This old Tangerine dream stuff is awesome.
WOW ! ! ! This is so much cooler then the version on the soundtrack. The opening percussion is awesome. Reminds me of KODO. Thanks for posting it. I wish it was available on CD or for download. I read the book a couple of months ago after watching the film on RUclips & I've got to say that if this film could ever be done to follow the book a little closer, it would be an instant classic.
I read it in a single day. The author said that the story was the extension of the earlier works from Robert E. Howard and H.P.Lovecraft. The film really short changed the villain, but especially the hero. They were the last survivors of humanity's "1st Age" & were @ war with each other for 10's of thousands of years. I'm still a fan of the original film, and without it, we couldn't enjoy this amazing score.
Geez, I really do hope this movie gets revived. Sorcerer just saw the light of day.
Read the book which is brilliant, saw the film with amazing Tangerine dream music, vastly underrated Group
I think the film and the Sound track are fantastic. i didn't discover "The Keep" until about 5 years ago. Since then I watch it once or twice per year. The movie is based on a Horror Novel by F Paul Wilson. The plot is so original. I think the movie director and the sound track creator's efforts were worthy of the authors efforts. The Keep is on my top 5 best movies lis5t!
Not just one novel it’s a series of 6 novels by Wilson and the 7th comes out in July of this year
If you haven’t read the book you should it’s pretty damn good I watched this movie when I was a kid
@@maclemaster2187 Thanks for the reply. Yes I've read 4 book about 7 years ago ( my comment was posted 7 years ago). I was reading almost anything J. Frank Wilson wrote. I think the reason I didnt go farther was the synopses didn't interest. Rasolam or Malosar didn't seem to be the focus.
To w Steven. So you've "joined the club", and now know this film! It's my favourite. They used to show it from time to time after midnight on T.. v., but eventually they stop. I'm going to write to the Talking Pictures channel, and see if they will show it again! It's a classic, so it should not be forgotten!
@@nygelmiller5293 I'd like to see The Keep with better film quality. It's early 80s, I know but most versions I've seen are really grainy. Probably more money than the the owners of it want to spend.
Just BRILLIANT!
Loved it. This music rocks!
the *THE KEEP CD1 - Original Soundtrack-Complete Recordings* on RUclips has the movie version (called "The Journey").. this is different.. interesting...
I have this version and have enjoyed it for some time. It's funny - I think this is TD's best work and Michael Mann doesn't consider the film a work that merits no praise for him. I think that's perhaps why it's not out on DVD. But definitely TD is brilliant genius!
Joy In Repetition.
This track is actually a remix/re-sample of a brian eno track called mea culpa. You will be able to hear the similarities. Both are cool in their respective fields.
loved this film ever since its first release..problem is the editing is all over the place....
this movie.... was strange
+monster hunter 2015 read the book way better
'Insects' by the same author is also a good read.
F. Paul Wilson is a master of the genre.
I like the Oingo Boingo version of Insects better.
while the movie that was released is good. it wasn't Michael Mann's vision. alot was cut out. and the movie is different on many points than the novel
Ever been latently sh*t up by Bandersnatch?
Don't you guys think this is a little repetitive ?
Stupid American
Your puny ears are too small to embrace the sound.
Eh... Not the best sound quality. Negative.
