he just stands up and continues after getting hit after hit. But all his actions shows he is sharp and only plays smart, and if you understand the sport well, who has what strengths which stages favours who etc. Its not rocket science he is playing by the book. But I believe he speaks the truth that he really doesnt know if he has the level this year, which makes complete sense with the crash and lack of training in mind.
Jonas comments are very mature and confident while remaining humble. I actually have more confidence that he will win this year than before the interview.
Sure and it probably irritates Pogacar that he can't rattle Vingegaard no matter how it goes. Pogacar's comments yesterday was clearly signs of frustrations. He probably has flashbacks to the 2 priors years whenever he sees Vingegaard clinging on to his wheels. He probably has nightmares about seeing Vingegaard behind him... Pogacar tries to bait Vingegaard into exposing himself and lose more time before the high mountains because he knows that 1.5 minutes is not large enough a gap...
@@duxuca Absolutely agreed. Pogacar said that Visma and Vingegaard are afraid of him, and in a different interview Vingegaard responded calmly and collected "Yes, we are afraid of him. He is so strong. Especially on gravel"... once again, not taking the bait, just staying respectful and classy. The thing is: Pogacar is also very afraid of Vingegaard. No one knows if he will actually be much stronger in week three. But naturally Pogacar has reasons to be afraid of this, so of course it would be excellent for him, if he could get Vingegaard to make a tactical error by having the Dane work way too hard on a stage not suited for him on a bike which is not his. That would have put Pogacar in a position to drop Vingegaard later in the stage, like he actually did. I would also feel like "darn it... why can't he just ride without a brain"? UAE brought a team for the mountains. Visma couldn't do that due to injuries/sickness. Could they at least ride the best tactics they could on a stage not fitted for Vingegaard at all without being blamed for riding with the inside of the head? Anyway, I respect all of them and I just look forward to the rest. Hope it will keep on being close and exciting unlike the Giro.

Jonas is so calm and logical that it's impossible not to like him. I'm a big Pogacar fan but the more I listen to Jonas the more I look forward to seeing them race. Two different personalities and different approaches to racing, but this is what makes their rivalry even more interesting.
Nice to see a pogi fan not just hate on Jonas. Somehow he just gets a lot of hate for his quite and calm personality, but dont be fooled he is sharp mentally and physically. @@81enriI heard it as he meant, they all have not been challenged that much by the level of difficulty of the stages (and not that Pogi hasn’t challenged him enough). So he can’t assess whether or not Pogi is better than last year.
@@81enri Actually it is. Jonas looses seconds here and there but usually gains minutes in week 3. Tactics and strategy. The one that uses least time to get to Nice wins. It´s a 3 week race, not a sprint.
Vingegaard here shows maturity, shows inner confidence and self belief, shows honesty, shows grit, shows adult mind. Pogacar and Remco not so much, more childlike He’s riding great, terrific in fact. But there’s still an issue: vingegaard doesn’t have the miles in his legs. Please v thus only push when it matters and never any where else, b c without those training hrs you can cramp up on a hard push. And lose 15 min in one stage Only push it and drop p last 3k of stages 14 15, there you win tour and otherwise coast wherever you can so you don’t cramp up. Do not push it. Do not attack, except twice. You push it esp on a v hot or a v cold stage, you cd cramp up. Stay smart just as you are.
Aaaand that would make it the most boring Tour ever. 2022 was entertaining with Jumbo being offensive but they have been riding mostly defensively ever since. They'll become another Ineos, tons of talent and just pace everybody off their wheel in the mountains, creating snoozefests everytime.
As a cycling fan I really found Visma's ride yesterday brilliant (in Chris Horner's words). This is looking great for the upcoming stages. Should be very interesting.
If I were Jonas, I'd have asked the other two if they thought he is a fool or an amateur, adding that Pogacar had lost two Tours de France to an amateur. Seriously, if the other two attack on this stage, it's because they think the terrain is favorable to them; Vingegaard, in his mind, certainly thinks the terrain favorable to him is the third week and the altitude... And yet he should play into the hands of the other two, obeying them, pedaling where the other two have decided he should pedal? No, each to his own. Vingegaard is not a Paris-Roubaix-type rider. However, we saw last year and the year before that Vingegaard knows how to attack when he decides to. And Roglic is certainly not Vingegaard's problem. So for me, by these outbursts on interviews, they're really not respectful. I've always liked Pogacar; I thought he knew how to lose with dignity and even a smile. But now, after taking 7 minutes in the mountains last year, to say that Vingegaard is "afraid of him", that he's a "wheel-sucker", is a bit arrogant; and the other guy has every right to be cautious, especially after his fall in the spring and a certain lack of bearings. As for Remco Evenepoel... what can we say? We can imagine that in the Pyrenees he'll be seeing more of Vingegaard's ass than his balls (pardon the expression), and perhaps from a distance. I'd add that Remco was also unhooked at one point, and that Vingegaard didn't ride against him either, whereas Remco could have been in trouble. So, to come and say what he says afterward, when Jonas didn't do him the favor of riding against Roglic, when Jonas didn't ride against him either, for his sake, seems to me to be talking like a headless chicken. It's a bit like someone saying something as lame as "In recent years, Remco hasn't had the balls to come to the Tour"...

Jonas Vingegaard is going to be a formidable opponent to Tadej next weekend and in the final week of this year's tour when they hit the high mountains. He very well may win.
Just my view but I think Jonas will decline in the 3rd week as to me it looks like he is not quite on form and is struggling a bit. It's week one and he was out of racing so I'm sure he's just trying to get in adjusted to being in the TdF again. Jonas himself has said he no idea how he will react in the 3rd week. But who knows maybe he will get stronger over time, which would be a miracle given what he has had to recover from, I just have my doubts. One thing I do know for sure is this era is one of the best rivalries the TdF has ever had, we should be happy to have Tadej and Jonas. I am happy also to see Remco in the mix, given it's his first TdF we really don't know what he will be capable of. I would think he will struggle on the long climbs but I also think this is the time we finally see him step his game up to the highest level.
His team is really the only reason he hasn't lost the tour in the first week. He will come good in the mountains as that's his terrain but his team has done an outstanding job keeping him in contention.
Vingo said it himself that his weight is not ideal for this TDF hopefully he’ll reach his peak soon before they hit the Pyrenees. I still think Visma still the strongest team even without Sepp!!

And as we know for years, Visma is very interested in mind games and reversed psychology. i.e, after Jonas's last year TT crazy performance, Visma chose to attack other riders for drinking alcohol to take heat off Jonas instead of addressing the elephant in the room. When Jonas was asked about his performance, he kept giving blank answers and provided "no comment" when asked why he missed a drug test before the season started. I'm not accusing Jonas of anything, im just saying that only a fool would trust Visma and Jonas. @@Eline_Meijer I think we are pretty much in agreement. I don’t trust VLB (Rabobank) either. My opinion is based on seeing JV crash before leaving the course in an ambulance and then seeing the social media post of him leaving the hospital 12 days later. I have to think that his injuries must have been pretty serious for him to be in the hospital for so long given how hospitals operate these days. If the whole thing was some kind of hoax or they are playing it up to be worse than it actually was for some kind of psychological advantage it’s really kind of lost on me. In fact it seems to me that claiming that he was more seriously injured than he was just invites more attention/scrutiny as to how he could possibly recover and be on such great form so quickly. But to be fair, you are absolutely correct, I certainly don’t have any particularly special insights into the full extent of his injuries beyond that…
It was a trap from Remco and Tadej! The Soudal car radio remembered Remco that Jonas still wasn't on his bike to take advantage of that situation. They wanted to deplete Jonas to later both launch an attack on him and make him lose time. Have you seen how amicable has been Remco to Tadej every day at the Tour? He is always approaching him before and after each stage... That's not normal.
Love Pog but thank goodness for Vin as it would be a boring race, with Tadej likely to be even further ahead. The sport needs their rivalry and imo Vin did the right thing yesterday, as that was a classic Pog stage. The mountains is Vin’s target
It's such a great rivalry. I'm rooting for Jonas and he doesn't need to justify anything. Pogi and Remco are aggressive and that can pay off as well. They are all great to watch.
There was a point during the gravel stage , when Vingo , 1 of his teamates and Pog were off the front , and they still wouldnt share the work on the front , they could have put some time into Remco , if Vingo hadnt raced so negative

I think Jumbo has clear plans considering the level of preparation of Jonas. They focused on specific stages, and is clear that in the others they are trying to not loose to much time, Joneas is clear on this. I am a Pogi fan but Jonas is more rationale and has a clear view on the entire Tour. Pogi lives the moment, is more fun more explosive, more mind open

I never understood why in the world anyone would think Jonas should have worked with the guys. Especially pro cyclists. These are arguably the biggest contenders for the GC. Why would Jonas help a rival at his own risk? That's not even advanced tactics, that's just an obvious smart move. How Remco got mad about that is beyond me. Don’t know what race you are watching, but based on the eye test, Pogacar is stronger than JV. All this talk that Pogacar is going to be burnt out in the 3rd week, but JV is going to get stronger is not based in reality. JV could easily bonk forced to go into the red on subsequent days. It’s not due to ability, but because his legs lack the requisite racing necessary to win a 3-wk tour. So far Pogacar hasn’t pushed too hard & when he has, he picked up time. So far, I see no indication that JV can drop Pogacar. JV will need his team to bleed everyone dry, but UAE might be too strong this year.

He has thw traditional approach to gc.not waisting any unnecessary energy. This has paid off in the last 2 tours for him. Pogacar juat cant keep it in his pants and its cost him in thw third week.
This tour has been created for Jonas. At the end two hard stages and a time trial. Like last time at the time trial he will be juiced to the max (with legal stuff, Ketone, a company is their sponsor). Pogacar cannot take it as much (last year after the TT he couldn’t feel his legs a known site effect). Thus, Visma and Jonas are excellent in performing a plan, and Pogacar has the mindset of a racer, while no patience for tactics. Two different approaches. Everyone knows the tour will be decided in the last days, can Pogacar control his race demons until then? Unfortunately, I doubt it, he loves racing too much.
1. Ketones are proven to not work 2. Jonas has stated multiple times he does not take ketones cause it fucks his diggestion. 3. Even if Ketones worked it would be a minor minor thing, aero socks would be of way bigger significance. But Metanalysis shows it really doesnt have any effect.

Jonas is in my opinion such a hidden race genius. He is playing chess. The clear opposite is someone like Remco.
3 totally different styles and i like all of them. It makes for great racing. Tadej the racer, Jonas the tactician and Remco the bruiser
Jonas comments are very mature and confident while remaining humble. I actually have more confidence that he will win this year than before the interview.
Well. good for you then, that is truly amazing!!!
He is just so levelheaded and classy. No matter who tries to pick at him he just stays calm and gives a nice respectful answer.
@@duxuca Gave it a "LIKE" but I think Pogocars REAL nightmare are when he does not see Jonas behind him anymore but ahead of him 😜🤣😄

Somehow he just gets a lot of hate for his quite and calm personality, but dont be fooled he is sharp mentally and physically. the team has done so well its amazing... even without Kuss, team changes and Van Aert not being 100%
If I were Jonas, I'd have asked the other two if they thought he is a fool or an amateur, adding that Pogacar had lost two Tours de France to an amateur.

A newbie insulted a 2x champion…
He's loaded with all sorts of medicine. 😂
Its funny to say that about him and not Pogacar whos winning all year in all terrains.
Pantani ebbe molti incidenti e ritornava a correre sempre piu' forte di prima
You cant win in any kind of sports if you have no gameplan. Thats visma game plan, just chase, follow their wheels and never attack. Maybe, visma is just waiting for the right stages that fit for jonas to launch his attacked
Right, they picked 3-4 stages to go all out last year and dominated on 3 of them. With one fail that led to a 20 something deficit. While he gained minutes in other stages.
ehm ya, but ya, that ya...
The Tour was run on dirt and gravel roads for MANY, MANY, MANY years.
First Tour de France 1903. Pretty sure not every road in France was paved in 1903.
Jonas needs to stop whining
"Riding smart!"
@Remco get 2tdf gc first then all can listen shit.
Vingegaard is a doper.
@@soulripper31 Evidence please. The earth is also flat just trust me bro.
"I don't see only Tadej as a rival but the whole 10, even more"
Don't see the points to follow those interviews, they bullshit all the time haha
Jonas: “after the crash, blah blah blah”
Tadej was in similar situation last year and I never heard that.
Only he wasn't. 😅
Except Tadej broke a little bone in his wrist whilst Jonas was in ICU for 8 days with a tube in his lungs because of a pneumothorax, pulmonar concussion, broken ribs, broken collarbone etc. He speaks about that crash because this crashes are life changing events. He even thought that bike racing may be not worth it anymore.
Yeah but nobody feels sorry for him, because he's so arrogant
@@jorgevillalon5209 he talked about how this affected his training all the time and Tadej was in similar position last year. Remember, his team director said he won’t let Jonas race in Tour de France if he is not 100% fit.
@@singchan4472 Jonas is not 100% fit, it’s obvious and visible in his race tactics. As I’ve said Jonas and Tadej’s position last year are not even close. I remember Tadej posting training on the indoor bike few days after his crash whilst Jonas just thankful of being alive 1 month later.
Id say scared
Jonas is riding like a 🐈⬛ at the moment and can’t keep hiding behind his teammates expecting them to drag him around
Pogacar fanboys 😂

Jonas Hansen
he has jo chance to win anyways
Go Pogi 🇸🇮
Love Remco. Finally someone with some testosterone.
Remco is an idiot for his remarks- There was only one focus of VLB and that was ‘don’t lose time to Pogacar’ on a stage perfectly built for the winner of the last two editions of Strade Bianca
Testosterone without a brain is dangerous!
You mean low self esteem ?
Is high testosterone what made him crash into journos after finish line, when he spazzed out and didn't realise he should have used brakes?
exactly!
The anchovy speaks!
Answering the belgian and slovenian potato!
''"If it looks like a wheel sucker, it rides like one and it acts like a wheel sucker, then it is a wheel sucker. Signed, Jonas Vingegaard," with Remco Evenepoel even going so far as to claim that Vingegaard lacked the balls to ride with himself''🤣
This dude is just a robot that has to function for 3 weeks every tour de france
Cycling is entertainment and you have to have BALLS to entertain. He's boring....
What do you think is more important to a pro cyclist, entertaining YOU or winning the Tour De France? Take your time with the answer.
@@jasonnalls6404mic-drop!
@@jasonnalls6404 all sport exists to entertain. winning is a by product. spectacle, panache and courage is what people want to watch.
@@jasonnalls6404sports involve spectacle. No spectacle, no fans, no fans, no sponsors. Like or not, atheletes are here to entertain. We can pretend that sponsors don't care about influence or entertainment but they do because it drives business. The athlete is not participating for his or herself. They are participating at the behest of their team and its sponsors, never forget that. A flashy rider in the breakaway making amazing efforts or a rider winning multiple stages (but not a threat to the overall GC) is VERY valuable to its team and sponsors.
Jonas playing cool while others panic or throw their arms up in frustration while he is unflappable is pretty entertaining.
He is behind. It's not intelligence if he doesn't attack. He needs to get some "balls".
Pogacar is pure Brawn no Brain
"Just intelligence" is he calling others riders stupid? Jonas is making hating him really easy
You remind me of the famous Jordan Petterson and Cathy Newman interview. So, if someone who gets sick because of eating way too much you tell them maybe you should not eat as much... so you are saying I'm fat? Probably not the best analogy here but you get the point, hopefully. Thank you.
@@martonattila6654 i have no idea what you are talking about. But Jonas is making people dislike him. If you are into liking atheltes that play mind games and leech others without care while calling it "intelligent" then good for you but the TdF fans are voting with their display. There are no Jonas signs and there are no Jonas fans on track. If its your vibe then good for you but its a red flag.
Lack of balls or lack of legs? Or both?
It’s 200 cycling IQ
You're going to have to ask your girlfriend. I would mostly say lack of brains, but I don't know you that well.
You guys have the lack of a brain. Why would he pull with 2 guys who are better than him in this terrain?
If they all pull away together they will beat him.
If he has a puncture he has no teammates.
Its like a better striking mma fighter asking his BBJ black belt opponent to KEEP the fight on their feet and not take it to the ground.
“You aint got the balls?”
Why would you when u can beat them on the Ground?
@@ulrikmortensen9426dream on, no way he wins this tour
@@magictricksbykids2378regardless of whether he wins or loses, him not pulling was the right move. Pulling would have potentially lost him more time, since this isn't terrain that he's suited to. He knows his strengths and plays to them. Pogi definitely looks stronger, this year, but that's no reason to pull down Jonas.
